This is a private RP between Syaoran-Puu (Regulus) and Epine de Rose (Cyn Generis). Lately everything had been very monotonous for Regulus... he had been travelling the land for as long as he could remember, reading the stars by night to guide him to where he was needed. He was growing tired and weary and longed to rest -even for just a little while. Yet as long as he was needed he couldn't just stop, the thought of suffering that could have been prevented was devastating.
Regulus had always been very empathic to those around him, it was part of what made him so good at his job. He could literally feel their pain as his own and knew where the source of their injuries lay. That and plenty of practice made him the healer he was today.... he had seen too much. Some of the more bloody scenes still haunted his dreams. He could still remember finding a mother who was obviously trying to give birth when she had been attacked. Her stomach slashed open... he still hated the fact that he had not been able to save her children, he was sure that living without them was probably worst than dying with them. But he had to live by the healers code....
Heal those you can. Every life is valuable.
Every life. That was the part he hated -healing those who cause destruction and murder others. But as his mother said it was not for him to decide who lived or died. Even those who caused destruction where needed to maintain the circle of life.
Yet here he was again, searching for the next creature in need of his helped, walking towards the mountains. It sometimes took a few hours or even days for him to find them -the stars where never really that clear, just a guide.

His life had not been without its dramas in recent months - for a soquili who favoured tranquility and routine, these sudden events had not been welcome. His mind was in turmoil, his thoughts towards certain individuals uncertain and yet he was not permitted to abandon his duties. For the Angeni who descended from the heavens and stood as a representative for particular domains 'vacations' were not an option. Admittedly there were those Angeni in life who had been blessed with domains so obscure that they could be granted time to relax and recuperate, but for one such as he with a domain that waited for no one, he simply couldn't afford to stop. Thus it was with a heavy and weary form that the Angeni had torn himself from his solitude and thrust himself out into the world once more.
His constant vigil over the Kawani province took precedence over his personal problems and weariness or no, he continued on his way. Blind to the world as always due to the thick forelock that cascaded over his face, he relied heavily upon his other senses and the guidance of the spider that swung idly from his horn. The arachnid was his only company, one elected by the thousands that had guarded him in his slumber. In his presence their life span was extended and as such they could exist for far long than was ordinary but the fact still remained that within a few years another would have to rise up and replace the first. Still, these individuals were particularly godo at their jobs and he hadn't fallen to his death at any point!
As dusk approached the stallion began to detect the falling temperatures and he would estimate that in an hour the stars would glisten high above his head. He could gather from this that he had been on the move for about sixteen hours, pausing only once or twice to receive a sip of water from a passing stream. Nevertheless he had been without the company of other creatures for quite some time, the spider slumbered in his hair and as of yet he hadn't been disturbed as he moved in what could only be described as a very straight line.
However, with each step he took towards the lowlands a small throb threatened to overwhelm him and every sense tingled with an awareness that something of importance was coming his way. The air around him shifted uneasily, time seemed to hesitate and then move on - it seemed that once again the stallion's abilities would be required though he was loathe to make use of them.
...Someone was heading towards a crossroad!

Regulus moved with a slightly heavy heart as he searched the land. So far he had not seen anyone who could even be mistaken as injured or in need of his help, but he wouldn't give up. Onwards he trudged and as the air around him started to cool and the light began to dim he knew that it would not be long until night would fall upon the world like a thick blanket. Perhaps the stars would tell him more -but that was doubtful, he was on his own.
Still looking around for the reason he had travelled so far he found himself distracted as a large black shadow? Something seemed to move in the corner of his eye. Turning his head suddenly to make sure it wasn't a skinwalker or a different type of prediator trying to stalk him from the advantage of the mountain path. Yet when he turned he saw what appeared to be an Angeni -or at least a creature with four wings although they seemed a lot smaller than those of the Angeni he had met before. There was also a long unicorn style horn upon their head... interesting.
His mother had always told him to show respect to the Angeni breed, and so automatically he loved his body into a gently bow and lowered his head -if nothing else it would at least show them that he meant no harm. It was not within his nature to cause anyone pain or misery. "Please forgive me if I am intruding... I was just.... sort of summoned here." He raised his head again and tried to smile softly.

There was a misconception that Angeni those Angeni who had overly feathered wings had the bigger spans but the more ancient of the species had favoured smaller spans for a reason. While traversing territories such as this, the added friction they caused in harsh winds was decidedly uncomfortable. As such, Cyn Generis had been on of those older Angeni who had coaxed his wings into a smaller form, destined only to expand and unfurl to their true size should he ever decide flight was warranted. Alas, given his long mane, tail and otherwise blind-sight it would have been foolish for him to take to the skies for any period of time - let the young ones have their flight, it wasn't for him! Suffice to say, he had grounded himself with as much ease as he had opted to lead the life of a blind man. As for the unicorn's horn? Long ago that which had created him had placed it atop his head for show - if he'd been capable of healing in that form he would arguably have been just a touch too powerful.
...Well, that was how he perceived it at least. It was a largely unimportant feature and one he saw only as a benefit to the spider who swung idly from the tip as it directed him between here and his 'destination'. Granted the spider was there primarily to make sure he didn't trip over anything but it was always nice for both of them to infer he had some place to go. In the end he always had a place to go, always had a province to journey through and a creature to see.
It seemed that today would been no different and no sooner had he pressed his hoof firmly to the soil beneath him than he was interrupted by a voice. The voice wasn't terribly close, it had bridged a reasonable gap between himself and the individual. His ears shifted and flicked until eventually he turned his head in the direction of the stallion. His gaze shrouded in darkness remained completely unaware of the male's measure of respect for him (or at least his race) but he did pick up on the polite tone of his voice. He gave a nod in recognition to this, or perhaps it was gratitude and permitted the tips of his lips to crease into a hint of a smile.
"You have no reason to apologise, these lands are not my own," he reassured the male gently, his voice barely above a whisper. He was grateful that the winds did not howl today, he was far more audible when the weather was tame. However, when the unicorn mentioned he had been 'summoned' this did cause a tiny hint of curiosity to tweak within the Angeni's mind. "Summoned, how so?" he queried with a careful tilt of his head to one side.

He watched as the Angeni turned slowly, it seemed that he was indeed an ancient creature but from this distance he couldn't really make out much more than that, so he slowly made his way closer to the stallion. It would be nice to have some company -even if just for a moment. He was relieved that he was not currently venturing into the territory of another, or at least had not met them yet.
He smiled softly and as he got closer he could now make out the long fringe tha lay over his eyes -could he even see through them? His hair seemed very think and dark. How curious. Yet he could only focus on this for a moment as he found himself being questioned, the reason of his summoning was not something everyone accepted -yet perhaps this creature would understand his connection somehow? Either way he felt the need to answer, it would be rude not to reply to the Angeni after all, especially one that intimidated him so. "Well," he paused for a moment contemplating if he should call him sir or another name of respect? It only took a few seconds but he decided that perhaps it would be best to just answer the question rather than worry about formalities. And so he continued, "I am a travelling healer. I read the stars to direct me to where my services are needed -unfortunitly they are usually only a guide I can find myself easily lost." He sighed a little, he had become lost too many times to count. "The reason I am here is because of my trade, someone in this region is in need of a healer." Smiling softly he allowed his eyes to look around just to make sure he hadn't missed anyone but apart from the Angeni and himself it seemed rather abandoned.
Regulus enjoyed helping others, but didn't enjoy the aftermath. Some thanked him or offerd him gifts. Others yelled at him as if it had been him who had placed them in harms way to behin with. A small group would beg him to kill them and on a rare occasion he would even find himself attacked by those he tried to help. That was one of the reasons why he disliked helping Skinwalkers or Kalonas, they where so unpredicatble.

Had he been privvy to the inner thoughts of the unicorn he would have voiced his approval at Regulus's decision to disregard formalities. Cyn Generis often found such things trivial, they wasted valuable time and the vast majority of individuals failed to remember one another anyway. When it came to passing encounters it was often better to wait and see if a creature was going to be memorable or easy to dismiss. In the case of Regulus and perhaps even Cyn, this remained to be seen and as a consequence the Angeni wasn't inclined to provide the unicorn with any further insight into his identity just yet. However if he had known he was regarded as intimidating he may have done something to reassure the unicorn that he meant no harm... or rather he would mean no harm until he was given grounds to cause harm. He was neither a zealot or a dark knight and generally walked along a neutral path; it was easier this way as if one became overzealous they often made bad decisions.
...He spoke from experience in this.
Nevertheless it was with a wry smile that he listened to the explanation the soquili provided and gave a curt nod on a few occasions. In some perverse manner he understood the explanation all too well. Admittedly he had never found himself lost, instinct and a rather peculiar 'pull' always led him to the right place. It was as though he was tugged along by an invisible string and each time he came to the place he was needed the string would go slack. He envied the ability the unicorn had to get lost on occasions but said nothing to this affect, merely pursed his lips and accepted the explanation. There may have been sceptics in the world but he could appreciate a little magic, especially when he followed such things himself.
"And you are certain it is not yourself?" he enquired after a few moments. It was rare for the angeni to bump into a soquili just 'in passing' any more. Ever since he had taken up his role once again, left his self induced isolation that he had had duty thrust upon him regularly. It may have been an odd question but on occasions, individuals never seemed to realise that they were the ones in need of help! "I apologise if I find myself stating the obvious, but on occasions it does have to be said..." he murmured softly.

He contemplated the Angeni's question for a moment, he supposed it was possibly that the stars had sent him here for himself but they had told him it was a matter of life and death, and unless he was about to find himself in trouble he didn't believe he was in any life threatening situation. "You do not need to apologise." He said, smiling a little as he continued to comtemplate the idea. If it was him, why would the stars send him to the place where he would become injured? Or was there another reason for him being here?
He looked to the Angeni again, he had heard that certain Angeni had special powers. He knew this to be true because he had once met an Angeni who could change how those around him felt -it was strange feeling an emotion that a moment before wouldn't have crossed your mind. An interesting ability none the less.
Regulus was tempted to ask the Angeni outright if he had a power but stopped himself out of fear of coming across as rude or intrusive. He cleared his throat a little before speaking again, "I guess it is possible, I just..." he hesitated and looked up to the sky as if somehow the answer would be there before he continued, "...don't know why they would send me here if it was me who was in trouble." What good would it do? It simply didn't seem to fit correctly, something was missing - but what?

Cyn Generis was sure that the vast majority of Angeni enjoyed being revered but it drove him positively bananas. Having treaded on egg shells for quite a long time in his life, he'd come to the conclusion that for some life was too short and more importantly, you lost out on a lot of time and opportunities if you worried about etiquette all the time. Alas, while it may have driven him up the wall on a personal level he couldn't begrudge those who had been raised to provide the proper level of respect to the individuals around them. Secretly, the black stallion would have been terribly happy if Regulus had taken his curiosity on board and pestered him - Cyn had always liked the direct approach, particularly when the accursed messages he gave had to be incredibly vague.
One cannot meddle in the affairs of mortals. The first rule that came with his gifts. He was mortal himself of course, but the abilities he possessed were definitely not. In order to use them he had be drilled, instructed and had even sworn an oath to ensure they were used correctly. He couldn't be direct or blunt when he had his visions, he could never tell a creature how or when something would happen... only that it would. It was unsurprising that very few of the younger generations took him seriously, he probably would have regarded himself as a bit bonkers too if he'd appeared to his younger self and said 'you are going to die' or 'your mate will suffer a grievous loss'.
He tilted his head to the side as the unicorn mulled over the words. Cyn hadn't really intended for them to be taken into consideration in such a deep manner but it was a pleasant surprise. However after a few moments, as the unicorn debated over the reason for the stars and their intervention, a tiny niggle began to become more and more insistant in the Angeni. The Unicorn had said before that the stars guided him and Cyn was already well aware that random encounters no longer happened to him - slowly but surely the pieces of the puzzle were slotting into place and the stallion's mouth drew into a thin line.
"Oh dear..." he murmured in quiet realisation. Evidently, the niggle was for this male and that meant only one thing. He was going to have to be the bearer of some form of news and if the stars tended to mean trouble for this unicorn then what did that mean for Cyn? "Or perhaps they were being pre-emptive," he uttered gently.
