On the corner of Broadway, there sits an unusual looking grey, brick building. cylindrical in shape and formed in the shape of a castle, it stands out from the other buildings around it. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear that it was plucked straight out of a Renaissance Fair. On the outside of the building, a metal bracket holds a hanging, shield-shaped wooden sign that is emblazened with the name "Sherwood Florist". Near the front door, sits a large, rectangular chalk board with the current specials written on it.
The top floors of the shop appear to be living quarters for the owner and her family. Inside the shop, you'll find several potted plants lining decorative cast iron shelving that runs underneath the windows in the front of the building. The back wall of the shop contains several walk in coolers that store flowers of all types. These are off-limits to customers and are only for the employees who are happy to put orders together for the customer. There is also a door here that leads to a back room and storage area.
The left side of the room contains shelves with all manner of gifts. Candles, bath and body products, a few small stuffed animals, more potted plants and a variety of greeting cards and other lovely items. Behind the counter, you'll usually find Ms. Dinah Lance, her husband Oliver or the hired help. Learning from past experiences, Dinah has hired a middle-aged woman rather than a young, attractive girl.
On the counter, is a large, spiral-bound book with examples of various arrangements that can be made. The shop handles special events, funerals, weddings and more. They can pretty much make whatever you like in the way of floral arrangements. The decor in the building is in tune with the castle theme. It's unusual, yet pleasing.
Unseen to the naked eye, a high powered security system is in place at the shop, ensuring the protection of the building and the people dwelling within.

Hm, damn. Must have just missed her.
*leaves a note to Dinah on the counter*
Ms. Lance, I visited your shop but missed the chance to meet with you. I'd like to discuss some business for a floral arrangement for the Bistro's Valentine's Day event.

*Leans her hip against the counter.* Well.. I want to get Kate something and I've already given her a red rose. So, is there a different Flower to get? With all the different color and flower meanings it always makes me nervous when I pick something out.
*Gives a sheepish smile.* I also want something that means friendship.

Yes, red roses mean passion and love, but I've got plenty of ideas. Some popular alternatives are Sunflowers, which mean admiration and of course forget-me-nots. Tulips are also have been known to symbolize "perfect lover" when given on Valentine's day? Interesting, huh? For me, personally, I always think an interactive gift is best. For example.. this is one I've given and received good response on. It was a little basket with a bottle of wine, CD of love songs to set the mood, chocolate body paint and flavored massage oil. I also.. ermm.. wore a special outfit. Ollie loved it, but be sure to clear your schedule for a night if you give something like that ::coughs::
As for friendship, you're looking for yellow roses/flowers. Also including something personal that speaks to your friend's interests will help make a good impression.

*SHe blushes and clears her throat.* Yeah.. Alright. I like the Sunflower and forget-me-not idea. They're not the usual red. *clears her throat.* I umm... had something in mind as the other part of the gift... Though...
*Pauses a moment or two.* Yellow flowers? Alright, so what's a good flower that isn't a sunflower? *Gives a sheepish look.* I was thinking of just getting Piper a few tuning forks or some small musical instrument.
