The continent of Rodicia. It is home to many people. As such, it has many different countries. Among these countries are the kingdoms of Gailor and Faren. These two countries were never exactly on "friendly" terms, but the last few centuries have only seen minor border skirmishes.
Suddenly, Gailor invaded Faren. Caught by surprise, the Faren army was ill prepared. Gailor marched towards the Faren capital and laid siege to it. However, the Faren army didn't last long and fell after only a few days. As soon as the enemy fell, Gailor entered the city. The king of Gailor and a few members of the army went to the castle and slew the nobles. Then King Gailor killed the entire royal family, with the exception of the prince, Akihiko, who managed to escape. With the death of the royal family also came the death of the kingdom of Faren, for it was now ruled by Gailor.
Two years later, a mercenary going by the name of Aki started to claim to be the missing Prince Akihiko. Not only do him and the prince share similar names, Aki also bears a striking resemblance to Akihiko. Aki is now raising an army to defeat Gailor and reclaim his country in the name of Faren.

Gaia username: Fallen_shinku
Name: Kai
Real name: Xu Kai Hui (徐楷惠)
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Personality: Kai is a strategic and cunning thinker, a result of his many years spent studying under a Master Strategist. He displays an outward image of being calm, and in control, sometimes perceived as a sign of arrogance. Kai is wholly dedicated to his teacher and keeps his lesson in heart even after his passing. He seeks to perfect the teaching of the Master Zhu and to also see to it that Prince Akihiko fulfills his destiny.
Weapon: Fan- A gift from Kai's teacher. It serves more as a symbol of knowledge than a weapon. It is embroidered with foreign characters, which fills nearby people with a feeling of unease. Kai doesn`t use the fan to fight, but instead uses it to channel his magic and perform defensive “dances.”
Side: Faren
Bio: Kai was born in a far-off country, on another continent across the sea. He was born into a poor peasant family, in a land filled with conflict and turmoil. Many civil wars were taking place in this area, as three different empires tried to claim their right to the Emperor's Throne. Kai's father left the family to join the army, promising to come back when he had earned renown in the army. Months past, and the year was approaching its end, however, there was still no news from his father. Then news arrived on how a neighboring nation had routed the local noble family. They had lost the war. Kai and his mother had all but given up hope on his father's safe return and proceeded to arrange for his funeral. However, one day a, the father returned, claiming that he had earned renown during the war by defecting to the invading empire and promising their victory of the land (Kai did not knew this at the time). He claimed that as a reward, they were to move to the capital and live a wealthy life.
Kai and his family eventually moved to the capital, where they were given a relatively large plot of land by the new ruler. His family also received gold in return for his father's services. Kai was then sent to school, to become an educated citizen and to be “useful” for the new empire. Shortly after starting his education, Kai caught the eye of the Master Strategist and Sage of the new empire; Master Zhu. Master Zhu was so impressed by Kai's intellect and cunning that he took him in as his apprentice. Kai proved to be an ideal pupil, learning fast, developing that knowledge, and applying it to his life. Master Zhu was so proud of the child that he started to teach him the strategic way of warfare and the mystical art of the Sage, hoping one day that he would be his successor. Kai soaked in this knowledge, fascinated by the possibilities it opened for him.
Years passed and Kai started accompanying Master Zhu to the battlefield. There he would watch as Master Zhu crushed armies with his cunning and magic. Kai soon started to idolize the master and this only enlarged his thirst for that very power. At this time the country was divided by two empires, the one which took over Kai's homeland, and the larger force to the north. Master Zhu decided it was finally time to bring the war to a close in one final battle. Both sides marched off to finish the decades long conflict on the Wu Zhang Plains.
Kai accompanied his teacher to this event. He watched as the battle started, and as it unfold. The enemy forces tried many different tactics but Master Zhu saw through each and subdued them in an orderly fashion. Kai could still remember the pride he felt that day, standing beside Master Zhu as he seemingly counter the enemy at every turn.
But then, the unthinkable happened. All of a sudden the tent in which they were in caught on fire and screams could be heard from outside. Kai jumped up, surprised at what was occurring. He heard Master Zhu got up and muttered something along the lines of “It has come down to this.” Master Zhu signaled the soldiers standing guard at the entrance of the tent, battle ready to stop anything from coming through. The soldiers immediately left their posts and began tearing away at the map which hung on the far wall. Kai, confused, looked to his teacher, whom deftly withdrew a thickly-bound book, and fan from his robes and handed them both to Kai. Then he shoved Kai to the soldiers, whom immediately grabbed him and took off though a previously unseen pathway behind the map. Kai turned back just in time to see Master Zhu step out of the tent, and shortly after followed by a deafening explosion.
Once Kai and the small group of soldiers made it through the tunnel, they turned back to see their encampment covered in giant boulders, and a nearby mountain missing a good portion of its stature. After short moments of mourning, the small entourage proceeded to a nearby river, where a boat was prepared. The small entourage entered the boat and was swept down the river.
On the journey back, Kai studied the book that was left by his late teacher. Inside the book was a letter, detailing what occurred in the last few moments before the Master Zhu's death, along with what Kai should do, if he dies. The letter noted that the book was what was left of Kai's training. The fan was a gift from teacher to pupil, which was to serve as a gift for Kai when he completed his training. The letter also informed Kai that the incident which occurred at Wu Zhang Plains was the effect of several officers defecting to the other side. Master Zhu, having no choice, was forced to use his magic to bury the whole encampment, effectively killing all the traitors, and himself. The letter concluded saying that as soon as Kai learned all that he could from the book he was to destroy it until it is time for him to find a sucessor.
Once Kai made it back from the field of battle, he sought to become the new Master Strategist. However, upon his arrival, he was faced with extreme prejudice and anger. Confused, he later found out that Master Zhu was seen as a traitor in this land, as he seemingly dropped a mountain on top of his own encampment, which costed the battle and war. Kai and the soldiers tried to convince the people otherwise, but they would not believe a single word of it.
Then armed escorts came to round up Kai and the few soldiers whom were left from the battle. They were put on trial in front of the Emporer for assisting treason. The soldiers were immediately put to death. Kai watched as the soldiers who were still loyal to Master Zhu were lined up and, one by one, were beheaded. Then it was his turn at the “trial.” The Emperor questioned many times for Kai to relay the “truth” of the event, but Kai persisted. Exhausted the Emperor gave up and penalized Kai with banishment instead of death, in regards to what he claims as “The ignorance of youth.”
Kai was shipped to the country of Faren a few years later. He decided to make a name for himself and to revive his master's legacy in this new land. When he first got to the capital of Faren, he opened up a divination stand on the streets. After awhile of business, he eventually caught the attention of various wealthy and influential people of the area, mainly wealthy merchants. With this he went up in the hierarchy of Faren, getting the attention of many for his unique (and eerily accurate) predictions. This allowed Kai to build up relationships with those higher in the hierarchy, thus increasing his position further more. Eventually he was invited to do service for the nobility of Faren. The king and queen was so impressed with his work that they hired him full time as a "Divinator" (or Court Magician, whatever floats your boat). There a strange event took place. While doing a divination for the adolescent Akihiko, Kai saw darkness in the child's future, and that he would be one to change many lives across the land. Intrigued by the child's interesting future, he decided to stay by the families side until the time comes when the Prince Akihiko will have to meet his destiny.
Other: Kai's magic is achieved through various incantations, gestures, and charms. For large-scale and complicated spells, rituals must be used. Rituals are varied depending on the desired outcome, but usually include a large drawn circle in which the caster chants from. The circle and embellishments will change depending on the spell being cast.

Gaia username: KuroSeiryu
Name: Renka
Real name: Renka Ekelif Strauss
Age: 20
Gender: male
Personality: Quiet and keeps to himself usually, but very trustworthy when it comes to his comrades.
Weapon: A large scythe that appears too heavy to use. (in pic)
Side: Faren
Bio: Renka was raised in a secluded village of warriors with his sister Inui, their parents were the main guards of the village head. From childhood Renka showed talent with two handed weapons that were somewhat difficult for some of the adult warriors and quickly took on scythes as his favorite choice. Unknowingly raising his reputation above his elder sister who was the top hunter. Once he was of age he journeyed to the mountain just behind their village to gather ore for his personal weapon, finding a vane of rough sapphires withing the twisted tunnels. Thereafter donning clothing of similar hue of his weapon as the people of their village usually do as a sigh of a full-fledged warrior. After Renka and several others were out hunting for a few days, they returned to a partially destroyed village and helped search for survivors, who named Inui's name as the one that attacked.
While the survivors starting burying the dead and rebuilding their homes, Renka left to seek out his sister...weather is was to get revenge or not, he never said.
Other: His scythe weighs about 85-90 pounds, but Renka doesn't seem to have a problem lifting it with one hand.

Gaia username: Gwen of Air 13
Name: Damon C.
Real name: Iohannes Arthur Fezick
Age: Twenty-three
Gender: Male
Personality: Damon is bat-s**t insane. He hears voices(particularly one called 'Nailboy', the disembodied voice of the cranium he carries around), and listens to them. He claims they're either his 'friends' or 'the Gods'. (The Gods are the players in the RP. He can hear OOC, and tends to break the fourth wall.) However, most people brush this off as him being 'crazy'.

Damon never quite grew out of that stage you have in childhood, where you believe that bad people deserve death. However, he did grow some, but rather than the normal path(life is gray and gray, there is no 'good' or 'bad'), he just expanded to 'All people are assholes, thus everyone deserves pain'. He won't lay a hand on a child, but if you've hit puberty, tough luck, you're free game! However, this whole 'won't hurt a child' is less because he's a good person and more because children usually haven't done anything worth punishing yet. The only child he wouldn't hurt/actually likes is his own son, who he hasn't seen in two years.

But no matter HOW crazy he is, Damon is surprisingly logical, befriending the 'main characters'(who he 'knows' will never get hurt), not biting off more than he can chew(though he can 'chew' quite a good amount), and generally knowing his boundaries.
Weapon: Whatever hurts the 'patient'. He prefers knives to anything else, but will also use needles, whips, torches/fire, nails, blunt objects, etc. If there is nothing around, he'll just claw at the attackers face until they let go and he runs like the wind.
Side: Faren. Unless the Gay Lord offers him more things to torture.
Bio: Not much is known about Damon's childhood, mostly because he's forgotten, and doesn't seem to care enough to try and remember. He makes vague references to being bullied in school, but he doesn't use it as an excuse for the things he does. People ask him about his childhood, and he shrugs.

In fact, Damon's mother died in childbirth, and he was raised mainly by his father, who was Faren's head inquisitor at the time. He was bullied quite mercilessly in school, but he didn't mind so much. He did vow to torture each and every one of his schoolmates to death when he became head inquisitor, but the things he said seemed more like childish anger fits than actual threats.

When he actually became an inquisitor, following in his father's footsteps, Damon changed his name from Iohannes to Damon, which is Latin for 'To Tame'. Because of his 'unique' ability to be completely heartless(as taught by his father), he rose to the top quickly. Read the paragraph before this one, then ask yourself: what do you think he did first?

Damon inspired fear into even his own king, the only person he took orders from. He didn't really care when Gailor invaded, finding all the carnage 'strangely arousing'. However, he wasn't so happy when Gailor outlawed the inquisition and chucked him in jail two years after he started rule. Damon is now very much angry, and willing to do just about anything to gain leverage against Gailor...
Other: Watch your back. Just because he's on Faren's side, which seems to mean 'good' generally, that doesn't make him a good person. He'd happily stab you if you piss him off.
Appearance:Real whispy

Gaia username: Gwen of Air 13
Name: Dr. Franken Stein
Real name: Shanton M. Harding
Age: Thirty-six
Gender: Male
Personality: Dr. Stein is insane. Surely, at one point in his childhood, he was a perfectly normal boy, but he is not now. He lives for his work, and some say that this drive is what causes his insanity. Whatever he likes, he dotes on, and whatever he doesn't like, he threatens to dissect. This can sound silly, coming at inanimate objects('You damn rock! I wanna dissect you!'), but can be terrifying if said in a battle. Note: When he says this to girls, it is not a pickup line. Get the hell out of there.
Weapon: Dr. Stein doesn't generally fight. When he does, he usually uses surgical equipment, but he's not picky. He'll use whatever is available at the time.
Side: Gailor, though he feels no attachment to it. He would gladly abandon them if it meant living better, or not having to go through hardships.
Bio: No one is exactly sure when Shanton started to become what he was. The best guess would be when he saw his mother's hand being cut off as public humiliation, a punishment for theft. This was also probably about the time when he turned against Faren.

Between that time and the time he was twenty-three, Shanton had decended into madness. He studied under a doctor, and was well known for being excellent at what he did, but no one wished to visit him. This was because rumors that he was crazy circled about, and he never denied once that it was true.

But when he was twenty-three, one of Shanton's many brothers, who had gotten married, had his first child, and Shanton's first niece. Without fully understanding what was going on, he was pulled back into the family he had distanced himself from, because he had to help take care of her. She was a sickly child, and as the family doctor, he had to spend quite a lot of time making sure she didn't push herself past her limits. He felt, eventually, that he was her father more than her real father was. This caused him some difficult feelings, because he tended to hate little children. He had never before understood maternal feelings.

And they terrified him.

When he was thirty, Shanton connected his fear to the little girl. It had to be her, he convinced himself. He felt frightened whenever she was around, so who else could it be? However, when he told his brother that he didn't wish to see the man's daughter anymore, he had to admit to being frightened of her. He reassured his brother that it had nothing to do with her being contagious, he just couldn't be near her any longer. And so, without saying goodbye, he allowed his niece to fade into the background of his mind.

Years passed. Four, to be exact. Shanton distanced himself more from the rest of the family. They had forgotten what Fairen had done to them. But he did not forget. And so, he sat for four years, brooding, planning revenge that he knew he would never act on.

And then she appeared on his doorstep.

His niece, despite all his efforts, had returned, like a yo-yo. She was standing in front of his door, sniffling, her eyes rubbed raw. Her father had been killed in some massacre involving the king and some other stuff. He didn't really understand what she was trying to tell him, since her story was continually broken with sobs from the girl who was almost a woman. But what he did understand, to his horror, was that she had nowhere else to go, because everyone else didn't want her, which meant that he was obliged to house her until she found someone else. He couldn't just kick her out, could he?

But she never found anyone to let her stay. And in this way she forced her uncle to keep her. And because he was unable to run from her, Shanton found that he actually rather liked his little niece. Only one thing bothered him now: why did he feel all weird and fuzzy around her?
Other: Shanton changed his name to Dr. Franken Stein for safety, so as not to be recognized as a member of the Harding family. This was paranoia.

After several years he quit but was soon after drafted into the Gailor army and during the fall of Faren he had killed several men only to find they had been protecting their sister who lay bed ridden. Filled with remorse he helped her recover from her sickness though she woke with no memories. Tassr gave her the name Mira and for the next 2 years taught her to take care of herself. He disapproved Mira's joining the army but didn't stop her as it was her wish.

She has a bad tendency of getting very angry in debates, and going into monologues when lecturing people. She is a highly stubborn and opinionated person. She also forgets her strength often, and accidentally hurts people.
Weapon: Tak, being a very old-fashioned fighter, uses a spear, with a bronze sword in case of problems where her opponent somehow gets close to her. She's also known to just, y'know, bash their heads in with her shield.
Side: Gailor
Bio: Tanka was the third child born in her family, and the first daughter. Her mother was growing sick by then, and, good for her health, could not get pregnant. Tak was brought up as the youngest child, so when her mother ecstatically proclaimed herself pregnant when Tak was six, Tak was not pleased. She wanted to be her mother's favorite, which she knew would stop if her mother had another baby. But she put up with it, and was there when her mother gave birth. When you see a childbirth, it is hard to hate the child, something Tak found out early in life. Her little sister wasn't so bad, really, and Tak found herself happy to be left alone and to not have to be babied. At least her older brothers weren't being unkind to her for being the favorite anymore.

Tak ended up growing up as the 'wild child'. She spend more time running barefoot in the mud then she did sewing quilts together, like every other nine-year old did. She would come home dirty, and her mother would give her a harsh scolding on acting so boyish while washing her off. But despite her wild nature, Tak held a strange fascination with the military. Every time the army came storming through the towns, while most people locked their doors and pretended not to be home, she would rush outside to watch, or, if her mother wouldn't let her, press her nose up against the glass to stare at the procession. It was her dream to become a member of the army. Her mother always told her that it was stupid, and remind her that she was a girl, and would not be allowed to join the army. So Tak, brokenhearted, just sat in her house and waited, waited for a chance to prove herself.

And then the day came.

Tak remembered the day well. She was thirteen, and her mother was desperate to get her a husband and out of the house. While her mother was out talking to neighbors about her daughter as a potential wife, the army came storming through again. Her mother and neighbors ran to hide, but she could not move. An idea had begun to form in her mind. When she finally did move, it was at a run. She was at her brother's house in minutes. She didn't even explain what was going on, just ran into his room, flailed about trying to get out of her clothes and into his for a minute. Then she was back downstairs, and pulled a kitchen knife right out of her sister-in-law's hands, sliced her long hair off, dropped hair and knife on the floor, and ran back out, stumbling into boots along the way. The army procession was almost gone now, and she ran after them, yelling and shouting to wait up, waving her arms frantically until finally someone looked back. Thanks to her impossibly small chest size, what they saw was a scrawny boy who wanted to show his patriotism and join the army.

It didn't take long for them to agree.

By the time anyone had figured out that Tak was female, she had already led many armies into battle, and had earned herself title of General. That was about when they decided that her gender didn't matter, and kept the fact that they knew from her. This didn't cause them to just let any broad into the army, but it meant that certain women might be good to have in the army. Better than certain men, anyway.

Tak was on leave when the attack happened. She had been visiting her family for the first time in four years, and her mother was very happy to see her. She didn't hear about the tragedy until she returned to the castle to find it in ruins. That was when she realized that she had two options. Option one, let her entire family be slaughtered by the new king, or option two, serve under him and have her family moved to status of importance. It didn't take long to decide. Who would hesitate? Her family was important, and she would be protecting the same people. That was what she told herself day after day. She told herself that until she believed it. Whenever she doubted something, she told herself that it was all for her family.

It always worked.
Other: Tak is very much single, despite attempts from just about every man she knows, including her adversaries. This confuses to a far extent, but she doesn't press it.
Appearance:Tak stands at about 5'6", very tall for a woman at that time period. She has a sturdy build, and there's no hiding the muscles that indicate her strength. Her body is scarred with the labor she toiled through to achieve power.

Tak has short purple hair, which reaches to flaunt out under the jaw. Her eyes are also purple, and she has dark circles under her eyes, from countless nights staying up and planning attacks.

Tak is not a particularly attractive woman, but there's something about her that makes all people glance twice. Perhaps it is her confidence, or her loyalty, or perhaps it is the majestic way she holds herself, which commands your respect. Or maybe it's the kindness under her rough skin. Whatever it is, it makes her look beautiful.

This is a map of the continent. I know it sucks. I can't draw in real life, much less on the computer, so you're going to have to deal with it. XD I kid, I kid.

Anyway! Enough joking around. The only two countries that you need to worry about in this RP are Faren and Gailor. If you want to know what's happening with the other three at this time, please go to War with Cerberia. If not, disregard this paragraph.

This is a close up of Faren that shows the major cities. I figured it'd be easier to make a map of it than to try to describe it.

((We'll start now. We'll do a little prologue type thing and start on the day of the attack on Faren castle, aka the day the Faren royal family is killed. After a few events, we'll switch to present day.))

Two years ago...(the day Faren fell to Gailor)

A fifteen year old Prince Akihiko was running towards the throne room. The sound of fighting was everywhere. By the sounds of it, Faren was losing. Akihiko was trained to used a sword, but he wasn't exactly good with it. He'd probably end up hurting himself and his allies more than the enemy.
He burst into the throne room to see his younger sister Alice already there.

"Big brother!" Alice cried when she saw him. She ran over to him, wrapped her arms around his waist, and started to cry. She was only ten years old.
"Don't cry, Alice. Everything's going to be okay. You'll see," Akihiko said reassuringly, returning her hug.

Maka Chaka
(Otherwise known as Marion Harding)

Just one more fight about a lot of things
And I will give up everything

Maka could not stop the steady stream of tears that were flowing down her face, as they had been for the past several hours. Sitting in the back of a wagon, clutching her scythe, and leaning against the basket meant to store wheat, she was trying to feel tired. Maybe if she fell asleep, she'd be alright. Maybe it would all just be a ******** up dream, and she would wake up with her parents back. And maybe not. Maybe it was real. Whatever was real and whatever wasn't, she should try to sleep. But she could not. Instead she sat in the absolute darkness and sobbed.

~!~

"Here's your fare. Thanks for the ride." Maka stuffed the coins in her hand into the hand of the wagon-owner. He smiled at her, thanked her, and disappeared into the mist. Looking up, Maka thanked the sky for the rain. Her tears were cloaked, and her rage cooled a bit. Therefore, it could actually be obliterated for a moment as shock covered her mind. But the shock faded as she began to understand what was going on. The country of Faren was under attack. Well, that was fine. The other soldiers would weaken the path in. Maka's eyes shifted left to right, and her hands tightened on her scythe. Then she began to walk, and sped up to a run, then to a sprint. Around the ruins of the castle gates, over the charred and bloodied bodies, over the rolling heads and plates of armor, along the drawbridge, and into the castle.

A woman, obviously of noble blood, was pinned to the wall by a soldier, and was screaming and crying. The woman would die. But that wasn't Maka's problem. And so, she pressed on. In front of her, a soldier with the symbol of Gailor on his chest plate stood in front of her. He told her to stop. She told him to get out of the way. He didn't. Her scythe came in contact with the weak link between his helmet and his armor, and the man was down. And she kept going.

Somehow, Maka thought that maybe she was afraid of stopping. She was afraid of failing her parents by not ending the lives of the ones who had sent them to their death. So that was it, basically. She was afraid that she wouldn't be able to avenge them. Of course, this was something she realized later. It's hard to think if you're blinded by the crimson streaks of rage, the very rage that tainted her own common sense. Seriously, if it weren't for this take-over, breaking into the castle would have been impossible. At least, the way she was doing it now would have been. Seriously? She was just running at people and screaming, and hoping the would get out of the way, and swinging her blade at those that didn't. If the people within the castle hadn't been panicking, she would have been taken out before even getting to the living quarters of the structure. But as it was, she was in and up the stairs, closer and closer to the throne room.

Maka ended up standing in front of the giant doors into the throne room. The true realization of what she was about to do hit her like a ton of bricks, and suddenly she wasn't sure if she wanted to do this. She closed her eyes...

And thought of the mangled bodies of her family.

Her eyes opened, the fires of rage burning in them once more. She kicked open the doors, and ran towards the king of Faren, with a scream of pure rage and despair, her scythe swinging towards him.

Enserric The Grey
(Also known as Eric Grisham.)

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
E couldn't stop humming. Already three people had spilled their warm, delightful blood on the ground for him, and plenty more were sure to come! Ah, yes, the screams that they usually made were delightful to the ear and healthy for the body. No wait, that's not right. He shouldn't be this happy about killing people. That was Geist talking again. Ah well, at least he was more devious than the other being lurking inside his mind.

The castle was an excellent hunting ground for anyone who sought the most dangerous game, and E was that kind of hunter. Of course, he had to pledge allegiance to the king of Faren, but who cares? Vows could be rescinded. All this was going over in E's head as he lightly stepped over the bodies along the parapet. Time to step inside, more of the game would come soon, come for his "Master" and there would be more warm blood, more of the red water. He stopped to stab a unsuspecting man in the neck with his sharpened breadknife -- an oddity, you wouldn't think that was possible, and saw the doors to the hall blast open. Uh oh.

A young girl, running towards the king. Well, that just wouldn't do. If he was dead, no more prey would come to dance with the Invisible Man! And he needed more, always more, insatiable hunger... No, that's Berserker. Anyway, she could easily be stopped, and perhaps she would bleed for him too. Just pull out the other knife, Sharpest Thing, and swoop down as she passed... There.

A... Thing in humanoid form leapt on Maka as she charged, her scythe falling from her hands as a full one hundred and ninety pound collided with her mid-run. It had whitish hair, but grey skin, and it's teeth seemed oddly and unnaturally sharp, like a shark's. Blood stained the nearly see-through grey armor, revealing the patterns on the walls behind, splashed with large volumes of blood. However, there were no cuts on this figure, so this man was either a psycho or had recently butchered a dozen living pigs. A knife was in each hand, one appeared to be a bread knife, but oddly sharp, tapering to a blade's edge, and the serrations had become a lot deeper and less wide than they had previously been. The other gleamed a lightish blue, and was very, very sharp. So sharp you couldn't see the edge. Sharpest Thing was really an apt name.

"I'm afraid i can't let you do that, starfox." The man had sheathed a blade and was raising Maka by her collar. He knew what he had to do, but she seemed so... Young. Too young to be carrying a scythe around like that. And a warscythe no less -- he was sure those hadn't been used here for hundreds of years. She was babbling in incoherent fury, eyes stained red by a rush of blood to the eyes. "You know, you won't be able to solve any problems with violence. You need to use words like a rational person. Angrish? Oh well. It seems we're going to have to solve our problems with violence. Again. Seems like i do that too much."

Maka hadn't been expecting that she wouldn't make it to the king. More, that her scythe was blown out of her hands. Her eyes followed it as it skittered across the floor. But then they turned back to the man who held her up by her collar, and gave another rage-scream. Her hands went to her belt, where she unstrapped the leather thong on her belt, pulled out the sickle it held, and swung out, hoping to cut across his face, maybe cut it open. Sadly, it did not work, but his hands loosened, and she kicked free from his chest, and struggled backwards to grab her scythe. She held it at the ready, eyes narrowing, teeth clenched, hands tight, waiting for the man to make his move. She could tell that she wasn't going to be fighting against the king, much as she wanted to kill him. She would have to kill this man first.

Maka replaced the sickle back in it's leather thong and gripped the scythe properly, with both gloved hands holding on to the pole. Her teeth parted once again as she gave another scream, and this time, ran at the bread-knife wielding man. Hopefully, she would knock the knife out of his hand and skewer him, leaving her to go straight for the king. Maybe luck was on her side today. Maybe not.

She wouldn't know until she tried.

[Goddommot forgot about this RP already ._. I'll post properly later, when I return.]
-----
Bjorn Hauksson had been in his room when the attack started. The soldiers had come out of nowhere, and within moments, had engulfed the first line of defence. He watched as hasty barricades were set up on the most obvious paths to the throne room, but one after one, they fell.

He ran to the wall and quickly donned a chain mail shirt over his clothes. He strapped on a weathered leather belt, a shortsword at its side. His hands finally closed on a massive claymore, which he strapped across his back, then drew. It was time to defend the castle.

Bjorn stepped out of his room, right into the face of a young, frightened looking Gailor soldier, that never stood a chance. Before the soldier could even comprehend what happened, his torso was sliding off his legs. Before that torso hit the floor, Bjorn was moving on, his feet thundering down the hallway, his long hair flowing wildly behind him, and a maniacal gleam in his clear blue eyes. A pair of guards blocked his way to the stairs...and they unfortunately decided to stand next to a window. The first man was stabbed through the stomach, and in a particularly vicious move, Bjorn's claymore flew up, cleaving him in half. He dropped the blade to take care of the other man, who had tried to hit him with his spear. Bjorn simply grabbed the haft of the spear and snapped it, then picked up the man and through him out the third story window, where he crushed an unfortunate Gailor private attempting to climb through a window, three stories down.

Bjorn retrieved his claymore from the first soldier and moved on, ready to kill every, and any, Gailor soldier on the way, no matter how old or young, male or female, armed or unarmed. He needed to secure the throne room.

King and Queen Faren instantly ran to their two children as the throne room doors burst open. The king was ready to defend his family no matter the cost. Luckily, E was there to stop the girl.
Alice clung to Akihiko even more tightly, her sobbing getting worse.
Akihiko held onto Alice tightly, watching with fear as King Gailor himself entered the throne room.
"Well well, what have we here? The royal family has all gathered together. This saves me the trouble of hunting for you," Gailor said.
King Faren stood protectively in front of his family, although he knew he stood no chance against Gailor. He removed one of the two swords at his side and its sheath from his belt. It was the treasure of the Faren royal family, the royal blade Ragnarok. He handed it to Akihiko.
"Go, my son. You must live. Take Alice and run," he said to Akihiko.

"We can't leave you, daddy!" Alice yelled.
"You must. There is no hope for Faren. You two cannot die. Not here. You are the only hope of Faren," her father told her softly.
"But-!" Alice started.
"Alice...Come on," Akihiko said. They started to back up to the secret exit in the throne room, but, before they reached it, Alice broke away from Akihiko and ran over to her parents. "Alice! Don't-!"
"I am not leaving mommy and daddy! You can go, but I won't!" Alice yelled at him.

Hana was working with a group of Faren soldiers to hold off a Gailor attack. The group had been on their way to the throne room to protect the royal family, but had been attacked by a group of Gailor soldiers trying to get to the throne room. Hana was sending chi blasts at the servants of Gailor, but it was no use. The soldiers kept coming.
"This is endless!" one of the Faren soldiers yelled.
Another turned to Hana. "Hurry on to the throne room! We'll hold them off here, but someone must protect the king and queen!"

Hana nodded and ran off in the direction of the throne room. She was horrified when she saw the bodies of some Gailor soldiers. How did they get this far!? she thought to herself, still running. It was a relief when she saw Bjorn on the way to the throne room as well.

Bjorn was still fighting his way to the throne room, his blade getting progressively bloodier, and pitted from the armour and bone it continued to cleave through. One guard rushed at him, wielding nothing, as his weapons had been broken in a fight. Bjorn didn't even cut him down, he just swung his massive left arm out, catching the man in the side of the head and sending him sprawling. The man crashed against the wall and crumbled into a heap on the ground while Bjorn continued on, catching sight of Faren soldiers, and Hana. He quickly made his way over. "How are you all faring?" he asked, a little breathless, but barely. In fact, the fighting seemed to have done nothing but put a small scratch on his arm.

Hana shook her head. "Not so good. The castle is going to fall. There's no avoiding it. We need to protect the royal family, but we can't do that toiling around here. I'm worried that they may have already reached the throne room, though I'm hoping that my worrying is for naught," Hana said, worry apparent in her voice and eyes. "I'm going ahead of the others and trying to get there quickly."

((I'm gonna hold off on Akihiko for now, at least until Bjorn and Hana can get there.))

"Go. I'll be there." Bjorn said, patting Hana on the arm with his hand. "Hana...you're a good friend." he said, just in case. With that, he headed out, taking another route to the throne room. Along the way he spotted a pair of soldiers engaged in a fight, Gailor vs Faren. Gailor's man was cut down, but not before putting a good gash across the Faren man's chest. Bjorn walked over to the soldier and helped him up. "Come on up. Find a medic. Go." he said, heading past the man.
