Eating while sick

I think I might be coming down with a cold or something... T.T

Any advice for eating right while you're sick? Anyone know of any good foods to eat besides orange juice and chicken noodle soup? It's so hard to not go "I feel like s**t, GIMME FRIED STUFF!!" X.X

I don't know about eating, but, for drinks? Hot tea and hot lemon water! The heat under your nose helps clear out snot. Hot showers and baths are good for that too.

I don't know, but when I'm sick I generally don't want to eat much. It kind of depends on what type of way you feel sick. If you were nauseous I would suggest starchy foods like potatoes because they absorb the fluid in your stomach. If you have a weak stomach I'd stick to less hearty soups. When I had my wisdom teeth taken out I basically lived off of eggdrop soup.

I don't really eat a lot when I'm sick either. One time I got a virus and couldn't eat for a week. I lost 10 pounds. xD

To be honest, when I'm sick I usually eat whatever I feel like eating. I do try not to overeat, especially because that will only make any nausea I have worse, but I don't stick to a diet when I'm ill.

Garlic garlic garlic, garlic in *eeeeverything* Seriously. Make up some garlic butter by pressing garlic and just adding it to your margarine or margarine substitute. Have it on toast, on sandwiches (grilled sanmiwches) and anything else. I usually have garlic tomato quinoa soup when I feel sick.

1 large onion.
1-2 tbsp olive oil.
1-2 bulbs garlic (bulbs, not cloves)
1 huge can crushed tomatoes
self same huge can full of water
1 cup quinoa
2 cups water.
More crushed tomato or tomato paste or something if it's not tomato-y enough for you.
Cayenne pepper (to taste)
and chili pepper flalkes. (around half a tsp or more)

Saute the onions in oil and as you're doing that, peel the garlic and crush it or mince it or what have you. Just throw the garlic in as you get it done.

When the onions are translucent, rinse your quinoa thoroughly and add to pan, stir mixture around for a while (minute or two) and then throw in your water and tomato.

Bring to a boil and add yer spices. Reduce heat to about medium low and stir fairly often. when the quinoa is done, the soup is done. Quinoa is done when it looks like it's popped out of it's little shell and the shell is but a curly bit around the side. (done quinoa is translucent save for this bit)

Does garlic help you get better faster? surprised

I've actually been wanting to eat nothing but fruit smoothies, soup, bread, and potatoes. 'Cause whatever's wrong with my throat, bread and potatoes seem to be making it feel better. xd So I've actually been really wanting french fries even though I don't like them that much and hardly ever eat them usualy. whee

Garlic just helps with everything, I believe it helps me get over the colds faster, whether that's a matter of stimulating the immune system or what I don't know, but it helps me.

Make french fries at home. Toss them in olive oil and garlic. : P
