"I still say we could videotape it or something."
Cody glanced wryly at his younger demon brother from where he lounged against the wall of Rune's living room, tossing a beanbag ball idly up and down with one hand. "Yeah, Tex - and where do we find the video tape? HOW do we video tape it? It's not like there's a big neon sign or anything."
"This sucks." Tex grumbled, flopping backwards over the arm of a sofa. The house seemed strangely empty at the moment, with most of their siblings gone; with the exception of Rune - in her study, and hard at work with some new project - there was only Cody, Tex, and their three younger brothers. Perfect timing to discuss their problem.
"We could take a videotape player." Spoke up one of the boys, a child of roughly four or five years with spiky brown hair that flopped over his green eyes. Beside him were two other boys, one with dark hair and golden eyes and a second, younger child with dark aqua skin and pale green hair. "Then Mama would have to believe us."

"Spes? Spes, honey, look at me. Now listen, DO. NOT. SCARE. RUNE. I repeat, DO NOT SCARE HER, okay? I know you don't mean to, but you DO scare people sometimes... Can't you at least gurgle a little bit?"
The solemn baby blinked her large green eyes at her mother as she continued to suck on her binki, effectively making Indu appear insane to anyone she passed on the street. Indu hadn't seen Rune since she'd told her she was pregnant after the carnival, and now that she'd had her baby... Well, babies, it was about time to visit what Indu considered their godmother, and break the news.
Sita, as usual, was with his father/mother Tenshi, and Spes was quiet because of it. The only time the babe really made noise was to get across a particular point or soothe her brother, otherwise, she was content to examine things with the same expression of slight disdain/disinterest.
Indu shifted the flame-haired child on her hip and took a deep breath, hiding the child behind her back in a surprise gift sort of fashion before knocking on the door. She couldn't wait to see the look on Rune's face when she exposed the baby.

(*giggle, snort* I luff Indu.)
"Can somebody get that?" Rune's voice yelled from the direction of the study, sounding slightly distracted. Cody's eyes flicked to the door, and he shook his head meaningfully, dragging his brothers back through another hallway. A few seconds later, Rune appeared and trotted for the door, expression still a bit distant. "I could have sworn I heard Cody out here - little rat probably felt lazy." She grinned wryly, pulling back the lock and pulling open the door. "Hello?"

Indu whipped the baby from behind her back with a "TA-DA" sort of expression on her face, holding the child under her armpits. Spes simply sucked on her binki and blinked up at Runie, eyeing her with slight disdain as if she didn't see why she was there to entertain the woman. Her tiny black wings flapped briefly and she tugged out her binki with tiny fingers to momentarily oblige her mother.
"Gah."
It was said in a dry, almost wry tone, as if she was mocking typical baby speech, and her mother's request for a gurgle. Afterwards, Spes shoved the binki back into her mouth and wrinkled her nose in distaste. Being held like this was rather annoying, she wasn't some showpiece. The little girl was in her favorite pair of cowboy pajamas, which she'd refused to relinquish to her brother, and in one hand, she firmly gripped the paw of her teddy bear.

Indu's announcement - and Spes' moment of wry acceptance to her mothr's request - was followed by a few seconds of gaping on Rune's part. The young woman stared at her friend with eyes the size of saucers, lips slightly parted. For exactly five heartbeats, there was silence.
"INDUOHMYGODWHEREHAVEYOUBEENSHE'SADORABLEIMISSEDYOUSOMUCHANDYOUHADTWINS?!?!?!"
Rune threw herself from the doorway, expertly dodging baby Spes for a moment to hug her friend fiercely. Releasing the redhead after a moment, she grinned happily at Spes. "You're adorable." She said in a more normal tone.

Spes raised both her dark red brows in response to the compliment and seemed to sort of nod, as if accepting, and possibly agreeing with Rune. Indu couldn't help but start grinning as her friend hugged her and nodded rapidly several times before holding up her baby higher.
"Uh-huh! Do you, uhm... Want to hold her? I kinda wanted to ask if you'd maybe be her godmother? But, uhm, only if you want to..."
Spes held up her teddy and Indu blinked before taking it. That handled, the baby girl promptly reached forward to lock her fingers into Rune's shirt.
"I guess she approves of you, Runie!"

If it was possible, Rune's beaming face could have rivaled the sun. Carefully cradling the little infant in her arms, she turned a slightly teary gaze to Indu. Licking her trembling lips, she managed, "Indu? I'd be honored." Taking a deep breath, she nodded firmly. "So where's her twin - with Tenshi?"
(*giggle* Indu has now become Rune's best Gaian friend ever.) xd

Indu blinked, and actually blushed a little.
"Yeah, the other one is named Sita, he's a... Wild little boy. Nothing like this one, though they seem eerily devoted to one another. Spes barely makes a sound unless it's too him, and he's so clingy to her that he's even jealous of her teddy bear."
Spes tipped her head back quickly, red bangs flopping back out of her eyes as she struggled to see Runie's face. To make eyecontact. The babe loved to examine people before she got close to them. It'd taken her two whole days to decided that Indu was alright.

Rune grinned, lifting the baby slightly higher and brushing at the red bangs to clear her eyes. Somehow, the infant reminded her of someone, though she had no idea who. Her expression was teasing as she laughed. "Must be because they're yours and Tenshi's." She snickered gleefully. "But come on, come inside - we don't need to stand out here! You must still be tired, are ya hungry?"
Peering in through the hallway, Cody's green eyes were thoughtful. Indu had had a baby, how awesome. She was a cutie, too. Behind him, Tex jabbed a finger in his ribs, trying to scoot his brother over so he could see. "Lemme look." He hissed softly. "We can't see!"

For a baby, Spes was terribly observant. Her green eyes instantly jumped from Rune's face to land on the boys peeking out at her. Both brows lifted again and her mouth twitched slightly around the binkie as she tightened her fingers into little fists in Rune's clothing.
"Things are... Weird... Between Tenshi and I."
Indu also turned red at being reminded who the "father" was and shrugged, entering the house behind Rune.
"I guess I am a little, on both comments. I just fed Spes, though. Where are all your brats?"

Rune raised an eyebrow, though she decided not to comment. She was betting things were more than just a little weird between Indu and Tenshi. Downright freaky weird, possibly. "Well, sit, sit. We've got a fully stocked kitchen - the good side to having Lizarkin take over the groceries."
Inside, she grinned and settled Spes a little more comfortably on her hip, with the usual ease she had with infants. "Mirelle and Kirika are off with Sesshomaru, Chloe and Rose took a trip to Illuzen for study, Dray and the rest of that set are with Aeris and Ramene at the Academy, and Allie and Morgan took most of the rest off to go riding. Cody and Tex were here somewhere, but I'm not sure where they ran off to."
The boys in question slipped back slightly farther out of sight, looking at each other. "Think it'll work?" Tex whispered, tugging the smallest boy closer to him. Cody shrugged. "I dunno, they might have fixed it by now."
(*giggle* Next post, Rune will die of embarrassment.)

Indu nodded her head slowly and sat down in a chair in the kitchen, yawning and running a hand through her hair. It was hard, getting used to having the twins, and also trying to find out how she felt about Tenshi, and the other woman's advances.
Spes continued to suck on her binkie, eyes roaving the kitchen quickly before she tensed slightly and pulled it from her mouth to eye Rune in concern, almost as if trying to warn her about something she knew was going to happen.
"Sion."
Stupid English. What an annoyingly difficult language. Exasperated, the baby stuck the binkie back in her mouth and blinked at the woman.

"What, sweetie?" Rune raised an eyebrow, glancing down at Spes as she tugged open a cabinet to rummage inside. The baby almost seemed to be trying to tell her something - but what? Tex and Cody could take care of themselves, and there wasn't anyone else in the house -
- of course, that was if one ignored the familiar, nearly-naked young man who had just entered from one of the hallways.
Arms raised, the male obviously had no idea he wasn't alone, towel obscuring his vision as he rub-dried his thick, dark hair. Well-tanned, he wore nothing except a bath towel tucked casually around his waist; his feet were bare, and drips of water still clung to his skin in a few places. He was humming to himself, something that sounded like a Christmas carol. "All the lights are shining - "
"Bingo." Cody whispered, half-strangled as he did his best not to laugh.

Spes shot a casual look to the doorway, quietly sucking on her binkie. So much for warning Rune about the dimension thing.
Indu's eyes grew wide and she started to giggle, quietly at first, but the laughter grew in volume until she was flat out cracking up.
"And who, is this? Flint, right? What were you doing before I showed up, Runie dearest?!"

"What are you - " Rune half-turned before she registered the humming; her face turned white in shock, then a brilliant crimson red. Her jaw dropped as she realized the state of her 'houseguest.' "FLINT!!!"
Her yell and the laughter made Flint jump, eyes widening as the towel in his hands fell to the floor. "Aw, son of a b***h, not again." He flushed nearly as dark as Rune, more than a little shocked. Stooping, he did his best to gather the fallen covering as Rune shouted. "You said you had it fixed!!"
"I thought we did!" Still blushing, Flint retreated rapidly down the hall again, a door out of sight closing a few seconds later. His voice was quite abashed. "Um - hello, m'am."
Rune looked very much like she wanted to die. "We weren't doing ANYTHING." She managed emphatically, unable to look at Indu. "It's a dimensional thing - somehow, the doors in the house are set to different places we frequent. So you could walk down one hall and suddenly be in Illuzen. Apparently, Flint's house is still connected."
