The taut muscle under Monday's coat shivered with anticipation as the dark colored moon goddess lurked among the foliage. She'd wandered away from the shop, and the town, eager to indulge in her animal instinct to hunt which seemed exaggerated by the bright moon tonight.

Cream colored eyes watched carefully and silently before she spotted movement dart by and she pounced from hiding spot, breaking into a chase after shadows. Being a goddess, she was larger then most foxes but her large wings kept her light on her feet and the agile creature had no problem dodging obstacles.

Losing sight of the shadow she was chasing, she stopped, resting her full weight on her paws and glanced about, sniffing the air for the scent of anyone or anything nearby.

Solstice wandered about the the wooded area outside the shop. The crisp, cold snow between his toes shot pleasant shivers up his spine. He hadn't the slightest idea of what he was wanting to do, so he just continued wandering about.

His ears snapped back as soon as he heard soft steps in the snow. Pausing for a moment, he listened intensely, twitching his ears about in different direction trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. After a minute or so he shrugged it off and frosted some leaves on a tree nearby with his frost breath and continued his walk.

Monday's tail flicked behind her as she caught a whiff of a nearby presence. Somewhat. It was too chilled to identify but she attributed that to the cold weather. Wondering if it was her lost shadow she was previously hunting, she tightly folded her wings against her, wings that reflected the night sky and provided excellent camouflage under such pristine conditions.

Prowling about, she caught sight of another fleeting shadow, unawares it was god fox much like herself, and pounced. "Oh!" Her fur bristled with embarrassment as she quickly back up, looking to the winter god with wide, confused eyes. She wasn't expecting someone to have wandered this far out, much less a deity. And to top it all off she had announced her presence by pouncing him. "I'm so sorry!" She said, lowering her head and flattening her ears as she tried to quell the wild adrenaline rush.

Solstice just about jumped out of his skin from the surprise of being pounced upon. "Oh goodness freakin gracious!" he yelped with wide eyes, only to turn and see a goddess being the attacker. He sat down in the snow, a paw over his heart, and breathing heavily.

After sitting there for a minute, he just looked at her and started laughing. "You scared the crap out of me!" he exclaimed. Throwing his head back he just laughed and laughed.

After a good couple minutes of all out laughter, he calmed down and started taking in breathes. Leaning forward, he took in one final deep breath, then slowly let it out. "Please forgive me miss. That just scared me so much that I was just about witless! Are you alright goddess?" he asked with concern, holding a paw out to her

Monday watched his reaction nervously, raising her head and tilting it curiously as he started laughing. "I'm... sorry?" She apologized again, unsure of what he found so funny about it and still a bit embarrassed.

"You don't need to ask for forgiveness, I did pounce you," She said, her tail moving nervously behind her. "I'm fine. Are you alright is the question," She said, almost like she was correcting him and padded about, looking him over with a bit of amazement. "You're like me!" She exclaimed, sounding more childlike now. She interacted so little with other foxes, she had never even seen another deity.

The rustle of brush and twigs snapping caused her to shift back into more of a hunter sort of way, nose snapping in the direction she'd heard it and large ears moving to try and get a better handle on it.

Solstice chuckled a bit by her reaction. "I was just apologizing for laughing dear~ Sometimes party one gets mad when part two laughs in a situation like this. Please.. No worries." He puffed out his chest and hit his chest with one paw while grunting and making a silly face. He couldn't help but laugh again. "Please forgive me. I'm just silly by nature."

Solstice smiled at her mannerisms when she noticed he was a god. "That's right little lady!" He winked at her and grinned. "Solstice, God o Winter at your service!" He took a bow. "And who might you be, dear goddess?"

His ears twitches at the sound of the snapping twigs. He cocked an eyebrow and pursed his lips, giving off a kind of smug/sneaky look, "I see... Hunting?"

"If you found it comical rather then offensive I see no issue," Monday responded quietly, turning her head back to face him, though her mannerisms remained tensed and alert, a tracker taking careful inventory of her surroundings.

She tilted her head at the bow and mimicked the sign of respect back to him. "My name is Monday," She responded, gracefully fluffing her wings that reflecting the stars, "Goddess of the moon." She kept her voice tempered to that quiet tone, as if she was wary someone else might be near, listening.

She lifted her head again to see his expression, confused as to what it could mean. "I was... before I lost my prey and... mistook you for the shadows I was chasing."

Her shoulders shifted behind her, and her lean body became tense with apprehension as if the slightest indication that any of the fauna was near would send her off in another wild chase. "Is the revered god of winter interested is such things?"

In attempt to not scare away her prey he also quieted his voice. "Wonderful to meet you in such an interesting way Monday."

Swishing his tail, excited at the thought of the hunt, he crouched down with a grin. "I'm not much for violence, but a good hunt really gets me going!" he quietly exclaimed. Shifting his weight to balance it out on all fours he glanced at her from the corner of his eye. "What are we hunting?"

Solstice's body shuddered with excitement. His ears slowly moved back and forth as he listened intensely for any movement of possible prey.

"Shadows," Monday responded, barely an audible whisper. It was to cold for her nose to pick up enough scent to identify what she had been chasing, but the idea of her outing was to feel the rush of the chase, so whatever creature was lurking at the other end of their game of tag, she didn't care to know.

She felt an odd sense of childish fun, or something like it. A quality that didn't normally come with the exhilaration off hunting. Maybe because for the first time she had someone else with her.

Ears moving with careful coordination, the moon goddess ruffled her dark feathers, shedding a few before she quickly announced, "There!" in half a breath and shot off through the brush and trees.

Solstice gave her a funny look at the answer, but shrugged it off. Shadows... interesting choice of prey... he thought to himself. I wounder what shadows taste like. He chuckled at the thought.

Swishing his tail back and forth slowly, he waited on her moved. He was merely there for the hellovit and didn't want to screw things up for her. When she dashed off he took a moment, then followed quickly behind her, his eyes searching ahead for the shadow that they were pursuing.

With no luck at seeing it past her, he just ran along, keeping a low profile, pretending he was a secret agent on the trail of an elusive criminal. His mind set changed from hunting to play as he started humming his "theme song" with a grinning on his face.

Monday pursued, totally engrossed in the chase before she closed in on what she was chasing, pouncing and finally catching the physical entity, which was a fat little hare, white in his winter coat.
She sat down and dropped the struggling creature to her forepaws, somehow managing to sooth his panicking and stroking his coat to make sure her capture hadn't damaged him.

She looked up to see Solstice following and laughed. "Are you singing?" She asked, obviously amused before releasing her catch with no problem.

Solstice saw her attack and rushed up behind her to see the poor little hare. "Awwww.. Poor fella is prolly scared to death" he chuckled as he watched her soothe the panicking creature, then smiled as it was released.

When she asked him about his singing his eyes darted back and forth as he grinned. "Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe~"

Slightly embarrassed that she had heard him he began to explain. "Well, you see..." He scratched the back of his head with his paw "Usually when I run about.... Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii makeupathemesong!" He laughed a bit after quickly spitting that out. "I'm a goofball by nature I guess, and well.. it's fun."

Monday tilted her head, taking a moment to process his mashed sentence before laughing and trotting over, tail swaying back and forth behind her absentmindedly.

"I think it's funny," She said with an obviously amused smile before giving a bit of a 'thinking' expression. "You 'theme'... for this situation. What was that?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 06, 2010 3:39 pm

Solstice smirked at her amusement. He leaned over and whispered "As long as I'm funny and not funny lookin', right? He pulled back up and let out a hearty laugh, his tail flopping about.

He quieted down for a moment and paused to think, bringing his paw up to his chin he began tapping it. "Welllllllllll... This time I was doing my secret agent theme song." He head bobbed when he emphasized 'secret agent'.

"I was hot on the trail of an elusive criminal! They were getting away so fast after snagging up some jewels!" He started getting more animated as he went along, his paws flailing all over the place as he talked with them too. He lowered his voice and crouched down like he was telling something secret. "I've been tailing this criminal for some time now, and they are... well..." He shot himself right back up and with a loud voice he exclaims "Just at the top of their game! We're like neck n neck I tells yah!"

He proceeds to spin her an elaborate tale of espionage, betrayal, and other.. secret agent... stuff.

Monday held a paw up as she let out a quiet laugh at his whisper.

She sat there, listening to him with an engaged smile, he tail flicking behind her back and forth. "Secret agents?" Though, she knew nothing of half the things he mentioned, she still listened like she did.

"Well, gee 'Agent' Solstice... That sure sounds like a fantastic tale," She giggled, hopping up to stand on all four of her paws. Her back end shifted like a cat before it takes aim to pounce and her wings fluffed again, her whole body unable to keep still for long.

"But how can you be such an amazing criminal catcher when you can't even keep up with me?" She asked, an almost devious expression on her face.
