Haumea had been a mzazi for a while now but she was still finding that it was much, much easier to listen and learn than it was to actually do. So far, she'd mostly been trying to observe everybody and combine the varying techniques and behaviors but she had decided she ought to come up with something of her own. Something she intended to do but she was not feeling very cheerful or productive at the moment, which was unusual for her, she had wandered away. Not far enough she couldn't be seen or couldn't keep an eye out for anybody trying to sneak away, though. She stood at her distance and paced silently, thinking. It was hard not to socialize almost continually in the job she had taken up now, so it was hard to think it was loneliness. She decided she was just overwhelmed and that her decision to take a break was a good one. She paused in her pacing, looking around, her tail swishing against the ground calmly.
"Hmph."

By now, this pride had become more than security and safety to Kiongozi'anana. Over time, as he'd raised the offspring of the pride, guiding them to their place in it...it had become something more. It had become a home, something he hadn't had for a very long time.
In truth, he had become part of this pride.
Such thoughts were far from his mind when he noticed Haumea. She...looked troubled. Friendly Haumea did not often look troubled...
"Nice day, isn't it?" he greeted her, trying hard not to act like he'd just been 'eavesdropping.'
And failing.

She shouldn't have been as surprised as she was when she realized someone was coming over, but she was. She didn't quite jump but she did shake her head to snap herself out of whatever daze she'd allowed herself to fall into and take a deep breath.
"Lovely," she responded, putting on a small smile, not seeming to pick up on or care that he'd have seen her worrying, "I didn't mean to wander, I'm not too far away am I?" She looked around them, she had been careful not to go too far but her opinion might not quite match that of someone else. Besides, it seemed the most likely reason to approach her.

"Ah...no, you're not too far." One ear flicked back uncertainly, and for a moment Kio busied himself with staring at his feet. She wouldn't have been over here by herself unless she didn't want to be bothered...but he was already bothering her by being here, wasn't he? In that case...breath huffing out in a sigh, he raised his head to smile nervously. "Is everything alright? You're...quiet today."
