The HQ seemed to be serene today, well... as serene as a hideout for a criminal organization could be.

"YEAH! GET HIM!"

Okay maybe not serene at all. Infact it was quite noisy from the direction of the break room. A sizable hub for Rockets to relax on their off time, equipped with wireless internet, video game systems, a pool table, and what not.

However, this day a crowd of shouting and jeering Rockets, from all different ranks, were huddled around a corner of the room.

All sorts of shouts, curses, cheers, and just general noise came from that area.

Alongside a wall, one blond agent tried to avoid the thick of the crowd and watched with little interest. Her brows furrowed and mouth half cocked in a disproving frown. There was no huge black Pidgeot at her side today, as the looming bird was far too big and easily agitated to have around this bunch of hooligans.

Instead, a pair of Eevee sat at her heels. One normal looking was all fluffed up, ears turned forward and watching what was going on with a keen interest. While the other, a white one, shivered and huddled behind both the other Eevee and her trainer.

User Image"Oh, is it fight night?" Another blond Rocket had appeared behind Nikki, peering over her shoulder at the commotion. A nervous Chimecho was perched on her head, gripping its tail with nubby arms, partially covering its face. "Who's the good money on tonight?"

"Chi.."

For once, Sam was not at the center of the commotion, either as a participant or as an instigator. Instead, she quietly put away her computer and disentangled herself from a chair she'd come to think of as hers. Afterall, she'd written her name on the back, and that was as good a claim as any, right?

A quick glance around gave her a point of reference as she slid over to a spot of calm among the riffraff. She grinned and waved a greeting to the blonde rocket with the eevees. "Wanna make a bet on who the winner's gonna be?" she asked with a head bob towards the overly crowded corner.

Shake-shake-shake

Kofuku paused a moment from her typical mischief, the can of silly string in her hand. There was noise coming from down the hall, and it wasn't something she'd caused; she knew that because she hadn't had time to booby-trap the pool table yet. Pocketing her can, she whistled to her pokemon. "Hiromi, come on, lets see what's happening."

Hiromi, the small Eevee that was currently in the serious business of tail chasing, perked up at her trainer's whistle and gladly bound after the girl as they headed into the room.

Crossing her arms after entering the scene, Kofuku raised an eyebrow. "Wonder what this is all about..."

Nikki tried to hide her annoyance as two people decided to talk to her. She didn't need to even look to see who the first person addressing her was. She knew TRP's voice well enough by now. She was a senior officer as well, thus she just couldn't simply ignore her.

She nodded towards the pair in the makeshift ring.

"Agent Jake's Raticate is the favorite it seems. From what I hear, he's undefeated. Going up against some Trainee's Spearow."

Normals were the favored type after all. Less messy for indoor fights and they usually didn't get the bystanders injured either. A stray bolt of electricity or burst of flame could do quite a bit of damage in here.

With her arms folded across her chest, the fingers of one hand drummed impatiently against the opposing arm.

"Raaaaticate!" The large rat Pokemon lept for the bird, who managed to dodge the first attack from the rodent's incisors. The little bird was fast at least, but would that be enough against the brute?

"Spearow!" It countered with a sharp peck to the Raticate's skull, drawing a pained shriek.

Bira seemed to be getting into it. The fiesty little Eevee growled, her fur all puffed out and jumping back and forth, prentending she was in the fight too.

"Not really," was the agent's reply to Sam. Only sparing him a glance since she didn't know who he was. Must be someone new.

User ImageFurin, the Chimecho perched on TRP's head, peeked over her tail at the fight. When the Spearow landed a blow she hid her face again. The little Windchime Pokemon wasn't a fan of such rowdy activities. A Pokemon fight between two trainers was one thing, but messy brawling between two Pokemon with no trainer commands amidst this mob of screaming rockets was far too much.

"Still undefeated, huh? I keep waiting for some new kid to take that rat down a peg." TRP muttered, unperturbed by the nervous Pokemon on her head. "Lost $50 last time I bet against it."

"Ah, that's no fun," Sam responded with a superficial pout. "You already seem to know the spread. A little bit of an unknown adds some spice to these things."

She glanced over at the other blond, one she vaguely recognized as being Very Important (TM). "Really," she said, filling that little tidbit away for future reference. "Maybe I'll have to give it a go sometime. Ghost types probably be frowned on, then." Sam said, more to herself than anyone else, as she watched the fight.

Seeing the three Rockets apart from the crowd, Kofuku took a breath and walked over to them. Hiromi was behind her, but the Eevee wasn't paying attention to where she was going; instead her interest was on the fight she could hear going on behind all those people. Some of the people smelled funny, like they hadn't bathed, and the little Eevee wrinkled her nose.

"Heeeey, what's going on?" Kofuku asked the three girls, giving a small grin that looked more like a smirk.

Nikki turned a scowl on Sam. "Even if I did have money to throw away at this pointless garbage. The Pokepit is nothing but a mindless "sport" and is a waste of my time."

She snorted and peered down at Bira who growled and crouched as if she was going to pounce. Figures.

Byakko flattened her ears back and peered up at Nikki with wide red eyes as her trainer raised her voice. Eek.

The Spearow continued its assault on the Raticate, seeming to gain ground as it came in from every side, pecking here and there. Its confidence getting a boost as it continually avoided the snaps from the Raticate.

That is until a sickening crunch filled the air. The bystanders wincing before a cheer arose. The Raticate now effectively chewing up and spitting out the Spearow, who was twitching and badly injured.

Nikki snorted in disgust. "Seems its over anyway. What a waste." She could have used a bird like that. But to most people around here a Spearow was just a trash Pokemon to throw into these stupid fights. Whatever.

User Image"Oh, don't deny the new recruits their fun, Nikki. The pit isn't for everyone but I've seen some strong Pokemon emerge from the sweaty mess." Of course TRP would never subject any of her Pokemon to such mindless idiocy, but it kept the recruits happy.

She straightened up and turned her attention on Kofuku, "Fight night. Money's on the raticate, if you're looking to wager."

In her own eyes, Raticate was a disgusting creature, she knew allot of newbies like herself around here were known to train them, most to carry on the grunt tradition it seemed, but she found no grace in the vermin, and watching one fight, was most certainly not on her list of enjoyable time wasters.
Faleen hesitated at the door of the rec room as she arrived, this much noise usually meant a pit fight. sitting out of it would not give her the image she wanted to portray to the others, but the look on her face betrayed her disgust. if only it was a different pokemon, she would be more inclined to join in the others.

standing next to her, his large red eyes suddenly fixed on the crowd of people was her Umbreon, the dark pokemon standing stock still next to his master.

Ouch. Sam jerked her hand, waving it around in the air as if she'd just been burned. "Fiery, ain'tcha? My pardon, Miss Agent. Everyone likes to waste resources in their own ways. This one's obviously not yours." Still, her eyes were merry, even if the smile had slid from her face. "Ah, well, win some, lose some." She brushed a finger against one of the pokeballs at her waist, pondering. "Definately need some more training, before I try that."

"This fight club happen regularly?" She asked, hoping someone would answer, since she wasn't counting on Miss Two Eevve Agent being friendly and forth comming.

Kofuku winced a little, hearing the sickening crunch. She didn't even need to turn around to know that the Spearow wasn't going to last much longer. "Meh, I don't do gambling; it's a waste of money." In reality, she didn't like the idea of the pokemon killing each other for the amusements of humans. Yes, they used pokemon, but for World domination not for disgusting fight pits.

Hiromi's ears drooped down the instant the crunch was heard, and she whimpered a little, pressing against her trainer's leg.

"Yes ma'am" Nikki grumbled a bit. Superiors were about the only people that she would actually listen to. She gave a sigh, and brooded at her place against the wall.

She would never subject her Pokemon to such senseless slaughter. She had seen these strong Pokemon that TRP talked about, and it was true. ... Like that one guy's Persian that was missing an eye. She preferred to keep her Pokemon in one piece, thanks.

"Unfortunately, yes" came a deeper voice from behind the crowd just as its owner tapped TRP on the shoulder with a manila envelope. "Some paperwork for you, Terra." His tone completely flat and monotone as he glanced from TRP to the other surrounding agents, grunts, and trainees.

"It happens once a week. That's about all I can take of the noise."

User ImageAfter the crunch, Furin had pulled her tail completely over her head, "Chiiiime.."

TRP arched an eyebrow and glanced over her shoulder at Seth. She huffed a little sigh and accepted the envelope. "..please don't tell me these are more entry applications.. I went through a stack this morning.." She peered in the envelope, brow furrowing.
