Everything was so cold and harsh in this place. It seemed like everyday they would jab her and stick her with sharp objects and yet Nikki, the poor Scottish Fold, just couldn't fight back. She was the perfect rag doll for this situation. For now she was resting in her holding cell, laying on her stomach with her hands cupped tightly over her ears. Things seemed to change when they injected her with that stinging substance. It had hurt like hell, but she was alive, and she was grateful for that alone. "Can I go home now?" she spoke in a quiet, broken tone to a lady in a white scrub, cleaning the facility she guessed. Being quiet for the fact that if she was to loud her own voice hurt her ears. She didn't get any reaction from the female, though. Not that she expected it. She just continued cleaning and left after finishing up. The Scottish Fold sniffled and began to silently cry all by herself in this freezing metal cage.

The cleaning lady regarded Lorne as he slowly made his way around the place, limping when his foot that once was in tact tried to take a 'step'. Of course, he only walked like this to fool the humans--poor, old Lorne that couldn't run or climb stairs or jump correctly, right? It was a good act, in his opinion.

Slowly, he made his way into the back room where they kept the cats. Most were knocked out by now, drugged into a comatose state that made them seem like they were dead. But one voice kept standing out to him...the soft cries of that scottish fold that he'd run across once before on the outside. She didn't know that he had seen her, but he had seen many of the cats out and about in the dangerous forest multiple times...including those kittens that had first been taken by the facility.

"Dont cry," Lorne said softly, making his way a bit quicker to where her cage was. Leaping easily up onto one of the small gurney-like beds that they used for some of the cats, strapping them down and all that. "I'll help you," he was now nearly face to face with her--the poor woman looked mortified.

Outside of the human facility, a couple of small forms skirted the edges of the forest. They were still outside of the fenced compound, but definitely interested in getting in. One of the two, a tall Korat with dark hair, stared into the cold, foreign humanplace with worry in her eyes. A weird, sterile scent was wafting from the place, mingled with the fear scent of numerous cats. Turning to the bobtail next to her and her closest friend, Natsuki hissed quietly to her, "Demi-nee, you've been here before, right? How do we get in?" The girl's long tail brushed the ground slowly as she stared at the other. After learning of Nikki's capture, Natsuki had gone to the bobtail right away for help.

Of course, Demi knew of the place as soon as her younger charge began talking; recalling images of the dark night when she had helped Tempo get his litter back. She never wanted to come back to this place, but Natsuki could be so stubborn. In the end, the bobtail figured it was better that she accompanied the foolish girl instead of letting her wander into this hell on her own, and so here they were. Apparently the humans here were still catching cats for their strange purposes. Uneasy as she was with just her and the young korat here, she still searched the fenceline for the hole that they had used on the previous raid. In her mind, the bobtail cat retraced the route that Tempo's group had led them through before, hoping that it was still available to them. With vastly smaller numbers, there was more reason to worry. "Quiet, Natsu." She finally hissed back to the girl firmly, "I'm trying to find our way in now. Calm yourself so that you can help me get your friend back." She didn't look back to the younger cat, but they had been living together long enough now that she was certain the other girl would listen and understand.

When the human didn't pay any attention to her and continued on her routine cleaning route she curled up a little more so that she was laying on her side, balled up tightly. Hands still clasping over her folded ears as tears continued to stream slowly down her cheeks. Everything was seeming rather hopeless, and without hope things were all the more scary. She let her eyes shut tight, her mind clouded with all the sounds distracting her. There was just to much to register. When a sudden voice chimed in she jumped at the volume of how close it was. Her bright blue eyes shot open and saw a rather disturbing face in front of her cat. She let out a soft scream and quickly scampered to the back of her cage, putting as much distance between the two of them as possible.

Did he say he would help her? How could he help her? He didn't have an eye, he didn't have an arm! Yet, she was so desperate for a way out she didn't want to be concerned with his handicaps. She wanted to believe that he was honestly helpful and would assist her in escaping. "P-please? Please help me. I just want to leave..." She had so many questions about this place and the humans who had hurt her so, and not to mention what the heck was wrong with her ears, but her main focus for now was escaping. She crawled back to the edge of the cage again, coming face to face with him, but hesitating a little because of his appearance.
