Alright so the new Supernatural in my opinion was good for the first half, then it kinda just fell off. I thought the opening was genius, that is the kinda of acting I love jarred doing, a little socially ackward, and funny. Jarred as an actor has great control over his body and can act very funny just in his movements which made the begining a joy to watch.

"Hello my good man i'd like to purchase an alcoholic beverage, i'm 26 as you can see by my lincence."
"Are we talking sex?" "Sure I'd love to have the sex with you"

I also enjoyed the few places where gary talked about how hot he was.

It also did me justice to see gary being sam, he fit so naturally with dean (As many of the charactors in supernatural do.) For a moment I wished a part of sam wanted to be more like dean. and You could see the look in deans eyes when he felt like he and his brother were not so different. Like there was no way this kid is evil, i mean he is eating a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg on top, and hes drinking with me, not alone in some dark corner where he can sneak up on me in the night and talk to me in a drunken stuper about how sad everything is.

The Witch hunt was kinda pointless, all it did was give us doubt as to why this kid wants to kill dean, and it burned up and good 5-10 minutes time i think could have been used more intellegently

the episode pretty much died when sam was captured and that kid summoned the demon. the rest of the episode played out pretty boring, but the demon did do exactly want I said. The first thing i said when i saw that it was a body switch episode. (Could not tell from the preview) was "Man they should have put this episode further in the season cause right now that kid could give sams body away to Lucifer without even knowing what he did." And sure enough a demon tried to do with.

the episode did close pretty good, the kid didn't get hurt, he felt his crappy life was a little better, and dean realized he likes sammy just the way he is.

"Did he really have a good life?"
"No, that kids life sucked a**"

And so did the tail end of the episode.

Again I feel like so many possibilities were missed on this episode, being put in the position they were in so many worse things could have happened to the brothers and given us a chance to see where this season might be headed. So really two episodes have passed and we are no closer to advancing the plotline then we were before christmas. I just think that they could have used that demon the kid summoned to help further us on Lucifer and Sam, and maybe even tell us more about why Dean has a contract on his head.

All in all it was worth watching once, and i'll watch it again, at least the first part. Not the best episode of the season, nor the worst, it started great and had potential but turned out to be just alright.

I have to agree, the opening was GENIUS.
AH my little sister and I were giggling non-stop
at how awkward and TOTALLY ADORKABLE Jared was~ <3

Of course, Gary gets points taken away for
CRASHING THE IMPALA. D:<
If she had even one scratch on her, he would have been dead~

I don't really think the ending was all that bad. o:
It turned more serious at the end,
what with the demon and all.
but it brought up some interesting points too-
(1) Demons are after Dean. We sort of knew this already,
but this confirms it- they want him gone so Michael can't hop in.
(2) There's apparently no rule saying the person has to be in their
own body when they're jumped by an angel.

I guess the part I didn't like has been sort of a theme
of pretty much the last season and this one-
how different Sam and Dean are, and how there's so much conflict
between the because of it? Because it wasn't that way in the first few
seasons, but all of a sudden, they're too different to get along
as well as they used to.

There's been so much conflict between them lately,
I really want them to go back to being awesome brothers again. ; 3;

I also missed Dean this episode. He was there,
but it was like he wasn't~
My little sister missed Cas, she asked me were he was. xD"

I totally loved Sam in the begining too. My mom was watching it with me and was like, "what the heck is going on with Sam?" haha.

But this one to me is my least favorite of the season so far. But like Indu said it did point out some good things like, the demons want Dean dead and so on.

I also agree that I want them to be more brotherly like they were in the first seasons but I mean who can blame them for how the act they now since they BOTH started the apocalypse.

Everyone in the show conveniently forgets that DEAN is just as responsible as SAM in the starting of all of it. Both of them didn't mean too but they did.

I was under the assumption that this ep was of Sam and Dean switching bodies, which I think would have been more effective. Those kids still could have tried to kill Dean but oops! Sam is really in Deans body and yada yada Lucy would have been mad if they killed Sam because Dean in Sams body would have told him 'HELL NO YOU AINT GETTIN' IN HERE!" and Lucy would have been out of luck.

I think I confused myself, if I confused anyone else sorry. I'm not too good at explaning things but hopefully you get what I sayin' lol.

But this episode was nice to show off Sam, we've been seeing a lot of Dean lately so it's Sammy turn. But I did miss Cas horribly.

BUT the preview for next weeks show was SWEEEEET because we know Cas will be there and Sammy gets to see his MOM!! Really excited about next weeks ep fo' sho'.

i dont like posting an essay, so imma just agree with the fact that we all love socially awkward sammy. ^^
and i thought the episode was quite good! i actually tend to love the funnier episodes more than the serious ones :l

At first I was slightly apprehensive about the episode, but I liked it overall. I do think it wound down by the end, but yeah the "I would love to have the sex with you" was just Awesome. rofl

One thing, I was surprised that Dean didn't notice that it wasn't Sam right off. I mean, I know it's a little hard to believe that someone else could be in your brothers body, but come on!!

Oh and another thing... when they switched back into their normal bodies, does anyone else think it was a bit too simple... I mean they just smoked it out.

I don't think the witch thing was pointless, in fact it's very normal. They were working the job when this happened, it would have been weird if they were just randomly there.

I didn't like the conflict either... I mean that's what the entire last season was about... I'd like this to be were they're getting to be brotherly again.

And I miss Cas also! That's TWO episodes he hasn't been in!

And why was Sam saying the Garry's life sucked? Wasn't he as much of a geek as this guy?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:34 pm

Those teenagers were EXTREMELY stupid, number one, so that kind of killed it. If it had just been Gary by himself (because his other two friends were douches.) than I may have liked it more.

Also, I agree 100% with Danielle Chase about Dean not noticing. My mom and I both agreed he should have known better and that maybe they should have a "safeword" or signal so they know it's really them.

AND YES. I MISS CAS.

I totally agree as well that Dean should have known that he wasnt Sam the minute he decided to order a burger instead of his healthy Shake salade..... and when he was all juiced up on killiing that ghost... This was not a good episode for Dean...

I'm going to be quite blunt.

I thought it was a load of crap.

The body swap idea is something you can only really do once in a show and they completely ******** up their chance to do it well.
I was under the impression Dean and Sam were supposed to switch which would have been infinitely better.
But this random nobody who's life was oh so terrible because his parents wanted him to do well with his life?
Maybe make the parents more tyrannical and I'd have bought him.
And Dean not noticing?
Bullshit.
He would have known from the get go.
Speaking of Dean, uh, what the ******** was going on with him?
He was awful.
But my language kink was hit with the Latin and his "Shut up" passing Gary!Sam behind the Impala was funny.
But Dean became fanfic Dean, he had no real development.
DNW.

Those kids were annoying as all hell as well, Nora was the only one with any talent.
And even she was annoying.
They do get points for a Pantera flag though.

Sam and Crystal was amusing but it wasn't enough to save it.

Almost as bad as The Real Ghostbusters.
But not quite.

Now, Show, you make up for this next week with Dean/Cas.
YES?!

Doesn't even have to be slashy, I've just missed their intense onscreen friendship.

Are we actually criticizing Kripke? That's like....saying "Jesus was great and all but you know he could have done a better job staying alive." You just don't do it xp
PostPosted: Sat Jan 30, 2010 8:06 am

Oh I'm not criticising Kripke, he didn't write the episode - although he will have let it go through.
It's Siege I have an issue with.
Why does she keep doing episodes?

It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester, I really didn't like it but I'm in the minority on that.
Criss Angel Is A Douchebag, boring as all hell.
The Monster At The End Of This Book, pretty decent.
Fallen Idols, awful.
Swap Meat, awful.

Surely they've noticed that these episodes all tend to suck.

I'm going to have to agree with you Vee. I really don't pay attention to who writes these ep's besides Kripke, if he does i'll notice.

But if she wrote those episodes then yeah, those are some of my NOT favorites, except the monster at the end of this book.

It's just this one dissapointed me in many ways because I think of what it COULD have been rather than what it was.

Just to clear up a few things.

What i mean by the witch hunt being pointless is that they could have set it up that there was not a witch, but rather the strange happenings where because of garys friend messing around with that book. That way we would not have had to waste so much time meeting that family, and spending time in the basement, ect ect....Also and I the only one who thought that girl with the scratched up stomach needed a different shirt???

Yes I know without gary killing the witch they would not have had the party, but they could have stopped something else that gary's friend had summoned or done, and gary could have been oblivious of it. I just personily think they could have done something more meaningful then practically a random witch that could have taught lessons or helped give us clues about the plot line.

And I can't believe i forgot to talk about the Impala! I knew it was comming when Dean says "its in reverse......ITS IN REVERSE!..... BANG!!!!...... DUDE!!!!!!!" I still winced.

Also I don't think killing dean is really the plan....I mean if dean dies he goes to hell, and the angels have already yanked him once....I think they could do it again, i mean it was only Cas, if an arcangel tried he would succeed, and dean being as vitally important as he is now......I mean it could very well be a contract to kill, I just think it would kind of be a waste.

A Side note about Seige, I actually heard they were thinking about dropping her at the end of season 4, but after the fan fair that "The monster at the end of this book" got they didn't. Probibly though she could deliever another good episode.....

And lastly, i understand why the brothers feel the way the do towards each other now, They have slowly been growing apart since the end of season 3. when dean came back in season 4 Sam was a different person. Then sam keeps hiding stuff from dean, dean is hiding stuff from sam, sam is drinking demon blood and they have that fight where Dean says "You walk through that door dont come back we are no longer brothers."

Sure they say they forgive each other, but did they really, and even if they did that stigma will alway be in there relationship. PLus they are trying to drive them apart for one of two reasons. To give the audiance a reason to think Lucifer will actually get sams body, or because it really is going to happen.

Ah yuh. I'm can't really say I seriously dislike any episodes,
because they all have their redeeming parts to me,
but.... Siege doesn't have the greatest track record. D;

I really, really liked It's The Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester,
and Monster At The End of This Book...
but I have to agree with Vee here, the other ones
she's done have not been quite up to par.
I think she might do well at another show, but her style doesn't
seem to blend with the other writers-
it seems like she needs some big event, like the revealing of Chuck,
or heck even the several big ideas in The Great Pumpkin.
Her "normal" episodes just don't quite cut it.

Admittedly though- the fact that it wasn't Sam and Dean that
swapped actually gets me more excited.
I think, if they had swapped, there would be almost no way
to keep it from becoming a "I walked a mile in your shoes" type of deal.
It might have been interesting, but damn! Cliche alert!
Now I'm eager to see how Sam and Dean's relationships are patched back together- not because of some spell, but through more... natural means.
I don't think any of us ever want there to be a magical solution in SPN,
because the fact that there isn't grounds the whole show.
