Zia Marvilla was far from being a lunar lion, but she sure loved her night time outings. As her mother had spoken of the spirits and the stars, she had spent her life learning folk tales, fables, and conspiracy theories of the night time skies. Yes, she was a bit out there, and yes others thought her strange and occasionally incomprehensible, but Zia Marvilla was far too in love with her own interests to bother with everyone else's standard of normal.
And tonight, the night still new, was a beautiful one. Clear skies and no moon, darkness that shielded her from sight, and most of all stars that had the best chance now than at any time to shine in their full glory. Zia Marvilla [iloved clear no moon nights.
It gave her perfect opportunity to ponder the stories she knew and to weave new ones. "And with the moon swiftly kicked away for the night and left to hide in its own shadow, the minature guardians of the sky are able to prove their beauty and worth..." She murmured.
The darkness might hide her, but Zia's tendency to talk on always revealed where she was, and in the still, night air, even her quiet murmurings could carry far.

Rodel was an adverturous sort. Never really being able to stay in one place for long because he wanted to see everything there was to see. The other lions he would meet along the way usually thought him odd for traveling by himself, he paid them no mind. Truth was, he rather enjoyed it. He loved going where he pleased on his own time, just the sky and the wind to guide him. Perhaps he was searching for something without knowing it. Rodel sang as he walked, as he usually would do. His head tilted back with his mane waving from the slight breeze. He believed that if he sang while he traveled, it would please the sky and lead him to a new adventure. He stopped by a rock, his singing grew quiet as he stepped up the rock and looked over the area where he was. A small smile spread across his face as he closed his eyes and started to sing louder.

Zia hunkered down in surprised, then waggled her tail in amusement at the singing. Settling herself in stalk mode, the lioness came up as closely as she did to the male that was singing. Once in place, she stood swiftly, belting out loudly the last few words of the line he was on.
She grinned. "Bravo, bravo, master singer!" Taking a few steps back, body in a welcoming yet submissive position to show that she was only there to meet, Zia gave the new male a bow. "Good night! I am Zía Marvílla. Other than honoring us with your voice, what are you up to?"

Rodel had almost fallen off the rock when she joined in, not having expected anyone to even be around. After tripping over his paws for a second, he finally caught his balance and looked at her. He blinked when he saw her bowing and smiled a bit, returning the bow "It's my pleasure to sing to the stars and others." he said and decided to step off the rock before he fell off. He jumped off and sat in the grass "Well, I was just going for a walk amd seeing where the stars would lead me to. To be honest, I wasn't expecting any other lions to be around here." he said and curled his tail around his side "Oh, forgive my manners. Sometimes I forget I have them." he put his paw infront of his chest and bowed his head "I am Rodel. Also titled as 'The Wandering Oddity' by my friends." he said with a slight laugh.

Zia stood her full height as Rodel spoke and she realized the other lion was not offended at her presence. As he spoke, her grin became wide. Oh, she was sure she was going to enjoy having met him.
"The stars make both excellent guides and audiences, while manners do not always behoove us in the way our parents would like to have us think. Mr. Wandering Oddity, wouldn't it be a great adventure to find where the stars fall?" She looked up, flicking her tail and hoping for a lucky shooting star at the moment. None came, but she assumed he'd seen the few she'd caught that night if he'd been using them as guides. So she looked in the direction they had streaked. "Sometimes I wonder what great adventures they seek out. I'll race you even!"
Zia prances a little in her place, not expecting to ever find a star's landing spot, but having always found herself on adventures in chasing after them.

Rodel lifted his head back up, looking at her again "My parents joined the stars when I was young." he said and looked up at the sky "I have yet to see where the stars meet the earth. That is one of my goals of adventure as well." he smiled "Truly, my friend Zia, you are a lioness after my own heart." he stood up "Did you see the stars that were heading in this direction?"

"Then you are a lion after the heart of my family. My mother communes with the stars, lucky her, and both my sisters are lunars, lucky them. But I have the fortune to be able to travel after them! I most certainly did, and that is why I am going in this direction. Are you coming?"
The lioness jumped up a bit, trotting a few feet, then circling her head to see if Rodel would follow. "To the stars, and to further adventure!"

Rodel smiled, walking after her "If that is where you are going too then I see no reason why we can't go together." he said and caught up to her side "May the stars shine brighter and the adventure be even better with a new friend." he laughed and trotted ahead.

"Yes, and the sky always clear to show their brilliance!" Zia agreed, trotting up beside him. "What is your favorite land to wander? Or the best sight you have seen?"
Zia was curious about this new friend of hers, very excited that he seemed to show a similar interest. For now, she would be content to listen to stories, but would be equally as happy to deal them out.
OOC: Do you want to see this go anywhere in particular, Elven, or maybe close it off to start a new thread with an adventure of some sorts?

(I think we could stick in this thread for a bit and see where it goes. I think they're cute together.)
Rodel looked up in thought. It was hard to pin out just any one of the things he has seen on his travels. He opened his mouth "I'd have to say I enjoyed this one time I was walking through a large plain." he closed his eyes "It was nighttime and all of a sudden there was a single shooting star. It lit up the entire sky around it." he looked back at her "That's one start I'm searching for and hoping to meet again." he finished and looked back ahead as they walked "What about you?" he asked, glancing at her with just his eye.

Zia walked, watched the sky, and listened, paying no heed as to where it was she was stepping, but not having a problem for that at the moment.
"Hmm...Try anything doubled. I like untroubled lakes when they reflect everything the sky has to say. Lots of my favorite memories of the night time, but this one really is too good to pass up. You know how the sky, once it has rained, is a special red at sunup or sundown? At sundown, the sky was like that, with all the extra colors and everything, and it was that time of day where the moon mingles with the day and the brightest two or three stars have shown up, but things were still very colorful. The lake reflected that, and it was like I was on the sky itself."
Her eyes searched the sky as she spoke, as if seeing both what was there and clearly recalling the memory. She turned to look to Rodel with a grin. "But lakes are very busy, so then some animals came up to drink out of it and the whole effect was dropped. That is why you find me wandering alone in places one doesn't expect to see another and randomly singing in response to someone else."
She chortled a little, looking down a moment, half-jumped and half-trotted over a few roots, and settled to walking again. "I distract myself enough."

Rodel had his eyes closed, envisioning what she was saying "I have seen the sky like that too." he looked back over at her "The sun, the moon as the stars as one. It's not something one can really notice when they're in a large group." he swayed his paws around some roots, tripping a bit and tried to hide it "I meant to do that." he said and laughed.

"Oh really?" Zía Marvílla laughed more at Rodel's comment than his tripping, fully distracted away from the original conversation for that one thing. "Good, I'm glad you did, because I didn't want to have to challenge the evil roots of the lands. You know, I think they rise up and try to trip us like on purpose all the time. It's a conspiracy," Zia lowered her voice, her eyes shining mischievously as she got on one of her very favorite rambles. "You know? Like the plants are trying to take over the world, one tripping lion at a time!"
Zia looked at the ground, then turned to pounce at a weed growing up to give it a good swap for conspiring against Rodel. She looked up and gave Rodel a head tilt, fully interested in what his response to the ramble might be.

Rodel laughed "I think you may be on to something. One time I fell asleep in a field and when I woke up, I was covered in grass and pollen. I think they were trying to take over my body." he shared the mischievous look as he stepped on a weed by him as well "Trying to use me as a slave. Take that ya little bugger." he said and looked down at his paw "That's two of your minions down."

Zia gave an appreciative laugh, "No, no, you have it all wrong! Stomping on them will not avail. We must dig their very roots out of the land and replant them upside down, so they get confused and attempt to trip worms instead of lions. All the evil pollen will be buried before it gets the opportunity to come forward." She paused to look up at a tree. "This... could be a difficult project. We needa recruit all the prides of the land. Then we can fly away happy on stardust off of fallen stars."
She purred, realizing fully how ridiculous she sounded, but being pleased by it.
