I keep on hearing how everybody hates Matt Smith already, and he hasn't even had a full episode yet! It's just like when David Tennant started all over again! People hated him for the first few episodes because he replaced Christopher Eccleston after only one series, and yet Chris had only signed up for one series in order to help ressurect Doctor Who, just like David Tennant decided to leave in order to give someone else the chance to be the Doctor, rather than him just staying on for even longer, which could of either made it more difficult for him to leave/even more difficult for fans, or the other way around, with everybody starting to get sick/bored of David Tennant. SO GIVE MATT A CHANCE!!! (and if he screws up, then we can lynch him xd ).

David Tennant will always be MY Doctor, but I'm willing to give Matt Smith a chance. I was one of the people who was pissed about Eccleston getting replaced, and I was sure as hell wrong about that.

THANKYOU! I'm so tired of people saying hes going to be a horrible Doctor, when they have yet to really show us what hes got. Every doctor is different. And quite honestly I think Smith will do an excellent job.

I do hope so. And if his reign is bad, I wont blame it on him.
The recent specials have been very corny, and I hope that dosnt continue.

It's sad - one of my best friends who I was able to get to watch Doctor Who said her reason of watching Doctor Who regenerated. It made me giggle, but I hope she'll continue watching Matt Smith play - I know I will, even with a new Doctor, I'm addicted to the sci-fi in this show <3 But, man, will I miss allons-y.

I was also wary of David Tennant. In fact, after Eccleston's regeneration I stopped paying watching because the guy replacing him looked like a chicken with funny hair. But now that I've started watching again, I agree that Tennant is among the best. So I'll reserve most of my judgment until after I see how the guy with the boxy features and girly hair with a bowtie does whee

After the very long death scene of Tennent, I look forward to something different. I'm looking forward to Matt Smith as the Doctor, looking forward to Steven Moffat as head writer. The show will take probably look a bit different next which will be nice.

I'm looking forward to Smith's 11th Doctor as well, honestly it didn't bother me when they changed actors from 1st to 2nd series. I'm just hoping to see some good episodes...more to it than just who plays the role.

I love David just as much as the next person, but I have high hopes for Matt. I was skeptical about him at first, but if he is a good actor I am sure he will pull off the role well. C'mon Spring time!

Personally I cant wait for the next doctor (smith). Regeneration a part of who the Doctor is, and we get a fresh new take on his character. I dont see why people dont embrace the regenerations. I understand being a fan of a particular incarnation, but hes still the Doctor, character flaws and all.

Honestly I liked David but not to the extent of being a fan, I have liked all of the Doctors in some way so really I don't care about changing the Doctor its apart of the show. I think Matt will make it to my list of Preferred Doctor's , But I just wish that all these Tennant fangirls that only started watching because of how good looking the Doctor was and all the fans that just want the show to be about the 10th Doctor and Rose going through time being in love with each others should really just read fan fictions for the rest of there lives because apperntly no other Doctor will do. But those of us who are real Whovians will enjoy what Matt Smith brings to the Roll of The 11th Doctor.

Well, having stuck around with Doctor Who throughout it's ups and downs since the Peter Davison era, I of course will be giving Matt Smith a chance... and even if the show sucks I'll still keep watching, because Doctor Who is like a bad habit I can't kick.
The previews make me cautiously optimistic that Matt Smith won't suck.
