It was the classic definition of a beautiful day, one with the sun shining down and a slightly cloudy sky, one perfect for looking for shapes. There was a slight breeze but nothing too harsh for a young one. It was the sort of day where you would want to go on a picnic, or to the park or, in this case, the zoo.
Pippin was beaming, tugging on his mother's sundress as he spoke, trying his best not to be too hyper and annoying, "Mother! Mother is he hewe yet!? Is he?" asked the spawn, about ready to burst with excitement. He hadn't seen Vali for awhile, so when he had heard their mothers had talked and arranged a meeting he had be anxious for it ever since. After all, nothing like seeing your best friend!
"Don't worry honey, he'll get here soon enough." his mother laughed gently. Never before had she seen her son so excited to be out in public and socializing. He had been excited for the chance to spend time with another! How exciting!

The bus had been running late. So Dooma and Vali had been delayed by ten minute. They had made plans with Vali's best friend Pippin and his mother to meet up and go to the zoo together. Vali had been so happy to hear that they could see animals with his best friend. Dooma was wondering wither or not to let the two spawn go running off on thier own or if they should all just go together.
But soon enough she could see the zoo and a bright winged spawn waiting near the gate. As soon as they were off the bus Vali was pulling on her hand trying to get them to hurry to the gate.
Vali smiles brightly, "I can not wait! Do you really think they will be there? I can not wait to see him! And we are going to go to the zoo! I have always wanted to go!" He giggles and when he finally sees Pippin's back he smiles and moves to try and sneak up on his friend. He moves slowly and motions for Pippin's mother to be quiet as he sneaks over and blows gently on the soft ear wings.

Celi tried her best not to giggle, biting her lip slightly to hold in the laughter before looking down at her child and speaking to him in an attempt to distract the young boy. She figured she might as well help the metal-boy out, let him have a little bit of fun. After all, boys would be boys right? Of course. "So what animals are you excited to see today sweetie?" she asked, holding her son's attention for the moment at least.
Pippin's eyes grew wide at the question, and he paused for a moment to think. He seemed rather deep in thought, as if the question was very important and required the utmost certainty before being answered. "Umm, I think some birdies, because they have wings." he said, tugging at his own that were placed neatly on his head, "Like mine!" he said with a large, beaming smile, totally unaware of the prowling spawn sneaking up behind him.

As Pippin pulled his ear Vali stopped trying to blow on his ears. He smiles and then slowly his hands move down to brush against the soft feathers, "I would like to see the birds too. But I really want to see the sloths." he said gently with a laugh. "Good morning Pippin. I am so glad to see you again!" he smiles and wraps his arms around Pippin in a warm hug.
This was going to be a prefect day! There would be nothing that could go wrong this day. He was with his two favorite people in the world.

Pippin giggled wildly as his ears were blown on and he whirled around when he heard the oh-so-familiar voice of his best friend, "Vali!" he said, gratefully accepting the hug and putting his own arms around the other in return. "Vali we're gonna see lots and lots of animals aren't we? I'm so excited!" he said, slightly giddy. He wasn't sure which he was more excited for, the animals or Vali. Though obviously in the long run it was Vali~
Celi smiled at Dooma, waving her hand lightly in a quick greeting. The two mothers had briefly met before, and had obviously arranged the meeting. Celi was just happy that her young boy was out and about, that was more than she could have ever hoped for, to see him playing with his friends and so happy.

Vali laughed warmly and with his arms securely around Pippin he spun around. “How are you my princess?” He asked in a warm tone. And as he let go of Pippin he nodded , “Oh yes I have been waiting all week for this! I really want to see as many as we can!” He could not say how glad he was to get to be with Pippin again. He loved getting to spend time with his princess.
“Where should we go first. I hear they have a big two level bus we can ride on and see the whole zoo first. Then we could go to walk it.”
Dooma smiles at the woman she had met a short time ago and was now working with. “So Celi it is nice to see you again. A fine day for the zoo.”

Pippin did his best to hold in his excitement as he felt Vali wrap around him, "I'm great! 'Specially now! I missed you!!" a little bit of the boy's ecstatic behavior that was normally deep, deep down showing through for his friend. "Yeah! Maybe we can see all of the aminals!" he said, mixing a few letters like children sometimes did, causing his mother to laugh gently. "Yeah! Let's ride da bus! Can we mother?" the young spawn said, turning to his mother and tugging on her dress a tad as he awaited her response.
Celi smiled at the other woman, "Yes, very nice to see you as well. It's quite a wonderful day!" the cheerful woman said, a large smile spread across her tender lips. She then turned to her child, "Of course dear, you've been so good lately. We'll all go, my treat~!"

Vali smiles, "I missed you too!" he said excitedly. He always felt so relaxed with Pippin. He had not gotten to see his friend in way too long. Two weeks or so felt like forever to a toddler. "OH yes all the aminals!" he thought that one pronouned it animals but Pippin was very smart even smarter than himself so he would not argue. "I want to ride on top so we can see all of 'em!" He smiles and takes Pippin's hand as he hurried towards the gates. He really wanted to get in and enjoy this trip. Although they could not see any animals and as long as he had Pip with him the day was perfect!
Dooma nods, "If you have the bus tickets I will buy everyone lunch." she said as she payed for the main ticket and grabbed a map. "This is going to be a very interesting day I am sure."

Pippin clapped his hands together, enjoying all of Vali's ideas. Vali always had the best ideas, especially when it came to playing games! Right now they didn't need games though, they had plenty of plans for the day already. "Thank you mother!" he said, hugging her legs. "And thank you Miss Dooma ma'am." he said, always remembering his manners like his mother always told him to.
Turning back to his friend Pippin parted his lips to speak again, "Yeah! At the top! Why didn't I think uh that?" he said, thinking for a moment before snapping back to reality. He looked up at the adults, waiting as patiently as a young toddler could, rocking back and forth on his heels as he waited for them to go.
"That sounds wonderful~ Thank you!" Celi said brightly, walking over to a window and paying for their train tickets and turning back to the others, "Is everyone ready?"

Vali smiles and gives a small bow to Celi. "Thank you very much queen Celi ma'am." he smiled happily at it. He did not think it wrong to call her a queen because even though they were not really playing right now Pippin was still his princess. He was really wanting to go in and he was already look around threw the gates trying to see if he could see any animals from where he was.
He claps his hands, "I am ready ma'am." he smiles his shark like grin to Pippin, "Oh you would have thought of it when you saw the bus! I have seen pictures of them in book!" he smiles and was so ready to run in. This day would be prefect!
Dooma nods, "I think we are ready miss Celi. Arn't we boys and we will head right to the bus first then we can go back and see any animals you missed."

Celi was quite flattered by the young boy's words, giggling and doing at their little game, "It's my pleasure~" she said, turning to see the oncoming bus before looking and responding to Dooma, "I agree! Come on boys, before someone takes the good seats!" she said, grabbing Pippin's hand and heading towards the bus.
"Oh boi oh boi I've never beenta a zoo before! But I loooove animals!" Pippin said, happy for the new opportunity for an adventure, especially one with Vali. He took a large step onto the bus, gripping his mother's hand tightly and turning back every so often to make sure Vali and Dooma were making it okay. He could see his mother giving the tickets to the driver as they made their way up to the top.
"Wowie! Look at how tall this thing is! It's way taller than I thought it'd be!" his eyes were wide as saucers, amazed by the height of the tour bus.

Dooma nods and hurries along with the other woman and the two boys. She never ran unless it was an emergency so she merely walked quickly to get onto the bus and to climb the stairs to the top of the bus.
Vali nods, "Aminals are the best!" he said and not noticing any of the stares as he climbed up the stairs. He smiles his shark like grin as he sees a a row of four seats open near the middle of the bus. "Look we can take those one. Then we can see everything!" he smiles and felt himself laugh. He was always so happy and light when his best friend was near him. Pippin was the best! And his idea to come to the zoo was even better!

"Good idea come on les go mother! Come on Vali!" the young excited boy said, running to the middle seats, letting his mother crawl in while he crawled to a place where he would be able to see all of the animals and sit next to Vali. After all, yes he was here to see animals but he was also there very much to see Vali. The animals were just a bonus.
A loud voice spoke over the overcom, announcing that all arms and legs were to be kept inside the vehicle at all times, to not throw food to the animals, all the rules you would expect from this sort of thing. Finally, what seemed like forever to a young child, they announced that the tour would start.
"Oh look hunny, do you see the elephant over there?" Celi asked, pointing for her child.
"Woah! Lookit that thing! He's huuuuuge Vali!" the young brown hair pointed out to his friend. Not that the elephant needed pointing out, with it's large size.

Vali laughed and ran to the middle. Dooma sat on one of the edges of the middle seats to make sure that Vali did not get too excited and run to a side where he might trip over the edge of the rails. She smiled watching the two spawn. It was good to see both of them so happy.
Vali smiled at Pippin when the driver was going over the rules and he acted like her was sleeping to show that it was boring but as soon as the bus startted off he 'woke up.' "Oh wow it is big...I bet it could reach us!" he smiled and pointed to the other side of the bus, "Oh wow look at the giraffes! There is a baby!" he smiled and leaned over Dooma's lap to point. "Look how long their necks are!" he giggled and stuck out his neck as far as he could. "Oh oh i could be your giraffe we could paint spots on me!" he giggled and smiled at his friend. "Oh maybe next time we can play zoo keeper!"
Dooma laughed, "Well at the kid's part of the zoo you can get your faces painted and touch some of the animals. We can go there next if you two want."

"Probably! But I dun think he would. All elephants want is peanuts, doncha know?" he had read that in a book once. Well, his mother had read it to him, but still. He knew that was how it worked, and he had understood the pictures reaaaally well.
"Wowee Vali you look likea giraffe!" the boy giggled, gesturing at Vali's 'long' neck he had suddenly aquired. After a moment his childish attention span kicked in though and he was smiling at the baby, tugging on his mother's shirt and pointing, "You see 'im mother? You see 'im!? Isn't he cute?" Pippin said, grinning like no other. There was nothing like animals to make a child hyper and talkative. Not that there was anything wrong with it of course.
Celi laughed wholeheartedly, happy her son was having so much fun. "This was quite the idea it seems. And doesn't getting your face painted sound fun Pip?" his mother chimed, receiving a quick head nod in response. Obviously he was excited by the notion.
