Kyrie kept trying to sleep.
Since Mischa and Bassett and the scary corner-man had left, she had been closing her eyes, taking deep breaths that hurt her shoulder, doing everything she normally did to fall asleep. She could almost feel dreamland on the other side of some mental line. And it wasn't that the brightness of her room was stopping her, Kyrie slept in the daytime all the time, it was just. She was scared. She had had frightening nightmares last time she'd slept.
And also her shoulder hurt. She wanted Lord Seere. Needed Lord Seere. What if he'd gotten hurt? Mischa hadn't said anything, but Kyrie knew that he and Sam were still missing. Now that her thoughts were more cogent, too, she just.
It was really embarrassing to want to see a guy that you should hate, you know?
She slid further down into her bed, pulled the covers up to her chin. Her shoulder really hurt. It felt like someone had shot her, which was appropriate, as someone had. It burned, and Kyrie wondered if she was supposed to be taking painkillers soon; she remembered quite fondly staring out at the mirror, hallucinating her father was there. Which was wrong, because Rose didn't even seem to notice that she never visited anymore.
At least he was safe.
A pair of tears slipped down Kyrie's face, leaving tiny wet splotches on her pajama top. She didn't appear to have noticed, staring at the covered mirrors with a tiny frown on her face.

Kyrie had been hurt.
Seere felt her pain it wasn't overpowering but it was there he knew of it. He knew it wasn't going to kill her and others were with her. What he didn't know was of the one that shot her. The lord of knowledge prowled around outside the casino, he felt a pull of thought from Sam and ignored it she had the latest information on the blade she was seeking and for now his interest laid elsewhere. Power... pausing Seere stood in the spot where Sibyl had disappeared from, she had power.
A tug of thought from Kyrie and the prince shifted his gaze upward toward the Casino, Kyrie would have more answers. Standing a moment he concentrated on the power he felt someone had shot his angel, an enemy. Slowly a smile curled on his lips, it had been a long time since the pieces on the board were interesting.
In the blink of an eye he was in Kyrie's room standing over her shoulder the tears of his angel fell to her shirt. Reaching out the Prince laid his hand lightly on her head, "Little Angel," brushing Kyrie's hair lightly he dropped down so he could see her face.

A long time ago she'd ceased to be surprised by the demon prince's ability to suddenly pop into place, but this time she hadn't expected him to come back for her ever again. Kyrie jumped a little, then craned her neck to look at him; she smiled, a little bit, and put her hand on top of his.
"Hi, Lord Seere," she said, pushing herself up in the bed; her expression was that of perfect trust. "I'm glad you're okay... did you need me for something?" Healing never crossed her mind; the part of Kyrie that was Anael shuddered at the thought of demonic healing being responsible for anything. That part of her would rather suffer a thousand times before giving up hopes of becoming part of the heavenly host again.
Kyrie just smiled, blearily focusing on his face. "Sibyl says hello," she said; there was no indication from her if she was joking or not.
And then, randomly: "I like your hair." Perhaps she wasn't as coherent as she'd thought.

She had been given medication for the pain, frowning faintly Seere shifted his gaze over to the wound. He'd rather she had a clear head for his questions, then again too much pain and what answers could be even more obscured.
"I came to check on you..." as he spoke he moved his gaze from the wound back to Kyrie, "the one that shot you...this is Sibyl?"
Before he had been amused at the new player on the board but now watching Kyrie a twinge of irritation caused his wings to flicker and stretch. This new piece was shaping up to being most interesting indeed.

With a slow, solemn nod, she stared up at Seere. "Sibyl van Helsing," said Kyrie. "Aurelia Moriarty's daughter." Gosh, shouldn't Lord Seere know that? It seemed like nobody knew that, which made it her duty to know that for them, and tell them what she could.
For this purpose, she tried her best to be clear. Being all fuzzy would not help with the explanations she had to give, excuses she had to make. "She's a summoner, too," she explained. She was attempting to look at her bandaged shoulder, frowning; cracked out like this, she was kind of adorable. Like a puppy, or something. "Summoned her."
She sighed. "I'm sorry," said Kyrie. "But he knows her, and so does he, he saw her in his bath tub..."

Van Helsing ... Moriarty... the names had places within his considerable memory, places of interest. So the new player had an interesting pedigree the implication of a professional hunter in the area making trouble for them wasn't lost to Seere he had expected one to show up at some point or another; however he had learned through the years pedigree often was important in these cases. The name Van Helsing demanded notice, he wondered if this Sibyl realized how much she was gathering.
A hunter that was a summoner...Seere mused for a quick moment on the confusion, his attention drawn back to Kyrie, "she summoned someone? Can you tell me who?"
Frowning some Seere listened to the jumbled sentence giving Kyrie a moment, "who is he? And is her Sibyl or this one she summoned?" The Prince's eyes flickered over to the covered mirrors in thought.

"They're only nightmares," said Kyrie after a moment, worrying at her lip as she thought. "Just bad dreams..."
She stared at her knees, blew hair out of her eyes. "She is Gaia, she is Eve, she is Lilith's daughter. And I stand before you as her father--" Her eyes, for the longest time, were dilated so they appeared to be fully black. "--her flesh is the incorruptible medium, excused from sin--"
There was almost an audible snap as her pupils returned to normal size, face returned from a frightful tautness to a relaxed expression. "If you wait for her, she'll come. You and Asmodeus. There was another but Sofi erased her. Erased the summoner, too. Sofiel? You know Sofiel, don't you, my lord?"

Seere left his hand resting on Kyrie's shoulder as he listened but as her eyes changed he removed his hand frowning and listening. For a moment Seere considered possession by another but Kyrie didn't have the feel of one possessed. Anael... there were many reasons that Seere had been interested in this soul a means of information was one of them.
Frowning thoughtfully he listened to the words, more riddles then actual speaking. Gaia...Eve...Lilith's Daughter...incorruptible medium. The prince bit his lip as he considered the words.
Gaia regenerative powers of some sort... Eve an innocent or at least not an evil ... Lilith's daughter. Considering the first two the third was a touch confusing, if she was Lilith's daughter that meant demonic lineage; and then the last dropped incorruptible medium. Now that her eyes had changed from the dark orbs Seere reached out and brushed a stray hair from Kyrie's face - the last would suggest an angel. A creature of demonic lineage that would be welcomed within the heavenly courts, shifting his gaze to the covered mirrors again frowning in thought he answered Kyrie's question.
"Yes I know Sofiel...perhaps it would be of interest to speak with him," the words were enough to put him on edge whoever she was Seere didn't plan to wait and let her come upon him when she pleased.
"Angel why is it that they have covered your mirrors?" Tilting his head Seere turned his gaze toward Kyrie.

She rested her head against his side, though it was something of a lean and hurt her shoulder. Was it weird that she felt like she could go to sleep now? It was inconvenient, if nothing else. She didn't know if she approved of relaxing around Lord Seere so easily. Supposedly she was supposed to serve him, being in thrall to him and all, but--
Well, she'd never thought of anyone like that before. That was interesting. Was it the drugs?
--but sometimes she wondered, you know? "I asked them to... monsters come out of the mirrors, you know?" Kyrie opened her eyes and looked up towards Seere. "Monsters like her. She can see the mirrors; there are shadows in the mirror that don't show in light..."
It was Anael again, suddenly, this time more clearly; it was more than the strain in her face, now, it was tone. "It's easy to bind her, the summoner. Prevent the deaths, find the book, and she is undone."
Kyrie came back, faster this time, like she'd been expecting it.
"I can't," she said, voice trailing off.

Shifting his gaze back to Kyrie Seere nodded, it made sense there were several types of creatures that could use mirrors as passageways the mention of shadow struck him glancing out to the hall he frowned faintly the casino was brighter then usual as well. "She walks through the shadows, uses them." Seere rolled his shoulders with some annoyance the new game piece was still amusing but was proving to be trying as well; the game might be fun but he didn't like the stakes getting too high.
"The book?" Turning Seere dropped down again next to Kyrie once again careful not to touch her while Anael spoke, "What book needs to be found?" shadows and hunters were one thing, but books...they held great power, knowledge, his type of power.
Seeing the change snap back Seere reached up and gently brushed Kyrie's hair, "how are you feeling?" He was glad to see that Anael was proving useful but he didn't want to lose his Angel to her.

"I know this one," said Kyrie. Was she aware of how the painkillers allowed Anael to take advantage of her? "Te- te-" she broke off, for a moment, to press her good palm to her shoulder. "Tenebras," the girl gasped. Why was it hurting so much just to talk about those books? No one had ever said she couldn't, why-- "et Veritas."
There. She had done her duty as her lord's thrall. A tiny, secretive smile broke over her face, a womanly smile rather than a child's open smile. Her shoulder really, really hurt, but it didn't seem to matter right at that moment. "I'm okay," she said, settling back against her pillows. "Sleepytired. My shirt got ruined, but s'okay."
She was quiet for a while; with her eyes closed, she might have been asleep. Then she said, "The other person who keeps talking... is that the angel me, Lord Seere?" Her tone was wistful, thoughtful.

Frowning Seere nodded slightly, "very powerful books..." the Prince studied Kyrie thoughtfully as she fought with the names of the books, Darkness and Truth.
Seere's gaze drifted to her shirt, "I see that, I can have Razz get some things from your apartment...bring your bunnies here as well. They'll be missing you." Plus Cookie might offer a bit more protection if Sibyl showed back up even if it was just slowing her down by forcing her to destroy him.
"Yes it's the angel you that keeps talking. She seems to know some about those involved in what's going on..." Seere studied Kyrie's expression thoughtfully, "how does the voice feel to you?"

She shook her head. "I..." He mentioned the bunnies, and her expression brightened though it didn't really change. "I'm glad," she said, "I miss Ukagi-kun and Cookie and Ink..." One hand made a drifting motion, like she was touching one of the bunnies; petting it.
"I don't... like the angel me," she said, "the angel me thinks you're bad, but you're not bad, are you, Lord Seere? The angel me says you're corrupt and evil... but you've always protected me." Her smile was trusting as she opened her eyes to look at him. "Will Razz bring my bear, too?"
So what if she still slept with a teddy bear. She was seventeen, not twenty.

A slight smile came to Seere's face watching Kyrie, she was so innocent still even more innocent then perhaps Anael realized. The Prince chanced a moment to pet Kyrie's hair as if mimicking the motion she made remembering her bunnies. "They will be here with you soon enough..."
Anael didn't like him something that Seere was not surprised of as for bad...smiling faintly he watched Kyrie, "I have always protected you and I will you are important to me. As for the rest of what Anael has been saying about me, I really rather think of it as a difference of opinion."
"And yes she'll bring your bear...I'll have her get your slippers as well. Anything that is forgotten can be picked up later. Are you tired? I'll stay with you for a while if you want to rest...and make sure someone is here to watch over you."

Kyrie made a small assenting noise, reached up to touch Seere's hand. "Me and the angel-me have differences of opinion, too," she said; she was starting to slur her words, clearly tired again.
A long moment passed after Seere finished talking before she said, "You promise you won't leave?"
Pathetic, Anael sighed. Kyrie made a face. The sooner she got better, the sooner she would give that angel a piece of her mind.
