Ok, If you were younger and your mom got dovoriced because of abuse or some sh** that happen with your dad. And later you switch back in forth. You live with you mom (vise virsa) and you go over you dads for the weekends. You eat chicken basically everytime. You have good time and bad. You leave and go to a meeting place and go back over your mom's and start your week with her.
That's a summary of it. I'm not getting in to the littlest details. But you get the idead

[Kenai's right. 3nodding Sounds like the typical process a lot of kids of any race might go through if their parents divorce.
BUT...I do understand why you ask the question this way (maybe). I felt this way when I was younger and my parents split up. We lived in the projects, where most kids only lived with Mom or Grandma, and maybe Dad visited or picked them up for the weekend and maybe he didn't. I grew up having my father around...I thought we were different than the "other kids" I saw on the daily basis. But then he left and I started to wonder why we had to be "like everyone else;" that is, without a father who lives with us.
Even a couple of years ago when I was handling documents for a 3rd grade teacher I assisted, (still on the "bad" side of town, in a predominantly black area), when I looked at the information on the documents, I saw that at least 50% of the kids in the class lived in single-parent homes: 9 lived with only mom, 1 lived with only dad, 2 had known step-parents.
So, I know it may seem like this is the norm depending on where you live and what you see around you...but it's really not...or it "shouldn't be," at least...
Then again, they say 50% of all marriages in the US end in divorce... so maybe it's becoming more the norm than not.. sad ]

I agree with Passion; It's a growing trend among all races. It hasn't happened in my family, though (Mostly cause they have babies out of wedlock and don't actually get married). heart

But...your parents don't have to actually "divorce" for you to feel the weight of their dscision to no longer want to be together. sad To most children, wedding and divorce are big words that don't mean a whole lot. Your parents could say they are going "spelunking;" if this meant that Mom and Dad weren't going to be able to live together anymore, it would cause the same heartache to the child. ("A rose by any other name...")]

I understand what you mean. I guess it's the same thing if you're used to them being around all the time.
