It wasn't too hard to get into the apartment building for all the security that the building boasted of. A few bills here and there, a bit of a bluff and a name that actually had the reputation and the two were riding up an elevator within minutes. The floor they stepped out onto only had two apartments and the naggling itch confirmed their earlier research.

Sharing a glance with her silent partner, Nara knocked loudly on the door.

There was a large crash and a muffled call of "Just a minute!" heard before a small pause, where someone could be heard moving things about. Finally, the door was opened by a young man with long blonde curls.

"Oh. H-hello. May I help you?"

Nara toned down her grin. Interesting that the man didn't even question how they got there.

"Good afternoon sir. I'm Nara from the Gaian branch of the Royal Library of Alexandria. We have an appointment to examine a historic scroll at this residence." Nara smiled as she lied through her teeth to the man.

Some lies were easier than others though.

The blonde blinked, "You do? How odd. Andy didn't tell me anyone was coming to see about it. What do you need to examine it for?" he inquired, looking confused. It was obvious that he honestly had no idea what she was talking about, as opposed to being annoyed at a stranger wanting to see it. "You won't take it away will you? Andy bought it - it was legal. It was my birthday present."

Nara kept the grin and giggle from bursting out with years of practice. "Of course not," she said smoothly, "It's more for authentication purposes. There's some speculation that it originally resided in the lost Library of Alexandria and while we can't come to a definitive positive by just a cursory examination and incomplete history, if the scroll is a fake then we can certainly determine it."

She smiled at the man disarmingly. "It won't take long."

Her disarming smile was completely lost on Whyst as he stared a bit away blankly thinking. "Why would a library want an old love letter?" he asked confused, but showed them in anyway.

The apartment was a mess, all sorts of canvasses, empty food containers and art supplies lying around. But there, in a frame up on his wall, was the scroll his brother had gotten him. An old love letter, sealed with a kiss mark.

"Love letters provide an insight into everyday lives of people in a particular period," Nara replied seriously though it was becoming clear it didn't really matter if her statement had logic or not.

As they headed into the apartment Nara shoved her hands in her pockets, the buzzing itch growing stronger. Spotting the scroll on the wall the woman paused. "Would you please set it out, without the frame?" Nara asked, masking the strain in her voice.

The man blinked a bit but nodded. He took down the frame and tried a few times to undo it, failing a bit at first but eventually getting the casing removed so the scroll was laying out on the backing. "Don't hurt it." he said nervously, backing up and tripping over a paint canister, landing on his rear. Still, he looked seriously at Nara.

"Hardly likely," the woman replied dryly. If anything, she would be the one getting hurt. Gesturing at Iian, Nara began to circle around the scroll. Iian moved slight to the left, eyeing the distance between himself and the artist carefully.

With a small nod to Nara, he stepped forward just a bit. As soon as Iian stepped forward, Nara's hands burst into mist. The three of them formed an equilateral triangle around the scroll and the mist reached out to draw the lines between them. Each figure was soon encased in the glowing mist which thickened until it was impossible to see any further than a few inches.

A thud sounded somewhere in the center of the mist, and just as quickly as it appeared, the mist disappeared. Nara's hands reformed and she lurched backwards with a gasp. Bending over, the woman tried to catch her breath as Iian hurried over.

Sitting on the scroll was an adorable little girl with bright blue eyes.

Whyst stared in surprise. His brain had completely forgotten the scroll at all, rushing over to look at the little girl. He looked confused, reaching out to put his arms around her in a hug and picking up the little one, hugging her a bit.

The girl seemed confused but hugged back awkwardly. Well, at least they got along for now.

Nara nudged Iian, dropping a card on nearest table. Iian straightened up, Nara leaning heavily on his arm. Without a word the pair headed for the door, hoping to slip out quietly.

Whyst bounced the baby and smiled. He'd have to call Andy, so he had to carry her over to the phone, where he pushed one button - the speed dial - to try and see about his brother getting home early. It was Andy's personal cell phone for emergencies, and he had to try and get it to tell him about the baby.

Thankful at being sparred the interrogation, Nara and Iian quickly fled.
