The days were warming up more now that the last frost had blown in. The sky was crisp and clear the color of spring's first fresh start after the long winter's gray shades. She lay there snoozing in the sun, enjoying the bed of fresh sprouted grass she'd come across. Since the ground had already been dried of the morning dew, she had decided this would be a pleasant napping spot.
The sun played in the white of her mane and tail casting that sparkle that well kept hair often does in the sun. Her roses were a great contrast in all that white. She couldn't wait till the real roses bloomed when she could abandon the false roses and enjoy the real ones again.

Taking in a deep breath, a dark stallion could tell that spring was definitely on its way. His teal eyes took in the world before him, amazed how much greener things were getting as nature transitioned into spring. The stallion had even seen a few buds of flower emerging from the ground along his travels. It even seemed like the world was more.. livelier because spring was coming near.
The stallion continued on walking. His eyes continually scanning the area before him, looking for any interesting paths to deviate towards, or for any other soquili around. His eyes caught onto a mare not too far from him. From what he could tell, she was really pretty. The gorgeous long white hair, the lovely accenting roses. The redish body with a pale face. As he observed her, the stallion stilled and obviously was distracted, and it took him a while to come to his senses and become aware that he was staring. His reaction to that was his trademark blush staining his dark face.

Her ears gave a small twitch as she stretched out on her side some, legs sprawling rather lazily and unladylike like as she slept. It seemed for her that it had been too long of a winter and by golly she'd enjoy this nap. A bird however seemed to have other ideas. It was perched on a near by tree singing it's gleeful song of springs return. Opening an eye, the sky blue color of her pupil scanned the treeline for the annoying bird till she caught sight of the near by stallion and rolled into a more lady like position on her belly.
Casting a rather sheepish look, she smiled at him. "Hello. I didn't realize anyone else was around." She gave a quick grin. "I'm Shoshana, but you can call me Sho for short." Standing, she shook off her temporary moment of embarrassment and started walking a bit closer so she didn't need to yell to be heard.

Khajag felt slightly embarrassed to catch the lady's eye. His cheeks immediately reddened, and tore his gaze away for a moment. He was still in awe to see such an interesting mare. He partially wondered if all those roses were real. They had to be? But, were they even blooming at this time? He thought to himself, obviously getting distracted by his thoughts again.
The stallion shyly met the mare's gaze, as his ears perked up when she spoke up. "I hope I didn't interrupt your nap." He said rather softly, still embarrassed he was caught looking at her. "It's a pleasure. I'm Khajag." He nodded, and shyly smiled to her, hiding behind his side-swept bangs. "That's a lovely name. What does it mean?"

"It's meaning? Oh i think it's lilly or rose or something like that.. I can't quite recall really." She gave a small giggle such things often found themselves slipping from her mind. "As for my nap no worries, The singing bird over in the trees seems to have beat you to the punch." She grinned wide. "It's a pleasure meeting you though, Khajag. What does your name mean?" She gave a wide eyed look of curiosity.
Her ears perked as she looked at him giving a warm friendly smile. He seemed a bit nervous. She only hoped she wasn't some how making him uncomfortable with her questions she often asked.

Khajag smiled and nodded. "If it was either of the two, I can definitely see why your mother or father would name you so. It is very fitting." He said in a soft tone. The stallion visibly relaxed a bit more with the assurance. "O-oh. Okay. I'm glad I didn't disturb you. I'm certain that the birds did not want you to miss such a lovely day." He said, appreciating the warmth the sun bestowed down on them. It made traveling so much easier when it was sunny.
The stallion returned to listening to the mare before him, realizing he zoned out a bit. "Did you ask about my name?" He asked, slightly embarrassed he lost himself in thought again. "My mother named me. She told me its from some human language and it means 'blue-eyes'. I think she was a bit color blind, because they aren't exactly blue." He laughed a bit.

"I see... interesting but I'm sure she meant no mix-up.. perhaps they looked a bit blue when you were born?" She was glad to see that she wasn't exactly the only one out there in the world to get distracted or even forget what the topic at hand was. Breathing in a deep breath she let it out slowly. The air smelt sweet. " So, What brings out out to the meadow?" The glint of curiosity shone in her eyes some before being chased away with her own usual happy look.

Khajag tilted his head and thought about it for a moment. She was right. Maybe his eyes looked different when he was born, or at least, maybe his mother had seen them a bit oddly before she realized their true color. It didn't matter, he liked his name. It was close enough to being true. "Perhaps. I wouldn't know what my mother had seen. It's always possible my mother was just partial to that name specifically." He said with a nod.
He glanced around the meadow, before looking back to the mare. "It just happened to be a destination along my travels." He said with a light smile. "I travel the lands quite frequently. I am uncertain if I have seen everything, but I do know how to navigate around to certain places if I feel like heading there." He said, gazing out to the sky. "What about you...?" He said softly.

"Me?" She thought some. "Well it just so happened to have been here when I was passing by. So I stopped to lounge in the sun and nap for a bit. Seemed like a good idea at the time before the birds began to make their presences known. But at least it meant that no immediate danger was close by." She couldn't help but giggle some though as it registered in her mind that he'd said he was a traveler as she was. "Traveling? I do that quite often really... was what brought me here actually.. I come from very very far off.." She nodded some. strange how she knew it was quite far off when she couldn't even remember how exactly to get back to it if she'd wanted.

Khajag nodded his head to her question, obviously directing the question to her. The stallion smiled softly at her response, and nodded his head. "I see. It is a lovely day to take a nap." He blinked, wondering why the birds would come to be a nuisance in the middle of the afternoon when the birds would usually be up and about for the whole day. He didn't know, nor did he want to call it into question.
The stallion quirked a brow. "You are not from these lands?" He asked in a slightly curious tone. His teal eyes widened at the prospect. He suspected that she would be born of these lands, but what would he know? He didn't come too far off from these lands. He had come from just the other side of the mountains.

Shaking her head some she still smiled. Seemed to her that it was a bit of a shock to him that one might be from so far away. "Nope, not at all. I traveled from very far off indeed.. though I've been traveling for most of my life so I'm not quite so sure where exactly my starting point was." She gave a rather sheepish chuckle. "Though I can safely say it's very far off all the same.. So, I am guessing from the shock on your face that you were born not too far from here.. most likely at least within these lands if not very close to where we stand now?" Her tone was still ever pleasant and friendly as she spoke.

Khajag attentively listened to the pale mare. "You do not know of your exact origins?" He asked curiously. "Hmm. It is nice to see someone with a similar history." He said with a light smile on his face.
The stallion only could smile a bit bigger. "Y-you guess right." He said with a light laugh. "It is not very close to where we stand right now." He said with a light nod. "I come from the mountains far from the plains that hugs against the coast line."

"I see, the mountains seem like they'd be a nice place to live. Though I've never been there It just seems like it'd be a pleasant place." Smiling she looked out over the land for a moment. "I have to say though if the mountains are as lovely as the other places here It'd be no surprise to me.

Khajag pondered for a moment, recalling how the mountains were, how different it was in terms of his travels across the lands, and if it was really a nice place to live. "I suppose it was alright. If you are able to travel uphill with ease, then danger will have a harder time following after you. The terrain can be rough, but I suppose living there for most of my childhood can easily train one how to climb the rocky terrain efficiently with trial and error. Although, I have seen other animals accidentally miss a step, and it was really a tough sight to see." He frowned, shaking off the memories. "It is overall pleasant, and beautiful. I would have to say winter was my favorite on the mountains, even though it was cold and slippery. I did not travel too much around the steep areas when it was cold and icy." He said.

"I can see how it would be wise not to travel around the more steep passes when it's cold and slippery. I guess The mountian life would be dangerous... But the views.. I'll bet they were just lovely!" She thought back on her own travels before coming to this land. The views from the top of a foot hill was often rather pleasant and nice. "The winter was nice... but.. I've been looking forward to spring actually..." She smiled and gave a look around.
