It had been almost three full days of nonstop snowfall. Few people left their house aside from work or if they absolutely had to, except for Akitla. As the snow had fallen she was outside almost every minute of daylight. Acklin really didn't understand it at all but she seemed to do just fine outside.

Today Acklin had been working on studying a strain of influenza and Akitla didn't feel much like waiting for her guardian to finish before she could go out so she took it upon herself to make her way down to a park a couple blocks away. The small girl wasn't at all perturbed by the fact she had no one with her, in fact she seemed to enjoy the fact that she didn't have that cumbersome scientist with her.

She knew she'd find just what she was looking for at the park, and when she got there indeed she did. Against the fence there were enormous drifts of snow, piles easily three times her own height. The girl grinned very lightly at the discovery and she quickly made her way over to the drifts and started to dig into the drift.

Mommy was off doing something, something she couldn't let Madison help her with. This was fine, though Crescentia was clearly the far more superior female she still didn't feel comfortable around her. This set up was nice, she could play in the snow some more and Mommy could continue to make money. Gypsies were weird. Or maybe it was just Crescentia. Either way this meant she could spent her time doing better things like building snowmen.

And climbing trees in a light sundress.

Madison had managed to get up quite a few branches and was now hanging awkwardly from a pair of them when she spotted movement below her. Hm? What was that? ...Erf...long hair. Another girl? The panda girl scowled a bit at the sight below her and sat up on the thicker of the two branches, frowning deeply. Maybe if she just...stayed here...she wouldn't get noticed! Yeah! That's right! Madison could do it! She kicked her legs a bit and started her possibly long wait for the girl to go away, bouncing as she did. Unfortunately this shook the branch enough that clumps of snow began to fall off. Agh! She gasped, green eyes widening as she watched the snow seemingly fall in slow motion from the branch to the snowy ground below. Right next to the girl digging in the snow drift. Nooooooooo!

Akitla worked quickly. She seemed well versed in snow digging and knew just how deep to go and how far above the ground to keep the initial entrance. She was planning this out in her mind when clumps of snow fell right next to her. The girl glanced over to the snow, and then up to the tree. She spotted the peculiar looking child but didn't show any form of excitement or disappointment, just a neutral acknowledgment of her existence.
Turning her head back to her work in the snow she paid the other child no mind. What she was doing up in the tree was no business of her own, nor did she really care.

Blast! She was spotted! Madison scrunched her face up in displeasure as the girl below her looked up at her tree, kicking her legs a little and just staring down at her with a pout. The girl didn't do anything though and just went on with her business, which was all well and dandy because Madison wanted nothing to do with her. But she also wanted to get away from her and out of this tree.

Well she could just jump down! And possibly even ruin whatever that girl was doing while she fled to someplace less girl-populated. Madison hummed quietly to herself as she situated herself on the branch to jump without landing on the girl. She may dislike her for being what she was but Madison didn't want to hurt her. Madison jumped down from the branch and landed beside the snow drift with a little 'umph!', but unfortunately her plan to not fall on the girl failed as her foot slipped on the snow. "GAH!" She cried as she flailed her arms, attempting to stay balanced and failing. Miserably. Madison fell backward with the grace of an elephant in a tutu wearing roller skates on a greased up pan of ice onto the mound of snow the girl was digging into. Oof...so much for just fleeing to safety.

Akitla hadn't given the girl a second thought when she first saw her and after she continued digging in the snow she had put her out of her mind completely. She wasn't interested in socializing with her, especially after that disgruntled look she got from her. Unfortunately she didn't have much of a choice when she heard the loud thud on the side of her snow drift that mad part of the east wall cave in.
Cautiously the Uentshukumishiteu girl crawled out of the hole in the snow to see what on earth that strange little girl had done. Walking around to the side of the drift she saw her, partially stuck in the drift from falling. Akitla looked at her for a couple moments, a blank expression. She crouched down in front of her and held out her hand, offering to help her up, but didn't bother saying a word.

Oops. She hadn't meant to ruin part of her fort! Not out of common courtesy towards the other girl, but merely because that meant this girl would be in her park that much longer fixing it. Yes, Madison considered this her park. She was here first, darnit! Thus it was her territory. The Panda was brushing snow out of her hair, her ears wiggling a bit when she heard the shuffling of the strange girl behind her. Oh, great. Now she had to deal with her. To think Madison could have easily avoided this and just have gone to play in another part of the park if she had just kept her balance a bit better. She sighed and started to scramble to her feet, trying to get up and leave before the other girl could get to her. She failed miserably, instead of getting up she managed to slide and just push herself further back into the drift. Gah! Stop that! She'd never had a problem with snow before, why was it betraying her?!

A hand appeared in the corner of her eye and Madison glanced at it, her gaze flickering up at its owner before she narrowed her eyes and shrugged off the hand. She could do this! She didn't need help from some crummy girl! Madison rolled over onto her hands and knees and pushed herself up, but unfortunately her foot caught on the bottom of her dress and sent her face first into the other side of the drift with a loud cry of surprise.

It just was not Madison's day.

Akitla continued to watch the girl. Her eyes were sharp but hard to read. She didn't make any move to touch the girl but was confused as to why she seemed to struggle so much in the snow. She stayed there, slightly crouched while she kept her hand offered outward just to keep the offer alive in case the other child couldn't bring herself to her feet on her own.
Her hair splayed over her face though it didn't hinder her vision much, the strands were all crystalline and clear, they shimmered much like a frozen lake would under the winter sun.
Akitla was silently disappointed that she would have to reconstruct one of the walls inside her Quinzhee when the girl finally got herself out of it, however she assumed it wasn't a malicious act and so she didn't show any signs of disapproval, just a constant gaze that only looked like the gaze of a daydreamer.

Madison wasn't normally this clumsy, she wasn't exactly sure what the problem was. Perhaps it was her hurry to get away from this girl that was tripping her up? She lifted her head out of the snow and shook it a bit, snow flying everywhere as she stood a bit more slowly and carefully than before. This time she held the skirt of her dress up higher so she wouldn't step on it, and she made sure she her footing was steady before she stood up straight. Or she would have if she hadn't hit something. The heck?! This thing had a roof?! Madison managed to stand, but the snow collapsed around her and settled. Oh, dear. She looked around at where she was, finding that she was standing in the middle of the little hut...fort...thing that the other girl had been making. She glanced at the other girl to find her hand was still extended, frowning deeply and looking at the snow again. She'd totally destroyed whatever this other girl had been making. What was she making? An igloo?

"...Oops..." She said it with all the sincerity of a girl who didn't actually feel bad for what she had done, even if it was an honest accident. Madison truly hadn't meant to destroy this thing! She just wanted to go play somewhere else without this girl! "You should really be careful." Madison huffed, pushing snow out of the way of her legs as she shuffled out of the snow drift. "I coulda gotten hurt! And it woulda been all your fault 'cause of your house thingie." She pouted, brushing snow out of her hair. Sure the house was more of a casualty to her own slipping, but details were unimportant!
