Beauty. A word that was defined by the humans as the qualities that brought pleasure to the senses, or an outstanding example of one's kind. To be beautiful was to be pleasing, outstanding, and wonderful. What better color to portray such a definition than pure white?
Ritalin, the pure white stallion of the plains, was galloping in the direction of the cleansing pool, his own personal pool of water that had restorative properties and never got dirty. It was an oasis in the desert of filth, a cool drink of water on a mouth parched by disease. Ritalin found pleasure in this place, and made sure that only the beautiful could know of it.
Reaching his destination, he slowed into a steady trot up to the water. No birds, no winged horses, and no filth was around. He sipped from the water, and felt it's cleansing properties flow through his body. Sweat beads evaporated, and dirt vanished from his hooves. Once again, he was completely beautiful.

[[You might want to put our Soqs' names in the title, so they can get stat credit. <3]]

Devicius sighed as the wind sifted through his preened feathers, sending an almost sensual shiver down his spine as he flew through the air. The day was cool and slightly cloudy--the perfect day for a flight, since the clouds would hide the sun, and the absence of that annoying fiery orb would also mean the absence of the possibility of sweat. Oh, how he hated sweat! The way it matted his hair and made his mane all oily, the way is dampened his feathers and reduced their voluminous appearance! He loathed it, and for that reason, almost never went outside of the woods on sunny days. Though there were still equal reasons to fear the uncleanliness of the woods, they were still easier to protect his appearance in than the open air.
He hadn't flown long before his throat began to ache with thirst. There had to be a stream around here somewhere, once without the muddy banks and rushing water? For he would also not go near those things. Too many dangers did they have...
"Ah-ha!" his velvety, slightly accented voice exclaimed as he spotted a clean, clear spring on the ground. It looked to be void of any form-threatening dangers, and so would fulfill his desires. Although... he frowned as he saw another stallion at the water's edge, taking his fill of the water. Quite a beauty he was... but Devicius was not in the mood to seduce. He'd rather have a nice, quiet afternoon. But he was so thirsty!
"I suppose I'll have to make due with this inconvenience," he sighed, and slowly dropped to the ground, coming to rest at the water's edge, opposite of the other horse.

Ritalin froze once he heard the sound of wings beating the air. Were one of those disgusting Winds here to bother him yet again? Ritalin would tear their wings off if so; Cuauhcoatl’s threat of forcing a mask made of wings on Ritalin was a bluff. Ritalin hated the Wing Soquili more than any other species. He hated them for their wings that marred them. He had seen a few that could be so beautiful if they hadn’t been born with the curse of wings. Those wings carried so much filth in them, and were so prone to ugliness. The feathers they dropped littered the ground, making the land ugly to spite the beautiful ground-bound horses. The Kalona were little better, they had no feathers to drop; but their wings were still ugly.
Ritlain kept his head lowered, staring into the spring that was being disrupted by ripples caused by the beaten air. He made out not only two wings on the horse, but four! This was no Wind, but an Angeni. Ritalin held his ground, not contempt to running away from the powerful being. He had met one before, and he was not afraid. Those wings were still ugly though, no matter how holy the beings were. The Angeni landed across from him. Ritalin noticed the beauty of his mane and coat, as well as the little trinkets, hat, and bow that he wore. There were feathers in his mane though; how sickening.
“I’m sorry sir, but these springs are only for the beautiful.”

As soon as Devicius had landed, the other spoke to him, nonetheless in a seemingly disgusted voice. Devicius' ears flicked back, his proud anger sparked within him. How dare this ground Soquili call him ugly? Well, not literally, but the meaning of the words was clear enough to one of Devicius' bearing.
"Excuse me, boy? Have you not eyes? The very form of beauty stands before you even now, where you are as blind as a tree to its radiance," Devicius growled, his usually smooth voice now low and threatening. His wings stretched out from his sides, displaying the vibrant colors of the magnificent feathers. He stared at the stranger without fail, his eyes never wavering; was the fool even going to look at him? What ignorance!
He stamped his hoof in dominance, demanding the attention of the other stallion.

The Angeni had put himself into a threatening stance. That was all fine and dandy with Ritalin, this ugly little piece of trash could talk and pose all he wanted. Ritalin held his ground, and continued to drink from the spring, his spring. He would do nothing for now, but if this ugly Angeni were to even drop a feather in his spring...
"Yet trees are beautiful, much more pleasing to the eye then you are. Your whole race is ugly, do you know that? You're the ugliest of them probably. I've met Kalona who are more attractive than you." Ritalin snorted, looking at the stallions wings. How sick they were. He smirked, lowering his head to drink again. "Close your wings please, their stench is making my nostrils feel ugly."

Devicius let out an angered snicker, fluttering his wings all the more.
"A Kalona more attractive? I say, that is an insult to yourself! For one who is pure would never see attractiveness in a Kalona, no matter how they look! You are only stupid, and fall prey to the vile slyness of those demon creatures!" He stamped forward, his tight curls bouncing along his neck, threatening to throw his many small trinkets from his mane.
"And your nose most likely feels ugly because it is--not because of the 'stench' of my wings. Look at you--you're absolutely plain, with no variety, no pattern, no individuality! How can you call that perfection? You're blind to your own faults!"

Ritalin liked where this was going. He had full control of this Angeni, all of the other's attention was devoted to him. Ritalin had egged the orange-locked holy horse into a rage by simply saying the word 'Kalona.' It was very unattractive, the way this stallion was reacting due to his prejudice against the demonic breed. Ritalin himself hated Kalona as well, but for different reasons. They too were ugly.
Then the fool tugged at a cord Ritalin didn't like - the idiotic stallion thought to insult him because of his purity. "You are as daft as you are ugly." Ritalin snorted, stamping an aggravated hoof. "I am pure, untainted and unblotched by filth and ugliness. Patterns and markings and variety are marks of an impure heart. White is perfection, do you not know? Are angels not garbed in white robes?"
