For further clarification, these are the types of announcement threads allowed in the 'Main Forum' for two weeks before being moved off to the corresponding subforum:
Birth Announcements
You (or your loved one) had a baby! Hooray!
Pregnancy Announcements
You (or your loved one) has become preggers!
Childhood Milestones
Your little one(s) has done something quite exceptional! Graduate kindergarten, successfully completed potty training, spoke their first word, etc.
Weddings
You (or your loved one) is getting married!
Engagements
You (or your loved one) is engaged to be married!
These are the types of announcements we'd like to see. And, after the 2 week period, they will be moved off to the appropriate subforum.
Now, after they have been moved, please do NOT continue making new announcement threads on the same topic.
For example:You made a wedding announcement topic in the 'Main Forum' stating you're to be married on such-and-such a date. Goody! Well, two weeks has now passed, so your thread is moved to the 'Events' subforum. HOWEVER, the next day you fininalize your all important cake choice! Do NOT make a new thread fo rthe cake choice (or dress choice, or photos, or what have you). Update your exsisting thread that is now in the 'Events' subforum! New announcement threads that are covering a pre-exsisting topic will be locked on sight and moved to the 'Recycle Bin'.
Now, please do not abuse this priviledge! If things begin to get out of hand or too many people start throwing fits about threads being moved and so forth, then I will revert back to prior rules which do not allow such announcements in the 'Main Forum' at all. So let's all enjoy sharing in each other's lives and have fun!
Also, just because announcements are allowed to be made in the 'Main Forum' doesn't mean you HAVE to make them in th e'Main Forum'. You can always certainly opt to make your thread directly in the appropriate subforum. In doing so, then you make it a bit easier on the GPG Staff. ^_^
