Ark stepped through the doors of the tavern. It appeared to have a hotel or at least a second floor of rooms attached. The doors were flung wide, possibly to invite new people, possibly to let in the bright sunlight. There were a few cobwebs in corners, but not enough for Ark to think that the place was completely abandoned, it only looked as if the owner didn't clean. There were couches in one corner, booths against the opposite walls, what appeared to be a dance floor, tables and chairs, and a bar with stools at the far wall. Behind the bar was a staircase she assumed led the rest of the building and the housing section.
Stepping slowly into the main part of the room, Ark side-stepped the scattered tables and made her way to the bar where she could vaguely make out a sign sitting on the bar counter. Reaching it, she picked it up and read: "Congratulations! You're the new owner for a day!" Ark dropped the sign as if it was a red-hot poker, "No. No I'm not." She turned and tried to rush back out the doors. Although they remained open, some invisible force kept her inside.
A voice boomed out, "You must stay here one full day and act as owner. You may interpret ownership as you wish and after the twenty-four hours are over, you may leave."

Kynum set foot into the ghost town. It looked like a town from the old west, with one main road that spanned the entirety of it and looked out into the desert afterward. He liked to come to places like this sometimes. It gave him the solitude to help him meditate on himself. So he walked down the main avenue.
As he walked through the town, he saw a building with giant letters spelling 'SALOON' on it. He threw a quick glance inside and turned his head back on the road. He did a double take, as inside the doorway, there was a girl that was banging on an invisible wall or something.

Ark pounded on the non-existent doors. She shouted, hoping that the person outside could hear her, "Help! I can't get out! Can you help pull me out?" In case he couldn't hear her through this odd wall, she used her hands to make gestures that she was sure he would understand. She didn't want him to come into the bar in case he became trapped too, but she did need help.

How interesting...Kynum loved Mimes! This lady was actually banging on the air as if it resisted her. She even made convincing hand gestures to suggest trouble, what a riot! He came closer to the 'barrier' and smiled at the girl waving frantically at him. He stopped just before entering the place.

Ark pushed as hard as she could against the doors until her fingers bent back. It seemed the man couldn't hear her and he was smiling at her gestures. What the hell did he think was going on? Was he mocking her problem? She started to get angry and shout at him, "You think this is funny?! I'm freaking stuck!"
From nowhere, a giant hand grabbed Ark around the stomach and pulled her back into the bar. A rag was shoved into her hand and she was pushed behind the counter. When she looked down at herself, there was nothing there, even though she could still feel fingers clenching her. After a moment of refusing to move, she was forced to begin cleaning a mug with the rag.
All this was visible from where the man was standing.

WHOA! The girl inside the saloon flew further inside at a frightening pace, making Kynum take a step back. Man, this mime is really good! He decided to follow the girl so he could see better, and he walked into the place.

"Oh, thank geeeee," Ark thought, praising her personal "god." She knew she'd be able to speak to the man now. She tried to stop polishing the glass. Remembering the sign and that she was now the owner for however many more days, she told the impulse that she was going to take care of a customer, "Hello there, how can you help - I mean, how can I help you?" She forced a grin onto her face, but her eyes begged for help.

"Heeeeey....I thought mime's couldn't talk!" Kynum looked at the girl quizzically. He looked at her face and something seemed ...just wrong with it. The smile was all wrong somehow, like it wasn't what she felt on the inside. Was it her eyes?

{I'm going to assume that was meant as dialogue, not as a thought.}
With a throat clearing cough, Ark's smile turned both forced and confused, "A mime? You thought I was a mime? No, I'm not a mime." She glanced at the sign that was still sitting on the bar counter. There was nothing written on this side of the bar, but she very well remembered what it said, "I'm the owner of this bar," she added more quietly, "for a day."
"Anyway, anything I can get for you?" she wondered what there even was to serve. Maybe the bar would simply have whatever he asked for. Hopefully he would ask for something so that she wouldn't have to stay here alone. As it was now, she wondered if she could tell him her problem and keep him from leaving.

{speech in "Bold and quotations", thoughts in italics}
Failing to read the sign, Kynum responded to what the girl said. Owner...for a day? What could you possibly do in a day as an owner?

{Cool, that was definitely my assumption. I'm glad I didn't make an "a**" of myself.}
Ark held the smile on her face with a force of will developed through years of retail service, "I've been wondering the same thing myself. But something about this place just.. drew me in. But, uh, seriously, is there anything you want? Please, get something. It's on the house..."
A sudden, nasty thought occurred to her. Maybe she could transfer ownership to this poor fellow if she kept him here long enough.
Her own thoughts shocked her. She was mortified that she'd even thought such things. The sign clearly said that she was only going to be the owner for a day, so she might as well just wait it out. It would be much easier to make excuses to her waiting friends than to deal with her guilty conscience if she tricked him into staying here in her place. That meant her new goal was to get him out of here before the twenty-four hours were over.

{*facepalm* XD} "Ohhhh, I dunno if you have this in here...do you have........PURE WATER?!" Kynum leaned toward the girl as he said this. He was sure she wouldn't have water in here...not really sure why, though. Perhaps his mind was being spiteful.

Ark panicked for a moment. She turned and started opening all the cabinets to look for glasses. After the third cabinet, she found some standard glasses on a shelf above some mugs. At first, she looked at the sink. But he's said pure and she thought that might mean filtered. So she turned to the refrigerator and looking around inside it. Sure enough, the box was empty except for a jug of filtered water.
She took it out and poured it into the glass. Then, she plunked it on the counter in front of him with another falsely bright smile, "Here you go. One pure water. Anything else?"

O_o...Kynum was only half challenging the girl to find some pure water, and half joking. But, when she plopped a glass of the clearest looking water man had ever seen in front of him, he froze with a look on his face. He suddenly got serious about his challenge.
"Ok, how 'bout this. Martini, neat, with a blood-orange twist, and the embryo of an ice dragon shaken inside." There was no way anyone could ever have this drink. If you could really call it a drink.

"You know.. neat and ice dragon embryo don't really mix. Well, whatever. I'll work it out. If I can," she turned to the freezer, assuming that's where an ice dragon's embryo would be kept. Sure enough, the freezer was empty except for the little gross thing. She pulled gloves out of random drawer and plopped it into a mixer.
When she was done with that, she fixed up the rest of it. She opened another random drawer and pulled out a strainer. The drink went into the martini glass without the ice dragon. She then salted the edge and slid it across the counter, "Here you go, I'm as surprised as you are."
Ark looked at the drink. There was something.. off about it, "Crap. I completely forgot the blood-orange twist. I am so sorry. That one's on the house."
