It was just getting dark outside when a figure clad in dark robes came to the door that lead to the home of the Gargoyle child, Faris and her Guardian Luis. After rummaging around in it's sleeves for a moment, it pulled out a cube; a tiny cube, no bigger than a dice. The figure placed the Cube just outside of the door; when the figure stepped away, the cube twisted and turned until it became a box. A red box with a pink ribbon.
The gift given, the robed figure rang the door bell, knocked on the door, or made enough noise to convince the inhabitants to investigate. Knowing that it's gift would somehow be found, it disappeared into thin air, leaving the gift behind.
(( Who finds the item? What do they do with it? Do they open it? Leave it there? Kick it away? RESPOND. ))

Faris had just come outside from playing about outside when just as she got her coat off when there was a knock on the door which caused the small gargoyle to utter a small 'geep!' and pounce away from the door as if it was about to attack her somehow. Wide green eyes stared at the offending plank of wood. Normally she was not allowed to answer the door herself but she did just come in and somehow the rational thought became that it was perfectly alright to open the door for a would be stranger because she might have dropped something and they were being a good person and bringing it to her before she missed something.
When the stone-skinned child opened the door she found the doorway empty until she gazed down at the red box with pink ribbon around it. Was it for her?! It had to be. She leaned and picked it up and shook it once, shook it twice, and then shook it a third time just for good measure to see if she could hear anything rattling around inside.
A sudden voice came behind her, "What'd ya got there, Sweetheart?"
Another 'geep' and the box fell to the ground and her hands were empty. Faris whipped around to stare at her guardian with wide innocent eyes and answered, honestly, "Nothing."
She certainly didn't have the box anymore; the box currently was on the ground, so it wasn't a lie!

When shaken, the box did nothing. Nothing at all. It seemed empty, in fact! When dropped the box fell open and a little grey creature tumbled out, sprawling out on the floor and well hidden by Faris. It laid there for a moment or two until it's one eye looked to the side, spotting an item that looked susiciously edible. Without really caring what was going on at the moment, it flew over to the item, opened it's huge toothy mouth...and bit down on the umbrella near the door, gnawing on it all slobbery like.
Apparently, this one forgot it's duties.

Unconvinced Luis moved to peek behind Faris to see the box. Luis raised an eyebrow, "What's that?"
"I'unno, a box?" Faris offered helpfully, not realizing the box had fallen open in its descent downward.
"...Yes. I see that much but who brought it?" Luis asked as she raised an eyebrow when she noted the box was open but she did not see what had escaped just yet. She patiently waited for Faris' response while her eyes gazed about for whatever had fallen out.
"...I'unno it was there outsides," Faris said honestly as she gazed up at her mother and then turned to see the box had opened, "...uh oh?"
"..." the red haired satyr let out a small disapproving sound at Faris' words and finally movement caught her eye near the umbrella she put by the door just in case.
What...was that?
What was it doing to her umbrella!?
"Eeugh! What are ye doin'?! Stop'at!" Luis chided as she moved forward to reclaim the slobbered umbrella.
Faris blinked and stepped out of her mother's wake, "Don't hurts it!"

The creature had been lazily and contentedly chewing on the umbrella, it's one eye closed and gleefully unaware of the conversation between Guardian and child. When chided, it's eye opened wide and it stopped chewing, looking as surprised and innocent as it could. Chewing? It was doing no such thing! The umbrella did it.
It spat out the umbrella when it was taken. "Haaaaaaaai." It said innocently, it's mouth disappearing. "Nothurtnothurtwheeeee!" It cheered, twirling quickly on the spot before shooting up and around the room, right through Faris and stopping with it's huge eye right up against the bridge of the woman's nose.
"Guardianfoundyouhiyay!" It chittered, floating back and waving it's hypno disk slowly in front of the woman, back and forth, back and forth. "Notintroubleforeatingplasticthing." It told her in a flat and hypnotic voice. "YouwannatakestonegirlandgotoBalcombeCuriousities." It instructed, waving the disk a few times more before peering over it, to see if it had worked.

Faris uttered a small giggle when the creature flew right through her. This was a fun game she liked this! This was the best thing ever, hey wait what was it doing to mama?
Luis leaned back a bit with more shock than anything else and even dropped the slobbered upon umbrella. The satyr hadn't exactly been expecting something to get right up in her face and now it was. Her gaze caught by the object and suddenly she felt her mind go momentarily blank before she realized that, why yes, that would be a marvelous idea. Maybe Switch was there, she had been meaning to go back there anyways and well she couldn't leave Faris all by herself. This was a little too easy, perhaps.
"Aye, alright..."
The gargoyle blinked a bit at this not sure how to feel but mama wasn't hurt at least she dug in her pocket for a moment and produced an animal cracker she usually stored away for later snacking. It was a little stale but still edible, "Critter hungry?" Silly thing was trying to eat their umbrella after all.
"Faris get your coat on, my dear we are going on a trip." Luis said somewhat distantly as she moved about the entry way to get ready to go.
"Okay! One minnit~," Faris responded and waited for the critter to take the animal cracker.

The creature did a dance of victory when the woman submitted to it. Well, dance was a loose term. It was more like...an extreme seizure attack that involved spinning and flipping. It stopped instantly when it heard the word 'hungry'. Hungry? Why yes, it was hungry. It was ALWAYS hungry! Vibrating a happy shriek, it dove on Faris' hand, it's huge mouth appearing and chomping on the cookie without hurting the child.
"GoodgirlGoodgirl!" It chittered excitedly, splatting itself to hug the girl's face. "Stonegirlgoodgirlwegonowyes?" It said, not letting the hug go.

Faris watched the creatures dance and then blinked as the critter then swooped in for the cracker. Suddenly it was hugged about her head and chittering at her and she gave a small giggle in response her tail twitching side to side, "Yes we goes now!" Faris assured. She could kind of see through it! It was such a funny and strange thing she wondered, briefly, if it would be around still. Maybe she could play games with it! Maybe. Maybe not. Either way she stumbled about semi-obscured vision and all and got her coat and bumped into her guardian's leg and took the satyr's hand when she offered it down.
Luis was more or less herself other than the nagging urge to go to the shop now, "Let's go then," she tugged her mildly blinded child out of the door, closed it behind them and then they were off to the shop, just like the creature suggested they should do.
