The goddess wandered through the mortal realm without real purpose or heading. She'd been meandering through this plane for a few days now. Even though she had only run into a few creatures here, it was already much more entertaining than being in the god's haven. Where it would be monotonous there, here there were trees and rocks, herds and predators placed at seemingly random intervals. Just the scenery was more entertaining, which would probably be why the few memories she had from previous lives all took place on the mortal plane.

The goddess' tail twitched as she meandered, and her wings were tucked in neatly at her sides. Her sapphire eyes scanned for anyone or anything that could be interesting to meet...

Valetudo'Sero was restless. She was use to roaming the lands when ever she felt like it but this time she felt tethered to one spot by the cubs growing steadily in her belly. She had not meant for her spark of childish freedom to result in cubs but she would raise them unlike so many of her cousins do and to her that meant raising them with their father a leopard named Tumo'dembe. He was a strange leopard and seemed to be a bit dim but he made her laugh and for right now that was good enough for her.

Val did her best to keep busy. Gathering safe herbs that grew around her current home, preparing those same herbs, and making mixes and brews with those herbs and others that she had collected. She dared not use anything that would be seriously dangerous but as she well knew even the most helpful plant in little quantities could kill if given larger ones, so she found herself becoming increasingly careful of what she did or even holding off on doing something just because of the danger involved.

On this fair day, Val with her wings visible for once, was doing nothing more dangerous then picking a few fragrance but mostly harmless herbs for later use.

Din's eyes caught a green form... But something was different about this individual. She had... Well, judging by her shoulders, she was a goddess.

Din had been running into a lot of other gods lately, all in one streak. She supposed it was good, gods were more valuable to her than were mortals. She flicked an ear, trying to decide whether or not to go be social... She decided she'd better. After all, Din had made the conclusion that her last life had been so boring and dull, and that's why she couldn't remember it. And she had determined to make this one more exciting. After all, who knew what kind of excitement this one might offer?

Din padded up to the stranger. The leaves and coloration of her suggested her domain was plant-related... And she'd have been surprised if she was wrong. But what stood out more was... This goddess had a somewhat swollen belly. Din kept her wings visible as she approached so the stranger would know the connection...

"Hey there," she said, somewhat flatly, but with a hint of friendliness in there.

Val heard the stranger for a bit before she had said anything but didn't bother to look up from where she was pulling apart a small tuff of green plant, a strong smell permeated the air around her but it didn't cover the fact that the creature approaching was not one she had met so she did not feel the need to hid her wings as she would have if it was De who was coming.

When the other finally spoke Val looked up, her harvesting done for a moment. Who stood before her startled the pregnant lioness. It had been a while since Val had run in to one of her own and she really didn't expect to run into one now, the black wings marked the other lioness as a goddess even if Val could not figure out what her domain was. Prepared to meet a new mortal she was a bit taken aback by the sight of the goddess so stumbled a bit on her greeting, "Oh, Hello."

"I'm just meandering around, trying to remember or meet other gods." Din explained. It made sense, it was always good to know what the god of each domain looked like. "And I don't remember you, so I figured I should find out," it was a lie- she really wanted to know who the goddess was pregnant with, mortals or gods. No apparent reason, curiosity more than anything else. For some reason, she kinda hoped they were mortal ones, she thought that'd be much more interesting than any other option.

She supposed introductions were in order, now. "I'm Din-tei, Gravity," the goddess said with no other formalities, still musing which sort of likely-plant-oriented domain this one would have.

"Oh well I am Val, Valetudo'Sero, goddess of herb lore. It is nice to meet you Din-tei." Val didn't think she could have ever figured out what Din was the goddess for without her saying, she knew that just by looking at herself you knew it was something to do with plants but Din's markings and wings didn't give her away like Val's did.

She was a little at a lost as to what to say, this goddess was quite straight forward in her speech. Val decided that since Din said why she was out here on in the mortal realms it would only be polite if she said why as well. "I'm out here gathering herbs and experimenting with mixes myself. I can't say as I have met another god out here in the mortal realms other then you, are you having any luck?" Val was quite curious as to if Din had met others because that meant that Val herself could meet others as well, for good or ill. She knew that most of her brethren would not bother her but there were some, as there always are, and now that she was expecting cubs she had become quite consists of the grasslands, and its dangers, around her.

"Good to meet you, Val." Herb lore... That was a unique one. And one she was certain she hadn't met yet. "And I've been running into nothing but gods since I descended down here. Since I woke up, actually... Really weird. I've seen mortals at a distance, but that doesn't count," she said, furrowing her brow lightly at that last bit. She pondered ignoring all future gods for a while until she'd run into some mortals...

Why limit yourself? That wasn't freedom. No, she wouldn't avoid or be attracted to any one more than another.

Din pondered whether or not to ask about Val's stomach. She was quite sure that the goddess wasn't just fat. She had to be carrying cubs. She doubted she'd need to ask now, though... Din caught herself staring rather blatantly at Val's overly-large stomach with an expression of mild curiosity, mingled with a tinge of confusion. She flicked her eyes back up to the goddess, deciding not to ask out loud, but her actions would ask. Whether or not the other would answer, she didn't know, but she would still try to get the answer to her curiosity.

"Really? I guess your quite popular with the god crowd." Val smiled, showing that she meant no offense, "So I'm guessing you were just reborn?" Reborn was something interesting that Val always wanted to learn more about. She knew that she had past lives and that she had been reborn at some point or another but she retained no memories except that of plants and a particular place that she can not even remember all that well.

Din was right, she didn't need to out right ask about Val's growing belly. Val wasn't insulted but she was a bit embarrassed. This pregnancy came as a surprise but at least it was a welcome surprise now. "I'm pregnant as you noticed and I guess if you stick around long enough you will get to meet some new born mortals up close and personal." She laughed lightly if a bit nervously since Val didn't really know what the future would hold for her mortal cubs.

"It sure seems that way," Din said with a small chuckle. "Well, I was reborn as a cub up there, but I sat around and obsessed about my last life until just recently... I can remember ones before my last one," she said, closing an eye in concentration, trying to remember even now. "But I can't remember my last one... or what I think was my last one... for the life of me. It's weird, and it bugged me, so after quite a while pondering, I decided to give up on it and give this life its all."

She was glad she didn't need to ask, and that there was no anger in the other god's voice. That was a relief to her, certainly. "Huh. Maybe I'll come back to see the little things." She said thoughtfully. Probably not, but there was a small chance. Just curiosity.... So they were mortals... She thought she could remember doing that once long ago. Luckily, she'd learned to detach herself by then, and she'd dumped them on their dad. After all... She had been so soft back then that knowing she would have outlived them would've broken her.

Yet another valuable lesson learned- and remembered from a past life.

But with her newer outlook on life... Heck, mortal cubs would be interesting, perhaps something to ponder for the near future.

"I can't say as I ever had that type of problem, I don't remember much of any of my past lives and I left Haven as soon as I was old enough to begin my work down here. I've never been back, has anything changed?" Val was curious about her old home and would have returned at some point but things kept occurring here in the mortal world so she never actually found the time and now she didn't even want to contemplate it because of the cubs she was carrying. Could mortal cubs even go to the Gods Haven?

"That would be great since I think they will have to have a good sense of gods." Val smiled sheepishly, "I'm going to try to avoid telling them for as long as possible. De, the father, doesn't even know." The green goddess used one of the universal powers granted to all the gods and used illusions to make her wings disappear. "I think I can pull off being mortal for as long as I need too." She looked back at her now wingless shoulders before dropping the illusion.

Din decided to take a seat, tail curling around her and wings folded at her side. "I kinda wish I could forget all of them, it'd make life very different for me... But on the other hand, I appreciate some of the memories I have." After all, they kept her from repeating past mistakes- it would be such a big pity to repeat the past without learning... That would make her truly weak... mortal-like.

"Yes, and it would probably be educational for me. I don't recall ever meeting god-born mortals... Maybe I did in the past, but I really don't remember." She didn't even know if they were different in any way from other mortals...

Oh well.

"It'd probably be a surprise for this 'De' to learn that you're a goddess!" Din said with a chuckle. "I rarely disguise myself, but it's pretty convincing when I do, too." she said, watching as the green goddess' wings disappeared before they sprouted back. Din mirrored the action, forcing her own wings to fade for a few moments before reappearing to their normal semi-transparent form. "Whenever I do disguise myself, I reveal myself before I leave to see reactions, I personally find it quite amusing," she said with a wry grin and a chuckle.

Val understood when Din said that she appreciated what memories she kept, even if she didn't really have any past life memories she would keep her current memories close to her heart. "I don't really think they will be different from other mortal cubs but like you I haven't dealt with any before." Val shrugged a bit, not terribly worried about what her cubs would be like since she knew that she would love the cubs anyway, she hoped.

"I think De would take it pretty calmly," Val smiled and said with laughter in her voice, "he really doesn't strike me as someone who would think to hard about it." De really wasn't all that bright but he made her smile which for Val that was enough, for now.

"I haven't done that, well except once a long time ago, I just normally don't think about it. Besides I normally keep my wings out but apparently most just don't recognize them as wings, I guess." Val shrugged and chuckled a little.

"One way or another, I bet it'll be interesting, and they'll probably keep you on your toes," she said. She couldn't imagine raising cubs, she wondered how mortals did it. She really wasn't a fan of fresh lives- lives that could remember a few past experiences were great since they were often at least a bit more mature at birth. (Or so it seemed to her.) Mortal cubs, though? No memories, no nothing. It's a fresh start, she didn't know how anyone could work with such creatures. But Val seemed willing and brave enough to take the task on.

"This De sounds pretty down-to-earth," Din said, disappointed, somewhat. What fun was someone who didn't react dramatically? No fun, that's what. She kept her opinion well concealed from her face, though. This goddess must at least like De, since she was willing to have cubs with him.

"I can see that, a mortal not seeing them as wings. I'll bet they think you're wearing some sort of planty-scarf that's only on your shoulders," she said. As a goddess, Din-tei was used to seeing appendages of sorts growing from the shoulders of lions, but mortals might not see it that way if they're not used to it. The more she thought about it today, the more foolish and the more interesting mortals became.

"Yes, I expect they will especially if they take after their father." A inquisitive cub Val could probably handle but a cub that took after their father and turned the energy level up might very well where her down. But that is all in the future right now since even Val can't tell what her cubs will be like.

"De? Yes he is. He is a joy to be around but sometimes he is just not the sharpest stick in the savanna but I like him anyway." Val smiled to lighten the harsh feel of that sentence, even if it was true. De is a great leopard, that can not be denied, but sometimes it just seemed like he just didn't get it.

"That seems to be the consensus." She smiled and looked at her tiny wings, "I think most think they are like part of a charm or something. Some kind of marking for a position but you know it works since I'm not a big fan of shouting out who I am. Its kind of hard helping someone when they are scared of you because your a god." That hasn't happened yet and Val wasn't planing on it happening anytime soon.

Val was a bit startled that when she looked up to the clouds that the sun was as low as it was, apparently she had been out longer then she thought she had been. "Oh dear, I guess I should head back." She looked at Din and wondered if the other goddess wanted to come back with her. "You can come with me if you want but please don't tell him I'm a god I don't think I'm ready for that."

The goddess wondered if demi-god cubs taking after the mortal half of their origins would be a good thing or a bad thing. Though, she tended to think bad- mortals were weaker, after all. "It will be interesting to see how they turn out," she said honestly. And she wasn't sure she could understand how one could like the unsharpest-stick, but she figured to each their own, and shrugged it off. After all, De wasn't her cub's mate.

She didn't have any cubs anyway- that was an all new brand of freedom.

"Makes sense," she said, somewhat understanding why someone would walk around disguised. Not for her tastes, again, but she could see some level of appeal to it.

"Hmm, you're right. I should be heading back to find my familiar anyway," she said to the other goddess. "Besides, I think it would be absolutely most interesting to see them when they're older," she said with a nod. The goddess had seen many cubs over the courses of her lifetimes, this litter of cubs would be just another one. "Perhaps we shall meet again, Val," Din said as she turned to head off across the savannah in search of her little maned-wolf secretary.
