Personality: Emmilyn can be viewed in a variety of different ways depending on the situation. To her superiors, she is always attentive, courteous and friendly; to her peers, she seems more reserved and perhaps even a little more hostile. This isn't to say she doesn't like those she works with; it's just that she doesn't want to grow too attached to her colleagues.
When not meeting other people in a work-like scenario, Emmilyn is a lot more approachable. Always willing to lend a helping hand where it's needed and keen to go out of her way to make others feel good, it seems bizarre that a girl like her would join any military division. Once she has established a bond of friendship with someone, she remains fiercely loyal towards them until death - no exceptions. "My word is my bond" is a phrase she commonly uses when establishing that initial trust with someone she hopes to grow close to.
History: Very little is known about Emmilyn's past - whether this is because she doesn't remember or because she chooses to forget is a question that will potentially remain unanswered for a very long time. Her demeanour and behaviour around animals (especially of the canine variety) would hint that wherever she came from, she was around dogs a lot. She seems to have a basic understanding of their behaviour that she gained before joining the Academy.

Personality: Professionalism is the only trait which seems to be keeping Shadowbane in the Academy right now - he is often rather hostile towards the other wolves in his pack when they are not training or on the battlefield. He would never truly hurt another pack member - he just wishes they would leave him alone when they don't need to be around one another.
Emmilyn seems convinced there is a softer side to the unsociable wolf, and is clearly quite determined to coax it out of him.. whether or not that side of him truly exists is open to interpretation. Nonetheless, Shadowbane seems to have a deep-rooted respect for Emmilyn; in his eyes, they share a mutual view on how they should act around their peers and superiors. Shadowbane would gladly die to protect his bonded.
History: Shadowbane had always shown a certain degree of hostility towards the other pups in his litter, and as he aged, he seemed to ostracize himself more and more.
He was exposed to a few potential recruits, each of them hopeful they would bond with a wolf. He showed no interest, barely budging from the cave in which he resided. That all changed when it was Emmilyn's turn to bond - he seemed to be slightly more tolerant of her presence than anyone else's. As soon as her fingers touched his fur he knew she was the one he would bond with.
There is no miracle story here, and if truth be told, Shadowbane is still the same grumpy wolf he was when he was born; it's just that he is slowly learning how to deal with being around other humans than his bonded.
