That just proves the point that nudity=sex.
I don't think nudity automatically means sex or anything sexual. There are many places in the world where people wear very little clothing and where women are completely topless. I do
not think those people are walking around with sex always on their mind because of it. And I don't think they think "OMG BEWBZ!!1!" all the time either.
I think
we just have sexual thoughts when we see nudity basically because we have become uptight. We moved to colder places that required more clothes. We got used to being covered up. We got used to only seeing nudity in sexual situations. So now we see nudity, and we think sex. But that's just our society. It's sort of the way we
taught ourselves to
see nudity, not the way nudity
truly is.
And in many ways, it's hurting us. There are so many people who really need to see a doctor but they don't. Not because of money, not because they're afraid of needles. Because they don't want to be seen naked. There are many women who are afraid to breastfeed in public, so they bottle feed (which is not as good for the baby) instead.
So nudity does not necessarily mean sex. It
can mean sex. But it can also mean birth, a doctor's visit, breastfeeding, a way to cool off, just plain being natural, etc. And I really think we should push to
desexualize it a bit. It's absurd that people are afraid to have a doctor see them or that breastfeeding mothers have to hide in a bathroom or wear a poncho.
