~Vice-Captain's Office~ Standing in the shadow of the Captain's office building, the Vice-Captain's office is a small structure with only one floor. On the outside, it looks like any other traditional Japanese building. Large, wooden doors are inscribed with the 13th Division insignia, and a small plate to the side reads the name of the current Vice-Captain. Upon entering, you are met with a wide and airy hallway, with two sliding doors leading off either side of it. The door to the right, always kept open, is the lounge, or waiting room. It is a small room with two sofas, a table and a shelf of ordinary books. A small cupboard on the wall contains tea leaves and a tea-set. The door to the left reads: Vice-Captain's Office. It is a large room, elegantly furnished with a polished desk and various locked bookshelves containing the Vice-Captain's own documents. There is a large screen which slides open to the outside from here. In front of that screen stands the desk and chairs. This desk usually has many things on it, but all arranged neatly, with room for paperwork. (( I will be in here most of the time, if I am not, post anyway. If I do not arrive in three or four days, feel free to PM me- I might be away or have just missed the thread. ))

As Kazuki Hinata entered her new office, she was shocked to discover her desk already consumed by some paperwork monster. She sifted through it- some of this related to incidents weeks old. Sighing in exasperation, she arranged it all into neat piles, then sat down at her desk in a business-like manner and started mixing ink.
Having been educated by her noble house, her brain was accustomed to doing these types of tasks; soon, it had switched to autopilot, and found herself fazing out of focus while her hands still did the writing.

Asuko cautiously walked towards the office, ever hesitant, looking around for anyone who would see him. Not that he wasn't supposed to be seen, but he was a very wary person. Quietly, he stepped up into the building, silently making his way to the center of the structure. Seeing that the other room was devoid of anyone inside, and that the other door had clear markings, it wasn't hard for him to decide which was the vice captain's office. He stood before the doorway, fearful of just who the vice captain was, or what they would be like. Hesitantly, he did not open the door, but simply called out the name that read upon the door, asking if she were there. He kept his head lowered, and eyes closed, half respectfully, half fearfully.

Upon hearing a voice request her presence outside the door, Hinata's pen paused, as she tried to sense who it was by their reiatsu.
"Oh? It's your unseated officer... Okusa Asuko, if I recall correctly?" her zanpaktou, Harikaze, commented. Nodding, Hinata called for him to enter.
As Asuko stepped into the room, the Vice-Captain rose to greet him with a smile.
"Hello, I don't believe we've been introduced properly. My name is Kazuki Hinata, new Vice-Captain of this division. So..." She waved him over to the chair opposite her desk, before sitting down herself. "What brings you to my office today, Okusa-san?"

Timidly, he stepped into the office, his eyes darting around, noting the decorations and furniture for the briefest moment, before turning his attention back to the lady returning to her desk. Shakily, he took a few steps forwards to the center of the room. He was extremely nervous, and seemed almost too scared to even sit down, despite the friendly gesture his vice captain was showing him. His hands were restless and sweaty, so he held them together in front of them, holding them against his body. " W-Well met, Kazuki-san." He bowed deeply before her.
"I come bearing news of the current situation that has arisen on earth." His voice was shaky, but dutiful. He shifted a little before speaking again. "Following orders from the higher powers, I went to earth to address the issue of the several space-time "anomalies" that were occurring in Karakura town. I was one of the last to arrive, so I really don't know much of what happened, but I can tell you this: There were a large group of knights, clad in strange armor, wielding strange weapons, and in the center, was a female knight, who summoned a large crystal, which now sits invisibly on the ground in the spot where the knights were. The knights, however, quickly vanished once the crystal was summoned. " He drew a breath, as if he didn't take time to breathe while saying all that. "Another squad has been sent to study the crystal." He paused again, taking on a different mood. "Also, while I was on earth, I heard from another shinigami that our captain is missing? Is that true?" He went from nervous and duty-driven, to nervous and concerned. He hoped that what that man had mentioned was just a rumor, and that everything was fine, but...

Hearing of the strange happenings on Earth, Hinata nodded seriously. She frowned as she contemplated the situation; she had never heard of these "knights", and took it upon herself to ask around the other divisions for further information.
"Thank you for reporting this, Okusa-san. Now..." She stood and paced the room. "As we know nothing of the intentions of these so-called 'knights', we must assume the worst and be on alert. So far, I have not received any orders regarding what the Division should do- I can only tell you to keep on doing as you are now, and report any new events to me immediately. If you, by any chance, receive any orders from higher-ups, be there as quickly as you can."
The Vice-Captain paused, stopping to face Asuko with a pensive expression. "... As for our Captain, I can see that you are concerned, but MockaDash-Taicho often goes on his own missions and excursions; he's always back sooner or later. I'll try and send a message to him; if not... I think we'll manage. The Captain-Commander will probably instruct us."
With a wan smile, Hinata sat again. "Is there anything else you'd like to say? If not, you can go," she finished, picking her brush back up again.

Akira would stroll up to the Vice captains one floor office building and carry a slight skip in his steps. He was happy he'd come to alive since their last meeting and he felt it was to long since he'd seen the woman who made him feel love. Though maybe a bit strange in it's foundation, it was pure and Akira wanted to persue hinata with ll he had. Yet his walls to climb over to get to her would be high and who'd know when she'd leet him in truly. So Akira came to the long hall and looked about curiously as he moved on into the waiting room. In his hand was a lily he'd picked up on his walk over to the squad and he thought she'd like it. Though it was kinda old fashioned he thought she'd appreciate the gesture. Coming to the screen in which she was behind, Akira couldn't help overhearing the words between the unseated officer Asuko and Miss Kuzaki herself.
Akira would step away from the screen and sit in the seats provided and wait for Asuko to leave before he'd enter the room to talk to Hinata. AKira was sure she'd be feeling a penge of stress from what was sddenly her responsibility being the new Vc of the 13th division. now commanding Officer in Mocks little vanishing act. Akira wold think to himself. Damn it mock, you've always been a bit of a strange man. Yet I thought you'd at least be here to hold the troops together, or at leave a damn note...god why are shinigami so spontanious. He'd sigh to himself as he'd think of this closing his eyes a bit hunched over in the chair twirling the flower the index and thumbs of his hands. His expression vaguely showed his thoughts, so it would of been hard for one who didn't know him well to get what he may of been thinking.

"Umm... u-uh no, I-I think that's all." Asuko made another deep bow before Hinata. "Th-thank you very much for your time, Kazuki-san. I will be leaving now, as you have someone else who is here to see you..." He wasn't quite sure of the spiritual pressure, but he could definitely hear the footsteps of the person outside, as they entered the building. He backed up to the door, before turning around to open it and leave. He took a quick look at the person sitting in the other room, before hurredly exiting. He made a sigh of relief as he continued on his way. Now... what to do next... he thought to himself. Well... it wouldn't hurt to check out the forest...

Hinata paused in her writing as Asuko exited her office. She had definitely recognised the reiatsu from their last meeting, and the thought that Akira had come to see her again so soon exasperated her somewhat. Unknowingly, a small smile appeared on her lips- he was such a romantic. The Akira she had met at the start of their battle had definitely been more down-to-Earth. She tidied away her papers, before rising and lightly stepping out of her room.
"Akira-san!" she sang, poking her head into the room opposite her own. Spotting the other shinigami hunched over in his seat with a slight scowl, she wondered vaguely what he was thinking- whatever it was, she hoped it was not because of her. "How have you been since I dragged you to the Fourth Division?" she questioned, strolling into the room to stop before her visitor with a natural smile.

Hearing the sound of the sliding door opening again and Hinata's voice lyrically traveling to his ears Akira would look up at her with his slightly troubled face and gaze into her eyes for a moment before he'd answer her question. "Well I'm doing fine Hinata-chan, it makes me happier than you'd know to hear you ask me that question...I actually came here to take you away for sometime and well, talk. Though I have a feeling that you've got more pressing things to focus on, but I can't lie..."
Coming to his feet Akira would hold the lily in his hand as walk over to Hinata to stand before her. Slowly moving to touch her hand and place the flower in her hands he'd gently close her hand. placing his fingers between hers. Standing over her he'd rest is forehead on hers moving his hair to the side. smiling at her and obviously showing a bit of anxiety or maybe anticipation. " I really am starting to become a fool for you. So I guess I'll stay here and steal your time anyway. So should we be constructive?..." He'd query with a bit of lust in his voice, but he'd pull away from a unconscious kiss and let go of her hand as he'd find a bit more breathing space between the two. Clearing his throat he'd say," So I over heard your worries and I want to know if you want any help around here. Yet as I said before I really just want to stick around you for a bit. So, Tea?"

(( He kissed her... unconsciously?! rofl
I am having writers' block ¬.¬ ))
Hinata did not flinch as Akira pressed his forehead against hers, but stood still, smiling in exasperation. Twirling the flower in her fingers absent-mindedly, she raised her head as his hands left hers, and listened attentively as he explained his reasons for coming.
"I'll get it." She flitted over to the cupboard, laying out a tea-tray for two. Careful not to burn herself, she poured the tea, stirred the leaves and returned to the small coffee table. She sat across from Akira, taking a sip from her cup before looking up.
"Hmm... Well, I can hardly say I'm perfectly fine, but I've been more stressed in my life," the Vice-Captain remarked. "See, with what these knights invading all over the place, and all my seated officers out on Earth and Las Noches, I suddenly found myself with more free time than is natural, really. And free time gives rise to a load of rubbish thoughts like: 'Where is Mock-Taicho', 'When will Mock-Taicho come back', 'have I been taking care of the squad properly'... I've gotten so used to the hectic life here, that I'd almost forgotten how to worry." She sighed, rubbing her temples from the headache that was coming on just by thinking about it.
"I was always an unseated member- I'd never been seated until I suddenly skipped to Vice-Captain. The sudden overload of responsibility was... unsettling. Training newbies, older members for Shikai... Che. And on top of that, I trained with Evil-Taicho for Shunpo. Maybe the next time we battle, I'll be able to match you in speed, hm?" Chuckling, she cocked her head, waiting for a response.

:Suri slowly stepped down the hall, allowing herself to study the simple yet elegant architecture of the Japanese style building. In keeping with the reverence of a superior officer's space, her dark brown suede boots made nary a noise on the ground. Merging her reiatsu with the breeze blowing in, Suri allowed herself to relax and sense about the building to see if there was anyone around.
Upon sensing two presences in the actual office, Suri decided that it would be better to wait. Besides, she was in no rush. With her random reappearance, Suri was not anxious to alert the Sereitei to her presence. There was no telling when she would have to dash off again, so she might as well keep the number of people who knew that she was back small. In addition, she had no reason for visiting Hinata save for paying a casual call. It had been a pleasant surprise for her to hear that Hinata had been promoted to the status of Vice-Captain. She could still recall the time when she had judged the woman in a tourney - Hinata's abilities were quite adept.
Strolling into the waiting area, Suri casually reached up to the bookshelf and pulled down a brief, introductory volume about the ice element. Considering she was a user of ice, there was little for her to learn, but it was always good practice to brush up on knowledge. Choosing not to remove her zanpaku~to from her cloth belt though, Suri instead chose to stand in the center her eyes scanning the words of the open book whie her mind wandered over the small list of people who she was considering paying a visit to.:

(( My character's sort of an expatriate, sort of a renegade. If anything, I guess your character shouldn't be expecting mine at all. I judged the tournament for you back when I was VC of 5th squad, but then I semi-quit (without killing my character) because of RL.
As a matter of fact, we've never met IC either, so I don't expect Hinata to know much or anything of Suri. ))

((Akira knows your character though. He makes it his business to know almost everyone who's been here for awhile. I've seen Suri about before, but never really had Akira talk to her.))
Akira listened, hanging on Hinata's every word as she went on about herself. His eyes and his face expressed genuine interest as she'd go on about herself. It made Akira feel a warmth of normalcy that he'd long been with out. As she'd leave him with a question Akira would chime into the conversation visibly delighted, " Well we'll have to see about that. It's not just about the speed you know. hehe. I had to learn that the hard way, by getting knocked around by those who just understood my speed better than me and were able to anticipate my moves. With just that it threw off my little talent completely. So I'd say find your speed and from there how you use it rather than how fast you are will be what counts. Though you have a bit of work ahead you. When we fight again I'm sure I'd of come up with few ideas on how to tackle what you may be packing." Akira would pause to take a sip of tea before he'd notice someone was out side of the waiting room. He'd not say anything leaving it to Hinata the host at the moment to call in whoever she wished to.
"..Well As for the issues with the space of time left in your head that makes your mind wonder...well I guess I can remedy that, hehe. Though I think you should just try and make the most of your new responsibilities. I know it's a lot to be the one everyone looks to for answers is difficult when you don't always have them, but I believe you can manage with the grit you showed in our match." A snide look would come across Akira's face. " ..Or do you want to be reminded of it?..."
