It was with great care and much planning Dacj plotted her adventure--'borrowing' some of Phoebe's tentacle sheaths for her sensitive limbs...well, more like the whole drawer since she had twice the limbs of her jellyfish sister, but Phoebe was just going to play video games today so it wasn't like she'd need them. She also hastily stuffed the Googlemap directions in her pouchette--once Phoebe told her the general area, it hadn't been too hard search apartment buildings in the area with at least two bedrooms, which was only one building in the area, the rest being one bedrooms or studios. Then she used one of her clubs to borrow a floppy brimmed hat from the standing coat-and-hat rack in the entry hall, and she was off!
She made it to the target around midafternoon--she'd stopped a lot to rest or investigate parks on the way, and once for lunch--and scanned the mail area. A ha! she thought, recognizing one of the surnames on the box. Unit number now in mind, she went to go knock on the door--with just her right hand, though at least seven of her other limbs quivered with excitement.

Seth was at the computer, browsing the web for any information that could possibly be of any use. He had spent most of the morning trying to research reliable methods of world travel and such, but the results were quite slim. Most of what came up was simply sci-fi mumbo jumbo. His ears perked up a bit at the knock on the door, and initially he was unsure of whether he actually wanted to answer it or not. The last time he had answered the door it wasn't to find out very good news after all. Still, he got up from his seat and walked over anyway.
The cheetah Hyte was quite a bit surprised to say the least when he answered the door. "Who- Dacj?" he asked in shock, not expecting to see the little kraken girl. He went ahead and ushered her in before closing the door behind them. "Wow, you grew. Congratulations." Despite her many many legs, she really was quite cute. It dawned on him though that she seemed to be alone. "Erm, how did you get here exactly?"

"With ingenuity!" Dacj said, grinning at Seth. It was a bit disorienting now that she was taller--he'd seemed so much bigger back when she was a baby kraken--but he was just as nice as she'd remembered. "And thank you for the congratulations~ See, look, I have fingers now! Fingers!," she added, wiggling the digits at him.

The cheetah Hyte couldn't help but chuckle. "I can see that," he said with a small smile. He remembered well how different everything was when he first grew into a child. His body had taken some time to get used to, but she seemed to be adjusting to the change quite well. "You look very lovely by the way." He glanced around the apartment briefly, wondering how exactly Eli might react when he saw her there. Hm, well, they have to meet eventually I suppose... where is he though? Seth had been so wrapped up in his earlier research that he hadn't quite been paying attention to the magical boy's whereabouts. "Would you like something to drink, Dacj? I know it's not exactly a short walk between here and the cottage."

"Oh, I made lots of stops! My water bottle could probably use a refill though," she said, fishing the object out of her pouchette and presenting it to Seth with both hands.
Eli had been in the shower--well, he'd gotten out about an hour ago but it took approximately that long for his hair to dry enough that he wouldn't get a completely soaked back. Even still, he'd done a quick long braid and coiled that up on the back of his head. He wasn't expecting to go out of the apartment much at all today, so it didn't really matter what his hair looked like...
That was his last thought as he wandered out into the living room, and then his brain froze quite suddenly at the sight of a little girl on top of a roiling mass of evil--er, tentacles. He blinked several times, and realized it was actually a torso on top of tentacles, and then took a few more moments to process that this had to be Dacj.
He briefly wondered if Maxx and Jun had created her just to spite him, because she was the summation of everything the magical boy kuppy feared--and then Dacj spoke, waving at him with one very human-looking hand. "Hi, Eli!" He had to forcibly wrench his gaze upwards from those ten limbs of terror on her lower half, to the very normal and cute looking little girl on top. He took a deep breath.

Ah, there was Eli. And, as expected, he seemed to have gone into a state of shock at the sight of Dacj. "Um, Eli, this is Dacj," Seth introduced awkwardly as he accepted the water bottle from the kraken girl. "Erm, are you alright?" the kuppy had paled quite a bit, and the cheetah Hyte was wondering if he wasn't about to faint again.

Dacj took a breath herself and puffed out her chest, so that her tentacles made her a bit taller, closer to eye level. "Don't even look down," the kraken advised. "I can't stop really stop moving them, so it's best to keep your eyes on my face."
In spite of everything, Eli smiled faintly. Her practical advice reminded him very much of his mother. "I'm sorry," he said, quite helplessly, trying his best to keep his eyes well elevated.
"It's all right," Dacj replied soothingly. "Phoebe told me all about it. But I am your sister so sooner or later we'll have to work this out." She flashed Seth a quick smile and added, "I promise I won't climb on your head or ask for piggyback rides or anything."
"That's...reassuring," Eli said, trying to be positive.

Seth smiled faintly at the conversation between the two. He had to admit, she was handling the kuppy quite well- and visa versa. "I'll be right back then," he remarked as he went to the kitchen to refill the water bottle. When he returned it seemed that everything was still going along pretty well. "So, Dacj, what made you decide to come visit?" the cheetah asked curiously, handing her back her drink.

Dacj settled herself into one of the chairs, conscientiously tucking the edges of her tentacles behind her, mindful that they'd likely distract Eli. "Well, I wanted to meet Eli finally and from the way Mom was saying something to Phoebe I figured Eli wasn't coming to the Cottage anytime soon...also, it's a really nice day and I thought it was a pity to stay inside all day~"
"Mom doesn't know where you are?" Eli asked, concerned.
"I left her a note, but she's cloistered down in the lab so I'll probably be home before she comes upstairs," Dacj said, with a little shrug. "Phoebe's grinding video games. Missy--I think I've only ever glimpsed her, that's how much time she spends in that garage apartment of hers."
"It's like a little house," Eli agreed.

True, Seth had yet to see Missy for quite sometime himself, but it was still a bit of an odd thing to hear from someone who was living with her. "Ah, I see. Well, I'm glad that you decided to come visit, but I wouldn't recommend wandering out on your own in the future," the cheetah remarked. "It's not very safe." It wasn't as if they didn't all have a very recent and real precedent in mind as to why one shouldn't just wander out alone...

Dacj blinked at him. "Oh. Yes. I suppose I should call ahead next time, shouldn't I..." Though she hadn't yet met Noelani properly (the kuppy woman yelling at their mother about her didn't count), she was aware of Noe's disappearance, but it had taken her a moment to really remember why the atmosphere might be a bit tense around here. "I suppose I could've asked Shimy for a ride but..." The kraken shrugged. What was there to say? She'd barely had contact with Shimy either. "Besides, you see a girl with ten legs come down the street, you don't ask very many questions."
Eli had to admit the truth to that logic. "I imagine you were quite a sight."

The cheetah smiled faintly. She did have a point there. "True enough. Still, next time you feel like coming over I'd be happy to give you a ride myself," he offered.
So... now what? There wasn't really a whole lot to do around the apartment besides maybe reading or tv and such, but he wasn't entirely sure what Dacj usually did for entertainment. "So... getting used to being humanoid yet?" he asked, trying to think of a good topic of conversation.

"It's much more fun than being a squidlet," Dacj said, twining her fingers together and stretching her arms out. "I love my fingers. I am just saying. They are quite possibly the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Eli couldn't help but chuckle to that. "I can't exactly empathize--well, besides the fact I was born humanoid...I have always wondered a bit if I missed out on the whole Hyte experience. Then again, who knows what an animal kuppy would really look like..."
"Oh, I'm sure a kuppy animal's easier than mixing most other things," Dacj said, sitting her hands in what served for her lap. "Imagine if I ever did Gen--you'd get a little animal with random wiggly bits all over it!"

There was just the slightest sense of de ja vu as Eli spoke of never having had an animal form. "Hm, yes, fingers are quite useful," the cheetah agreed, looking over his still rather paw-like hands. "You didn't really miss out on too much though, Eli. We tend to grow rather quickly, so it's not as if animal stages are really enjoyed for that long." Indeed, several in his batch had grown even faster than the norm for a Hyte- himself included. It was quite interesting having become an adult before some of the Hytes that were actually older than himself. "It would be rather interesting seeing gen batches as animals though. I imagine the results would be quite a sight."

"Shimy's got a chart about it somewhere," Eli volunteered. "Though it came out a little too odd for public sharing...probably for the best." He paused, considering. "I'm told Mom was a bit neurotic as a kitten."
"She's still a bit neurotic," Dacj said dryly. Though Mena was certainly one of her favorite people, things like breeding animals your son (and mother, really, even if Shimy seemed to handle it better than Eli) were deathly enemies of, and going into violent rages at the sight of polar bears were not typically considered particularly well-adjusted behavior.
