This boy was going to be a problem, Kaydon was sure. He did not look happy to have his ID photo taken. He didn't look happy, period. Amidst the usual shots (three of them, there were) he would also be injecting an antivenom to keep the boy from killing anyone he may accidentally (or purposefully) sting.

"I DON'T WANT SHOTS."

And that would be Kaydon's first clue that there was something amiss in his happy hallway.

"I DON'T HAVE RABIES I DON'T NEED SHOTS."

"Zach, shut the ******** up." His guardian replied. "You need them, you're getting them.

"I DON'T NEED SHOTS AAAAAAAAA-"

He was a very contrary little b*****d.

"You do need shots," Kaydon said calmly, preparing a syringe and motioning for the medical cot at the back of his classroom, "If you need to be restrained, I can do that too." He shot the boy a smile. So far, he was only joking.

...well. Mostly joking.

Zach puffed up at the sight of the man, glaring at him. "I do not need shots."

All the while, he was being dragged back towards the cot by his guardian. Zach puffed up more the closer they got to Kaydon.

"Yes you do, so you don't get terrible diseases," Kaydon said, "I'm just going to swab off the area--

He unwrapped a cotton swab and gestured toward Zach's arm.

"Right or left?"

Zach just puffed at him.

"Right, probably." Rene answered for the brat, swinging him up onto the cot. "He's a southpaw."

"Interesting! There's very few of those," Kaydon replied, swabbing the right arm and poising the needle while he held Zach still.

"Just a little p***k..." Bam! Right into the muscle and plunger pushed quickly. Tugged out again. Kaydon worked with children previously. He was used to painless shots. However, the flowing fluid beneath the child's transparent skin was fascinating.

"...will you look at that..."

Zach growled at him and looked down at the shot.

"It looks gross and you're a jerk."

"Mm, yes, I know," Kaydon nodded, prepping a new area and a new syringe, "All doctors are. It's a fault we have." The second shot went quick, and he began prepping another syringe.

"You're being quite good, actually. I've had children scream and cry."

"I don't cry." Zach said, rather boisterously. "It doesn't hurt, it just feels weird."

"I can tell. Does anything hurt you?"

It was a general interest, sure, but he couldn't see any nerves...or organs...

In went the third shot, and perhaps 8 seconds after the injection it began to burn. Kaydon rubbed the spot with a gloved hand, trying to dispel the fluid.

"No," Zach had said at the hurting question, but he yelped when it started to burn. He smacked at Kaydon's hand, trying to replace it with his own.

"Ow!"

Kaydon jerked his hand away and let him. Why not, right?

"I think you're lying to me." He prepped the next syringe carefully. He didn't want to get any on him, after all.

"Does your hair sting, Zach?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 14, 2010 6:51 pm

"When I want it to." Zach said, rubbing his arm. "And my tentas, too. I only sting when people deserve it, cuz I gotta think about it."

Perhaps it was something to do with the way he'd been engineered, but that was how it worked.

"Oh, good. Please don't sting me."

Kaydon swabbed an area at the back of the boy's neck and lifted it like a scruff.

"This will not sting like the last one." He injected Zach like one may a diabetic puppy and smiled.

"There. Now you won't be spending your life in juvenile hall."
