It was the middle of the afternoon and Jahi, having just awoken from a rather long nap, was wide-awake. The sun hung high and bright in the cloudless sky. It was very warm. Jahi, who'd succumbed to sleep under the shade of a lonesome tree, yawned loudly and arched his back as he stretched his limbs; testing out his claws against the soft earth, and trying to soothe his parched mouth by licking his lips and sucking on the inside of his cheeks. There was water nearby; he could smell it on the wind.

Happily refreshed, the young lion craned his neck in order to see farther, and his eyes sparkled when they lighted on the murky river that flowed gently not twenty feet ahead of him. The tide was low, and the banks on either side were thick with mud, but Jahi was too thirsty to be bothered about getting a little dirty. He grinned to himself and started towards it at an eager pace.

Unbeknownst to the young lion, a rather unfriendly and hungry creature lurked in the depths of the mud. Sheba was a very old and massive crocodile, with a powerful jaw and sharp teeth. One of her eyes was missing, from a disagreement she'd had with her sister many years ago, and the other one was half-blind. She could not see very much at all, but her sense of smell was all the more keen because of it. The ancient crocodile lazed on her stomach in the cool, wet filth of the riverbank and, when the scent of an approaching lion tantalized her nostrils, all but quit breathing in anticipation.

He was not close, but he was nearby. A practiced and skilled hunter, Sheba waited and turned her milky yellow eye in the direction of her prey.

"Yip Yip!"

The air was splattered in a hue of colors as come vibrant birds took off in flight and leaving some of their feathers behind. Among the frail rainbow there was the dark form of a predator, with her blue paw stretching up and forward.....reaching.....

Only to catch empty air. Growling in agitation, the lioness landed back on the ground and cursed her hunting skills. Or rather all the darn bird eyes that had caught sight of her at the last moment. And now they were gone leaving only their mocking voices echoing in the air around her. And her stomach was still hungry. Kicking the mud under her paws, Kusu flicked ears as she looked down to the odd texture. Mud? That could only mean there was water nearby. Hmm, and she was thirsty now that she thought of it. Using her nose and ears, the lioness prowled her way to the river's edge within minutes. Though she did pause when she spotted another predator on the other side of the body of water.

Water.

That was something that Tayhira wanted and probably needed. She'd left her travelling companion wherever he happened to have left himself. He was smart enough to get along on his own, and seemed to hate her enough to vanish at a moments notice. A part of her felt the same way.

Back at 'home', that curse-damned flower-ridden hell-hole, she'd left adult cubs, some stupid and some smart. Some fraternizing with lions the same as she had; she was no more happier for it. Most had grown brains. On the inside, she was proud, on the outside, she was tired, thirsty, and was making her way around - quite elegantly - on three legs.

It was her front left which drug around behind her, useless. The ligaments had been torn, but the leg had healed well. It had been a miracle, even if the limb was useless, she had not died to infection. The scar itself was hardly noticeable over her patched skin.

She spotted a bright blue spot on the horizon, its tail disappearing over an embankment, and followed. When she reached the spot she had seen him vanish, she peered over the muddy slope, pleased to find that, yes, she had found water.

And, like many a desperate animal, she slipped over the edge with caution cast to the wind and head right for the cure for her parched tongue casting the blue lion a wary look as she went.

(( Feel free to have Sheba react however to whatever. XD Tayhira is a punching bag, norly. ))

"Hmmm" He said to hisself when he roll on the ground. He look around to see if there was going to be anyone to play with. "HELLO!!" He said with a lound voice. He flick his tail. He look around some more and yawn.

Sant'Iris smiled. It had been awhile since he left his Dad to go play on his own. He wasn't sure what this route would take him but he hope that he wouldn't get to far away from his pride. Being only a cub, he could get in a lot of trouble if his dad find out that he went to far out of his pride by himself.
He sigh. He could only go as far as his little feet could take him and it was failing. He started to tried out easily and need to find something to drink. He sniff the air and could smell that water was near. He ran to the smell and spotted a icky muddy water river. Sant'Iris look at it, for a long hard time and wonder if he should put his lips in the water. He was use to nice clear looking water and this kind, that look like carp.
Iris step further into the bank and his nice beige and white paw was engulf in mud. "Great!" he said to himself. It would take him forever, to get out of the mud because it was so deep. He let out a soft whine, hoping that someone would come help him get his little feet out of the mud.

Little Kimo toddled between the grasses higher than her head that were growing in sparse patches around around an ancient watering hole. Yoshiteru, her father's familiar, had walked her only so far, before turning her loose, saying he'd watch. But as she looked back with her pitch-colored eyes, she only saw vast empty lands between the blades of grass. But no matter! She was having fun anyway. The cub grinned and toddled forward closer and closer to the water's edge, and unwittingly, into danger. Her gaze simply passed over the few scales showing above the water, thinking nothing of the 'bumpy log'.

There was a lot of traffic by the river today.

To Sheba's astonishment and glee, the first scent was quickly accompanied buy not just one, but five new ones. The old crocodile inhaled sharply and listened. Her great scaly frame, which was layered in the smooth mud of the riverbank, was well disguised as she considered her surroundings with the practiced grace of an ageless hunter. It had been a long time since the gods had placed such a copious feast at her claws.

She would eat, today, she felt sure. Now, it was just a matter of who. Which of these hapless wanderers were destined to become her prey; which of them would she torture at the bottom of the river; which of them would she save for later? Sheba's mouth watered. It was only a matter of time.

Jahi was predisposed to arrogance. He both heard and saw the other felines as they approached the water's edge. Except to scowl at the silly cubs, sniff at the leopard (whose crippled limb he found offensive) and momentarily ogle the lioness across the river; he paid them no mind and began to drink. It was cold and slightly slimy, but otherwise felt smooth as it slid down his parched throat and sloshed around in his belly.

By now, Sheba had waited long enough. Her patience was wearing thin, and it was time to eat. The leopard (she'd recognized the smell) sounded like it was dragging something along the behind it, which meant that it would be slower and Sheba's first instinct was to strike there. Then the high-pitched cries of two youngsters tickled her lizard ears and her heart soared. One of them was whining, and Sheba moved like lightning towards the furry pink blob. Her tail thrashed madly behind her as she slid on her belly towards the cub, her jaws snapping.

Her lack of eye-sight inhibited her and Sheba, over-excited at the prospect of food, missed her goal by inches.

((sorry it took so long. kept editing for newcomers. whee

also, feel free to attack sheba. she is totally free game.))

Enzi eye got big when he saw what happen. He ran other ther because he was dumb and didn't know better and hit the crocodile in the face. " Ha you bad fish!!!! I Hit you! NO TAG BACK!! hahahahah!" He was puond of his salf and went other to the pink cub. "Are you ok? I'm Enzi! YES!" He said as he shook his head.

Kaelyndra
Tayhira scowled at the lion as she moved by him, just as offended by his lack of injury as he was of hers. It didn't take her long to find a spot that was a proper distance away from the blue lion.

And by the time she lowered her head to drink, there were noises and scents filling her ears and nostrils far more offensive than the single blue lion she had encountered moments ago. She wrinkled her nose in agitation, then took a deep breath and tried to smooth out her features.

She could play the sweet, worried lion who fell on hard times. It might be dangerous with the cubs, they might get attached. Speaking of those cubs, Tayhira found herself watching them much longer than she would have liked. She was supposed to have left motherly instincts in the dust, but there they were, making her wonder when she'd lost her sanity.

There was no question that she had lost her sanity, for when the leopard saw the reptilian beast leap up from the water and aim for a snack, the first thing she thought was not to run, like she should have, but instead to rescue.

"Look out!" she shouted, taking a leap on those three legs and a few more hopping-bounding, clumsy steps before grasping the pink cub's scruff in her jaw, lugging it out of the mud to higher ground along the bank. Her heart was racing when she set it down, only to watch, in horror, as a small blue cub tagged the lion-eating animal on the nose and came trapsing over as if nothing was wrong in the world.

"Are you out of you mind?" she asked it, her voice strained and disbelief on her face. It was not very tactul. She decided to rephrase. "I mean, that's not very safe to do, honey." The words tasted nasty on her tongue and she looked out across the bank, trying to find a lion to give the cubs to. "Where are your parents?"

Iris mind and eyes spin around in a 360 degrees. He didn't know what had just happen but he knew that it almost had died. He shiver and frantically tried to pull up his little legs out of the mud but it didn't work. Big blue tear started to rolled down his pink fluffy cheek. He knew that this was the last time on earth that he would live. He wouldn't get to say by to his father or his sister and brother.

As he thought about this more tears rolled down his face. How was he going to get out of this and save his life. He try to pulls his legs out of the mud but it fail again. As he was about to give up hope an odd looking cheetah came over and hit what Iris thought was a "old bumby log". Iris blink. Was this cheetah nuts or just insane. Why was he talking and hitting a log. There must have been something wrong with him. "What are you doing?" he said almost were any animal would not be able to hear. Iris was shy but in time like this he knew he couldn't be.

((Kael: xD Lol, I guess so! Be gentle. C: ))

Kimo jolted at the sudden movement of the living log. Her ears pinned back on her skull, and she made a face much like her father did all the time. The cub shirked back and threw a black look over her shoulder to look for her temporary guardian, but he was far out of sight. Without her noticing, a leopardess had snatched up a cub, and another still attacked the river beast. A part of Kimo looked to the black and white figure as a source of maternal comfort, but she was paralyzed by shock or fear. She wasn't sure. But from her throat came a small whimper and a moan.

Gee
Jahi wasn't naturally a hero. He was much too selfish and self-conscious to be so. He did, however, have a soft side that he wasn't very attuned to; demonstrations of open affection made him nervous and awkward, and he'd much rather beat someone up than hug them, but that didn't necessarily mean he didn't like anyone. In fact, the opposite was true. Jahi liked everyone- as long as they stayed far away from him.

When the crocodile attacked, his first instinct was to run. Far away. And then the crippled leopard jumped to the rescue, and Jahi paused mid-step. He felt very outdone and, as he was young and strong and uninjured, suddenly ashamed of himself. His innate competitive streak, coupled by an irritating sense of duty to protect fellows weaker and more pathetic than he was, pushed Jahi towards the chaos that was unfolding on the riverbed.

Sheba couldn't see what had hit her and the skin on her scaly nose was too thick for the force of the cub's strike to actually hurt her, but it was very annoying. She hissed and roared, in that way that crocodiles do, and listened as the leopard rose to the occasion.

Writhing in the mud, still hungry, and now angry, Sheba swivelled on her belly to face the source of the voices that raged around her and dove. She was a giant, rolling mass of pissed-off muscle and determined power; her jaws snapped and clicked together as, this time, she moved to attack Tayhira.

Feeling very stupid about his decision to help out, Jahi roared and picked up his speed. He was so close, but he didn't know what he would do when he got there.

Znaruto
Enzi laugh and jump around! "I'm playing! DUH! You don't like to play? That Fish is it so we can not let it hit us! RIGHT!! Oh my mom and dad left me! YUP! HAHAHAHAHA!" He said witha giggle. He look at the crocodile hiss and he stick his touge at it. "YOU DUMB FISH! COME TAG US!! IT A GAME! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He said as he he ran around moving all over the place. He was so dumb that he didn't know that he could get hurt. All he knew it was FUN!

In Tayhira's world, creatures that played with others for fun were quickly dead creatures. But, now she had responsibility over both cubs, for at least a moment, and she responded to the Enzi with, simply, "That's right!" she said, her voice not as calm as she would have liked. "Do not let the," she paused, "fish hit you."

Not her cub, the parents, or the random lion that she was going to dump these two with, could teach the cub what a real fish was later.

That was all the time she had to speak when the horrors of reality came crashing down. "Run," was the only word out of her mouth before she grabbed one of the cubs and tossed it behind her (she wasn't sure which one) and then leapt towards Sheba, one her back claws grazing over the worthless, glazy eye.

She stayed there no more than a half a second, her three legs powering her awkwardly off the creature and sending her tumbling in the direction of the blue lion.

After that heroic move, she hoped to goodness that whoever this boy was, he had a knight in shining armor streak in his bones, or she was going to lose a tail and maybe a back leg to join the front.

(( Edit: Blah, sorry Manchu. XD It's hard to have her throw your cub in when she's running for her life. ))

Iris didn't know what was going on now. He was throw out of the mud onto the higher land and then a ton of new animals came around him. It was like his worst nightmare. Not only did he almost die but there was to much going on for his little brain to handle. He gave out a soft whine, hoping that someone would help him to understand whats going on.

He was about to talk to the leopard, that save his life until she told him to run and that is what he did. He ran right after the leopard and follow her until his little leg could follow her anymore. He jump on the "old bumpy log" and landed on top of the blue lion.

Gee
That one, the strange black and blue blur that zig-zagged all over the place, grated on her nerves like nothing else had in a long time. Sheba did not mind being called a fish, but the sheer stupidity of the creature and its incessantly annoying voice were like an itch that she hadn't yet scratched. She promised herself that, once she was finished with the leopard, she'd make short work of the brat.

Then, there was flash of pain as Tayhira's claws connected with her eye, and the last remnants of Sheba's already poor eye-sight dissipated completely. She howled in pain as blood, mingled with tears, poured from the milky orb.

Something jumped on her back and, hissing passionately, Sheba twisted and snapped her jaw at it.

While he was by no means a knight in shining armour, at that particular point in time, Jahi was the next best thing- and, unless the lioness on the opposite side of the river proved to be as stupid as he was, the only option. Absently wondering why so many cubs had been left without supervision, he watched with wide and admiring eyes as the cripple defended herself. When she tumbled to the mud at his feat, Jahi jumped. Agile and strong, he sailed over the fallen form of the leopard and stepped into place between her and the crocodile.

A menacing roar ripped from his lungs and tore up his throat; Jahi glowered at the blind crocodile who, unintimidated by his approach, but mourning the loss of her sight, slithered backwards a couple of feet with a distinct hiss.

When the pink cub landed on him Jahi, who was not in the mood for anything of the sort, scowled and sharply shook himself to get it off of him.

Znaruto
Enzi ran all over the place and giggles with joy. "YAY WE ALL PLAYING NOW!!!!!!!! NOW THE PINK BOY IS IT! NO WAIT THE BLUE BIG BOY IS! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!" He say as he ran around. He flick his tail and trun around. He rub to the blue lion and grab his tail. "Weeeeeeeeeeee I'm playing with his tail!!" He siwng off his tail and land on the crocodile back and bite it. "Yay! I help!" He said as he jump off and ran all over the place.

Kaelyndra
The shadow was all that Tayhira was aware of as the blue male went sailing over her and landed in a rather precarious position between the animal and her.

Grimacing, and now coated in mud, she brought her three good legs up under her and pushed herself back to her feet. The joints in her front leg buckled and threatened to give out under her weight, but after a moment, it held steady.

Cubs safe - wait, nevermind, oh, yes, safe again - Tayhira took her a few, dragging steps to come evenside with her savior, and though she wasn't in the mood for anymore daring stunts, she also let out a screeching snarl in the reptile's direction.

All they had to do, she theorized, was convince the creature that they were not worth the effort. Then she had other problems, but this one was first.

silent artist
Wow, what an odd mess this had become! And all the same Kusu found herself chuckling at the hilarious drama of a situation. She could hardly blame the crocodile for such a clever temper, and almost pitied the thing for such efforts it had to put forth. Along with the annoying company it found itself with. Glancing up, the blue lioness decided to join the chaos. Leaping up into the low tree branches, the hunter trekked her way across the river via as many branches as she could. Though she did at last have to skip her way into the water to reach the other bank. Shaking off the cold and nearing the group with a wide and careful girth, Kusu lifted a brow.

"So much trouble for the unwise? Pft, leave them to their own mistakes." And she glared at the pathetic younglings, already feeling her own temperament evaporate with their presence.

((Sorry! Had to go clean the kitchen))

Iris smile as the blue lion gave him a stern look. That all he could do, because he knew that no lion would want a strange cub on there back. Iris jump off and gave a small nod., hoping that he wouldn't be too mad at him. He gave out a little cry before he spoke, "What is going on? I'm so confused."

Iris shook his head, because he was the most confused he had been for a long time. There was too much going on that this cub could handle. He had a near death experience and all the animal look big and scary. He sat down and began to cry, hoping that all of this would go away.

Honey Gee
He and the leopard stood united against the crocodile. The reptile was obviously blind, and Jahi knew that they were all very fortunate this was the case. The crocodile was so large and so strong that he suspected, with proper eyesight, they wouldn't have stood a chance. And, he would have let the giant beast have its way with whatever prey it so chose. His life was more important than those that surrounded him- especially that strange looking blue and black cub, who was so painfully stupid that Jahi was tempted to let the crocodile have him in compensation for what Tayhira had done to its eye. He cringed when Enzi pulled his tail, and kicked him with a hind leg.

The leopard's theory was very accurate. Lamenting the loss of her sight and, deciding that she'd much rather stay alive, Sheba hissed and snapped her jaws spitefully once more; but used her hind legs to propel herself backwards, into the river when Kusu joined the fray. Three fully grown felines were too much for her to deal with right now. Maybe she'd get one of the cubs later, when the larger ones had gone.

Jahi watched Sheba through narrowed eyes as she left, and then turned to the others with an unhappy expression on his handsome face. If he'd died, he never would have forgiven them. He agreed completely with Kusu's statement but, as he had rushed to their aid out of pity, kept his mouth shut about that.

Instead, he scowled threateningly at Enzi; "Pull my tail again, and I'll throw you at the crocodile myself."

He had little patience for children, and even less for morons. Never mind that he wasn't the brightest bulb in the drawer himself.

Znaruto
Enzi giggle as the crocodile left. "Yay! I won the game! I SAVE YOU ALL WITH MY TAGING SKILL!"He said as he move his paws all over the place. He look up at the big blue lion. "I sorry but Enzi had to win the game! You didn't seem like you want to win so I did! YUP!!" He smile and giggle. He was so gald that he had fun today. He walk off into grass as he said "Bye see ya later!!! Nice fun I had!!"

Kaelyndra
Tayhira would not lie and feign bravery: she was relieved when the crocodile made its way back to the murky waters out of which it had risen. Gradully, her mind stopped thinking from adrenaline and began to process words, events, and emotions.

She cast a lazy eye in the newest females direction, taking in a deep breath as she inwardly wished to nod in agreement. The blue cub that pronounced himself caused her to shake her head in disbelief.

"I give him about three days, barring anymore motherly suckers." Suckers, including herself, apparently.

The shock and fear finally starting to fade from her system, though off-sounding noises still caused her to twitch from unease, Tayhira was able to give another look at the two lions that arrived.

"Well, you two just look like a mated pair, don't you?"

silent artist
((guess the others are out?)) 8o

Kusu quirked a brow as the blue cub left, as if gloating that it was her own presence that drove away the other. Grinning to herself, the lioness turned sights back at the river just enough to see the ripples fade away. Pity, she would have loved chatting with such a regal and lethal creature as the crocodile. Heavy tail swept in the mud as she perked an ear and nearly laughed at the pale lioness' words. "Haha, oh what a sense of humor you have! But I always fancy males having a hard time carrying their own weight. Who am I to want to take on that burden too?" Shrugging casually as she stepped near, she couldn't help but give an 'oh' as all the younglings seemed to have quietly fled away. "Best hurry! Who knows what other trouble those babes could get into."

Though she herself showed no rush for action.

Honey Gee
When the black and blue cub left, Jahi he was relieved. The farther that helplessly stupid thing was from him, and from the water, the safer he'd be.

"I'll be surprised if he lasts that long," Jahi drawled distastefully, all the while making a mental note to never return to this particular part of the river. If there was one crocodile here, there was possibly more and quite probably they would have their eye-sight.

"Mated? To her?" He gaped in distaste at Tayhira's boldness. Kusu was very pretty, but Jahi's experience with women was painfully lacking, and his cheeks felt warm at the suggestion. A prude in every sense of the word, Jahi cleared his throat and, ignoring his blush, opened his mouth to change the subject, but was waylaid by something in the lioness's tone.

"I'll have you know I can carry my own weight perfectly!" he declared, defensive, and then looked her up and down, "But, I wouldn't want to carry yours too."

((he's such a baby))

Kaelyndra
Tayhira grinned at the disruption that she'd caused. The chaos was something she loved, but she made sure to hide her joy when Jahi had pointed his frustrations towards the other female. She couldn't have them blaming her now could she?

Lions, she thought inwardly, could not carry their own weight at all which was why she'd just rescued one and a half from a lion-eating crocodile. She supposed Jahi deserved some credit, but that wasn't pulling all of his own weight, now was it?

"It's really very simple," Tayhira told them, enjoying the obvious offense both lions seemed to take at the idea. "You both carry your own weight, problem solved."

Relationships. Really that hard? Tayhira thought the answer was yes, considering that nice young male had just up and vanished one fine morning.

"Well, since we're talking, I want names. I'm Tayhira." She moved up the bank and settled a distance from the river, glad to be out of theoretical crocodile range.

"I'm sorry, did you hear something?" Kusu flicked her tail as she pointedly ignored the lion's words. Even so, it did nothing to hide the twitch in her scarred brow at the lame but effective jibes. Pfffft, was she being called fat? Hardly, being fat meant one was healthy in these lands! "Hmhaha, I'm sure." Turning attention to the more slender of the group, Kusu tilted her head as she spoke of her observations. "My my, you move quite well for one with a lame limb. My applause to your survival skills, even if they were poorly wasted this afternoon." Nodding as the other gave her name, the blue lioness thought it fair to give her own.

"The name's Kusu."

Jahi wasn't about being fair, or about giving names, or about letting people ignore him. He wrinkled his nose at Kusu and wracked his brains for something clever to say. When he came up short, Jahi pouted sourly and pointedly ignored the other lion.

Instead of degrading her with some kind of witty barb, he turned to Tayhira, shifting his whole posture away from Kusu and effectively shut her out of his conversation. He smiled conversationally at the leopard and made an exaggerated show of being friendly to her.

"Why, it is lovely to meet you, Tayhira. I'm Jahi."

((lovely yeenur, chobi <33))

Kaelyndra
Since it was easier, she settled her weight onto her haunches and watched the two of them, blowing her messed up hair idly from her eyes.

The corners of her mouth twitched as she received praise for her survival skills. It was something she never tired of hearing. So far in life, yes, she'd made it. Whether that would hold true for much longer was something to be determined, and the road had not been easy, but it had not yet defeated her.

The smile faded for a moment when the other lioness was just as quick to degrade. "On the contrary, it was useful in some way. I got to meet," she trailed off, pondering the words, "two adult lions." It was a poor save, for she secretly did agree that it had been entirely wasted sport. How did three cub-haters get stuck with three cubs all on the same riverbank. A better question still, how had the three cubs survived?

"It is nice to meet the both of you. Jahi, Kusu." She bobbed her head to each one, some sign of respect, but from Tayhira, nothing was ever truly respectful at all.

"And I'm quite afraid that I'm going to have to leave you two now. I have to start early if I'm going to catch anything with these legs." She gave them both a wink and rose back to her feet, flicking her tail and heading up the steep slope, taking a hop now and then to pull the useless leg over an obstruction.

She'd keep those names in mind; she might need them. Names were ultimately forever useful. Use the right one in the right situation, and you didn't get eaten if you stumbled into the wrong territory.

silent artist
Kusu blinked to the other female's contradiction...only to grin later though. They both knew it had been a waste of time. Hell, she wouldn't even be surprise if the lion knew as well. To save rogue cubs when they could be increasing their own survival habits? What a group of fools, or just bored predators.

"Do you really now? Well it makes all the sense to keep track of daylight. I wish you well then on your traveling." Like Tayhira herself, Kusu hardly ever held her words with value. They were all just another encounter on another energy burning day. Nodding farewell as the other femme took her leave, the blue lioness stretched with a yawn. That was before her nose crinkled though, as if a stinkbug just sprayed her, and she glanced at the remaining feline.

"Ugh, now what?"

((lol thanks kael and gee for the fun)) ^.^

Honey Gee
When he'd first watched her slink towards the river's edge, with that offensively useless limb dragging behind her, Jahi had watched Tayhira with open contempt and a superior attitude. Now, however, as he watched her leave after what they had shared on the riverbank that day; the blue lion couldn't help but be struck by her obvious strength, which was hardly all physical, and immediately second-guessed himself. His legs were lean and powerful and he was massive in stature, but that, he realized, wasn't everything. Feeling insecure, he attempted to make up for it by exuding hostility and confidence.

When Kusu spoke, he wrinkled his nose at her.

"I'm sorry, did you hear something?" Clearly immature, and an obstinate grudge holder, he mocked her phrase from earlier with an unwelcoming snarl.

((omg. i love him.))

silent artist
((lmao))

"Ktch, why yes I did. It sounded like the most beautiful chiming of a cherished heartbeat. But you wouldn't know anything of that, now would you?" The lioness stood finally, glancing between the river and the savannah. Seemed to be no more free entertainment here. Though at this point she'd rather explore the route of the water than go back into the seering desert lands. Even now it made her his, remembering the incident there that scarred her left brow.

"Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. But like the company of all cubs and males, I can hardly stay and test my patience any longer, Mr.......? Oh what was your name again?"

Honey Gee
The most beautiful chiming of a cherished heartbeat? Jahi's snarl transformed from a nasty grimace into an uncertain smirk. He certainly didn't know anything about that, and the pretty (yet, admittedly very strange) words she'd used confused him, but he wasn't about to let her know that.

"I know exactly what you're talking about, actually," he lied, and it showed in the cheezy way that he grinned at her, "and I've already told you my name, and I can't be bothered to tell you again. Unless you care to venture a guess."

He still hadn't forgiven her for being so rude, and it bothered him that he hadn't been able to get under her skin the same way she'd gotten under his.

Huh, were her empty words actually working? Having an effect on the others reactions? How amusing! Keeping up with such wishy washy words, the lioness shrugged to the male's reply. "Pft, at least one of us does." Ears pivoted back and forth to his stubborn refusal, and she could only snirk in reply. "Alright then, I'll guess.....Jaaah...mbo? Or Yawhnie? I know it had that ring to it. Oh well, not my loss." Besides, the day was young as she getting hungry. Pattering back towards the sparse trees that hugged the river, Kusu glanced back over her shoulder. "Yo, and the next time you decide to pester a gator, let me know. It sounds too fun to miss out on."
