A woman around 30-years-old with her hair up walked through the east gate of Barton with her coat pulled tight. The winter snow had melted, leaving just a breeze of chill reminding the inhabitants of gaia that it was not yet spring. To her side walked a young toddler, her body bundled up with a puffy coat and warm pants, along with a scarf and a hat. Their hands, both covered in gloves, were holding tight to each other, and the young girl's ears
"Mommy...are we going to the playground?" the girl asked out, her bright red eyes glowing as they searched around the area. While she was not used to the human children of the town, Saar slowly was coming out of her shell and working on her words, speaking louder and more confidently. Saige noticed the change with a smile, and nodded to the young child.
After a few more moments of walking, they seemed to overcome a hill to see a large play structure made of wood and slides, along with swings and many other features. Children were playing on it already, but there was enough room that a child could have fun on their own if they so chose to.
"Here we are, Saar...a playground!"

Albin lay on his in a large damp sandbox, the dark skinned boy moved his arms, legs, and wings slowly making a sand angel since the snow was gone. He could see and hear other children playing around him but Albin was content for the moment to do his own thing, occasionally blowing a dark grey smoke ring or two into the air for his own amusement. Tal sat on nearby bench occupied with a book, though from time to time the white haired seraph would look over to make sure his son hadn't wandered off.

The toddler let out a giggle and perked her ears from her hat, her eyes wide and taking it all in. There were colors and laughter and children running around, most of them slightly older than the mixed child. However, as she looked through, she caught sight of a strange contraption, and expressed her awe as a child slid down the metal item.
So, Saar ran and stumbled down the hill toward the slide, giggling all the way and not noticing the looks of the human parents at her pale skin or horse ears. She didn't care at all, because right now she was a child searching for some fun, and that slide seemed fun enough.
Behind her, Saige walked at a relaxed pace, watching the child with a warm gaze as she realized where Saar was going.
"That's a slide, Saar, and you'll need to climb up the other side to get to the top. Let me help you"
When they got to the slide, Saige helped the girl to the top, and than climbed up to set the girl in the right position. Jumping down, the parent moved around and made it just in time to catch the giggling girl at the bottom, laughing as well.
"Again! Again!"

Albin could see the slide from where he lay and one child in particular on it caught the part pixie's attention. She was different than most of those there, more like the sorts of people he saw at home. Maybe he should offer to play with her?
The boy sat up slowly dusting snow off of himself and shaking it out of the rather long purple and green striped scarf he was wearing over his clothes. Albin was incredibly fond of that scarf and given the chance the toddler would wear nothing but it draped over him. Being out in public however meant real clothes were needed as well.
The scarlet eyed child watched the dark haired girl carefully as he made his way out of the sandbox and navigated his way past other playing children towards her. Still, Albin paused a few feet away, pale wings twitching as he watched the other child and her mother play. How to get the other's attention without bringing the grown up over?

Saar went down the slide once more, giggling again as Saige let her do pretty much everything this time, and she turned to run around toward the ladder again. However, she stopped a moment as she caught sight of Albin she stopped her steps. She was out of sight of Saige, so when the adult glanced around the slide, she saw what was happening and simply smiled.
Maybe this time, Saar could make a new friend on her own.
Saar took another step closer to the boy, her bright eyes looking over his wings, his skin, and his face. She knew he was different than the humans, though for some reason she felt a sense of kinship much like she did with Layla. Thinking back to that interaction, she remembered how it went and decided to try it again.
"Hi! My name is Saar!" She said with a small smile and wave of her hoofed fingertips.

Albin waved his small pudgy child's fingers in Saar's direction. " I'm Albin." He had been named by his older sister Zoe, a family tradition, and quite liked the word, perhaps becuase it was an easy name for a toddler to say.
The pink haired boy's wings flicked again ridding themselves of remaining grains of sand as he smiled at his maybe new friend. He nodded towards a currently abandoned merry go round, the large metal circle was too heavy for him to push alone for a ride and none of the other children thus far had wanted to get themselves dizzy on it enough to help Albin. " Want to try that?" he asked trying not to show just how much he'd like to play.
From the bench Tal watch the two kid's interaction curiously and he noted where Albin was looking. Non human or not he wasn't even sure two toddler could move that thing at any real speed, then again it probably couldn't hurt them to try. The angel flipped a page in his book and ignored the odd stare he got from more human parents, he needed to stop coming to places without wide ethnic or racial diversity.

"Albin!" She echoed with a grin, before her face turned serious at his suggestion. She looked into the direction of the large contraption, before looking back to her safety net which was her mother. However, Saige had already disappeared to a bench farther away, though still in sight of the child. At a loss, the Siren-mare simply tapped her hard fingers together before looking back to where Albin was.
"Yes..." she stated tentativly, before letting out a more excited "Yes!" And she moved over to stand by his side, noticing the heat which seemed to come off of him.
Looking him over at a closer range, she flashed him a fanged smile before putting a finger to her chest.
"I am Siren and Nightmare...what are you?"

"I'm a boy" he pointed out first just in case that wasn't obvious. The toddler's scarlet eyes gleamed and he grinned impishly "I'm nightmare too and Pixie." Dark skin, slender winged and the ability to blow smoke rings, he was quite impressive as far as he was concerned.

Saar tilted her head and perked her ears at the comment of his gender, and wondered if she was wrong in thinking he was different than a human. Maybe some humans came in different colors and appearances like she. But, when he continued with his description, she grinned with fanged teeth and clapped her fingertips together with glee.
"A Nightmare too!" She said with a giggle, walking closer to the merry-go-round and keeping her bright eyes on him. She tried to find out their matching traits, but had a bit of trouble. Maybe he was a different type of nightmare, or some unknown reason for it.
Her smile grew as she walked a bit ahead of him, before turning around and motioning for him to hurry up.

Albin too had noticed that they didn't look much alike but instead focused on the fact that they both had red eyes and red eyes were pretty cool. Once he caught up to Saar and they reached the merry go round he looked at his partner curiously. " How many times around before we jump?" How fast should they have been pulling and pushing the big metal ride before they hopped on and just spun.

Silence met his question as Saar looked at the contraption. She had no idea what to do or how to push it, and really had no idea what Albin meant by jumping. Looking to her legs, she made a movement and jumped in the air once quickly, before looking back toward the boy.
"We need to jump?" She asked with a confused tilt of her head, blinking a few times before moving her hands to the cold metal. Biting her lip, she tried to think of what to do next, before leaning more weight on the thing.

Albin shook his head and gestured towards the round metal plat form itself" You jump when it spins" he explained as he took a step forward and pushed the bar in front of himself to get more motion going for the merry go round. "You'll know when," she'd have to since they hadn't decided on how many turns and Albin was no good at telling people to jump while remembering to do it it himself. For the moment the part pixie boy was mostly just focused on digging his feet into the ground for traction and getting the ride working, though he was paying attention to Sarr so they were pushing at the same time and speed.

The girl watched his actions for a second, as Albin slowly moved the contraption around. Once he was about half-way around, she moved her hands to start pushing as well, digging her shoes in the ground and feeling the strain of her muscles in her arms.
It wasn't too bad of a job, but it was a new feeling and one she would need to get used to real quick.
As it started moving faster, she raised her bright eyes to look across toward the pixie, watching his actions and wondering if she should try to jump as soon as he does.
Either way, she would try and be ready.

With the help of Saar Albin got the merry go rounds speed to something the dark skinned toddler felt was right. It didn't move so fast he was tripping over his own feet to push it but not so slow it wouldn't count as a ride either. Carefully he let go of the metal push bar, took a half step forward then flung himself to the left and onto the large spinning metal disk. Albin slid a little but ignored the pain of the friction as he latched onto the center of the merry go round to hold onto so he didn't slide off. Only once he was secure did the scarlet eyed boy look to see if his friend and helper had made it aboard.

Looking to her feet a moment, Saar missed Albin's initial jump onto the merry go round. When she glanced up, her eyes caught his form sliding to the center, and she missed how he had jumped. Scrambling, she took a moment to think her actions through, before she jumped blindly onto the metal toy, still holding onto the bar she was pushing.
Her first foot made it, but her second foot quickly slipped off the edge. Thankfully, she had a safe grip, so she pushed herself forward and tumbled toward Albin and the middle. Arms quickly wrapped around the bar, and she let out a squeal followed by laughter.
Quickly, however, she realized the whole thing was spinning, and she closed her eyes and felt the wind in her hair.
