Leilani gave the waitress her order and sat back in her seat. Her eyes driffted off to the shoreline just present outside the tiki hut with a small shudder. She couldn't understand how something that had once given her such joy could now fill her stomach with fear.
Turning back to stare at her table, etched with drink rings and other various stains, she inhaled the scent at Hula bob's and tried to relax. It really was good to be home.

Theron walks in and looks around. Spotting Leilani, he walks slowly over to her table.
"Mind if I sit down?" he asks with a quiet smile. "I promise I'm not some creepy man in a trench coat trying to score your number."

Leilani gave her oldest friend a genuine smile. She was having a good day and was glad that she now had someone to share it with.
Mustering up her long forgotten humor, she attempted what had once come so easily to her when it came to this particular faun. Flirting.
"I won't it do you any good. My hut is sadly without a phone. But you may sit anyway." she told him, motioing for him to sit with a wave of her hand.
"Perhaps you could get my address instead. I do have one of those." She blurted, ending in a small giggle. Gods, she was horribly rusty at this flirting thing.

Theron sits, delighted to see her in such a good mood. "Oh, really? Maybe I can work toward that, then," he says. Yeah. They're flirting. He lives next-door to her. "Still, at least I'm not wearing a trench coat." He smiles wider.
"I thought I'd find you here," he says, abandoning the game for now. "I'm glad to see you out of your house."

Her smile faltered a bit as he mentioned her recent slump. "Yes, well, the moths were starting to nibble my skirt." she defended with a half hearted smile. "I don't want to focus on that right now. I want to go out and do something today, Theron. Will you help me?" she asked, tapping her hands against the table in enthusiasm.

"I will help you go anywhere you want to go," he agrees. He orders hot tea and a sandwich as the server comes by again. "So where do you want to go? What do you want to do?"

The oddly happy pae smiled again. "I knew I could count on you Theron."
Accepting her slice of pie and water from the waitress, she leaned foward and gave Theron a conspiring look. "I wanna do something reckless. Explore something. Explode something. I don't know. I just wanna do...something." she explained, cramming a large bite of pie into her mouth when she finished speaking.

Theron laughs gently. "Something reckless, eh?" he asks. He scratches his chin and takes a sip of his coffee. "Well, you'll have to instigate it then, my dear. We both know I'm no good at being bad."

The hula angel smiled. "Now Theron, I never said anything about being bad. Just reckless. There is a difference. I think..." she scolded him playfully.

"You might still have to teach me to do that," he says, smiling. "Well, we'll finish our food and go somewhere then. You lead, I'll follow you wherever."

She laughed a second before cramming another slice of pie in her mouth. "Deal." she agreed, poking her sun deprived hand out for a shake.

Theron puts his hand into hers and gives it a soft shake. His skin is soft and warm like beach sand at summertime. He smiles at her, eyes sparkling, and takes another sip of his coffee.

Leilani blushed a bit at the mix of feelings that sprang up when he touched her hand. The touch was familiar and uncomfortable at the same time. Warmth and shivers both corssed her mind as she pulled her hand back and gave the young faun a returning smile though it wasn't as bright as her previous ones.
She refused to elt her issues ruin her day though. So, she crammed the last bit of pie in her mouth, laid some change on the table and jumped up. "Freathy?" she asked, her words somewhat muffled by cream filling.

Theron drains the rest of his cup of coffee and nods. "Let's go." He pays the bill and heads for the door, holding it open for Leilani. He'd never really stopped courting her, now that he thought about it. He'd just...gotten more sneaky about it. More subtle. Holding the door, paying for things, making her dinner, making her smile.
He just wished that smile was really for him.

And Leilani wished she give him what he really wanted. But she wasn't ready just yet for the feelings he wanted from her. Though she knew he was trying. I mean, how many times could he make her dinner before she got a clue. She had put back on almost all of the weight she lost during her ordeal and it was all becuase of him.
So she gave him what she could - days like this. Days when she was in a good mood and feeling like she used to. Days like this, when the touch of another pae didn't make her skin crawl.
Sliding past him into the warm summer air, she giggled a bit. "You know, I just remebbered something. We used to do this stuff all the time, didn't we. Go out to eat. Wander around the island. It's weird how much stuff I forgot while I was gone." she explained.
