Another reason to boycott plastics besides the non-biodegradable waste they produce is the toxins. You have no idea how many plastics are actually toxic yet the FDA still allows you to eat and drink outta them. Pregnant women and people with babies need to learn the harm caused by BPA, phthalates, DEHP and DINP, V (Vinyl) or PVC (Recycling number 3), Polycarbonate is Recycling number 7, and others like perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a suspected carcinogen used in the making of Teflon.
So use paper instead of plastic bags and glass containers instead of plastic. Avoid plastic utensils and dishes and plastic wrap. Find safe toys, use cloth diapers instead of plastic, cloth shower curtains and wooden cooking utensils etc. And go online and buy safe plastic water bottles and baby bottles or sippy cups. Also be aware of cosmetics, especially nail polish.

Your effortless, intricate studies and research seriously points you in the direction of no less than a genius with my full resepct. I'm so glad you're bothering to pay attention to the little things that are causing a big difference. People I ask about these things haven't even a clue, it's so unsettling to see our lives descending into ignorance.

aw thanks lol. Yes, it's really disheartening how ignorant the public is about the many soft-kills in our everyday life. This information is not taught, and you wont find it without looking for it yourself. I remember when I was a sheep and how I knew McDonald's french fries cause cancer, yet I ate them anyways. Now that I know so much more I realize there's no more reason for me to believe "everyone that gets old, gets crippled/cancer/diseases, it's common and will happen to me too". Wrong. If we exercise daily, eat healthy, and stay away from toxins, we can live to be 110 with strong bodies and minds. That is a goal I strive for, while my fiance still hasn't got out of the mind-set that he only plans to live to 60 and will drink all the soda he wants and eat anything that tastes good, no matter how unhealthy I explain it is. 60 years? That half the age humans are capable of living to!

Exactly; a look at the WW veterans living in the UK alone will show you that modern ways are crippling. They followed tradition and the old ways of "A good life comes from work and effort", and they survived vicious wars and are still alive today. (Without toxic plastics I assume ^ ^)

The sad part of all of this is that I remember actually seeing things about the potential dangers of BPA in the news, but still no one seems to worry about it.

Obscurus The sad part of all of this is that I remember actually seeing things about the potential dangers of BPA in the news, but still no one seems to worry about it. mhmm.. just like how they reported that it's proven hot dogs cause cancer, and the news reported responded with "I'll have 2 please".

TrutherMay Obscurus The sad part of all of this is that I remember actually seeing things about the potential dangers of BPA in the news, but still no one seems to worry about it. mhmm.. just like how they reported that it's proven hot dogs cause cancer, and the news reported responded with "I'll have 2 please". The thing is that lots of stuff can cause cancer. Sometimes cancer happens for no reason at all. I don't happen to be a fan of hot dogs, but some people are. Alcohol can cause cancer, but I do enjoy it from time to time. I know the risks. The thing about plastics with BPA in them is that they are used in things like baby bottles and baby's don't have a say in the matter. It's a completely different situation for an adult like myself that knows the dangers to willingly drink or eat from a plastic container than it is for someone that basically has no control over their life to be fed from one. That's really my only opposition to these kinds of things that can be bad in X amount, or may cause this or that but also may not. In the case of BPA plastics, there are alternatives. In some other instances there are not.
