Chobi:
A slim shape up ahead had appeared at the top of a hill. Strange, it hadn't been there before. Chumani stared at it for a moment wondering what on earth it was. No time to think though, the puppy was yipping and wagging his tail charging the dark shaped object. It could be a major threat you never knew. So blindly the puppy guard charged.
"YOUR LIFE IS MINE!" He howled launching him self into the air, jaws opened , ready for the first bite of battle. His jaws snapped, the twig broke, and the puppy continued to attack one of the halves left from the assault. "No outsider on my watch gets away with being so shady!" He growled.
nessiaing:
Peca was slowly making her way around the lands, she was still getting use to her new home. She was very happy, she was in love and she had a job that made her feel important. She just needed to get through and find out who everyone else was, put names to faces, and what not. If she wanted to be a good member of the coucil then she needed to know who she was speaking on the behave of.
As she made her way around she noticed one pup a top a hill, attacking what appeared from the distance to be a tree. She laughed, oh to be a pup, everything was an adventure, and you could explore everything. She made her way towards the pup, a smile spread across her maw.
Chobi:
The pup growled and snarled and attacked the bits of stick. He'd broken it up so bad there were almost only wood chips left now. Foot steps made him stop though, Chumani turned his head to see a figure making its way toward him. He blinked and barked at it. Was this member pack? Chumani barked again in a more questioning tone.
"Who are you?" He barked at the shape. He saw this shape had a mane and was built much different then his wild dog counterparts. Chumani took a few steps back, he'd heard about hyenas and that they were part of the pack but he had yet to meet any. Was this a hyena here? Chumani stood his ground, tail between his legs, but still he stood firm.
nessiaing:
Peca had made it to the little pup and took a seated postion, "Hi there, I am Peca." she told the little pup when he asked her name. She could see a little confusion on his face and wondered perhaps if he didn't know that she was in the pack she was a fairly new member and perhaps he felt threatened. "I am a member of the pack here, I am on the council." she told him with a smile, hoping that it would ease the little ones nerves.
"What is your name young man?" she asked, she had settled quiet nicely and was makint a small humming like sound, similar to a cats pur. She was attempting to appear none threatening, she was a kind motherly type and that was often how she interacted with others, particularly pups.
Chobi:
The pup relaxed when he heard she was pack. "So you are pack aren't ya? Hyena?" He tilted his head taking a few steps closer to the female.
"My names Chumani. I guard these lands, " He informed her with a nod, "I am going to at least one day soon," He wagged his tail and sniffed at the female. She smelt safe.
nessiaing:
"Yes I am a hyena, one of only two here in the pack I believe. I am the mate of Xx'a." she told the young pup smiling fondly at the thought of her mate. She had only just begun the courting process with Xx'a but she knew already that it was love. "Hopefully one day we will have more hyenas here in the land, perhaps young ones that you could play with." she said her smile widening at the thought of her own little pups roaming around.
"Hm so it is you I have to thank for the safety of our home." she said teasing the little pup in a light hearted way. "You are doing a very good job Chumani. It must be just a big job for a young one such as yourself. I was wondering do you think you could show me a few things?" Peca asked the little pup, she was a firm beleiver in having the young develop there talents, figure out who they were and she wanted to help.
Chobi:
Chumani had started to scratch his ear with his back paw. He was listening some what, but his attention span was split. It wasn't until the female started talking about what a good job he was doing and asked if she could have his help did he stop.
"Yes , I can do that!" He wagged his tail, "But you have to stay very close. I'm not responsible if you stray far away," He gave her a nod.
nessiaing:
Peca couldn't help but let a small chuckle make it out of her mouth as she rose to her feet preparing to follow the small pup wever it was he was going to lead her. "I am very greatful for your help."
She followed the young one everywhere wondering what it was that he was going to show her. It was amazing seeing such a firey attitude and sense of duty in such a young pup, when she had been that age all she had wanted to do was play play play, then again she hadn't been in a pack that instilled any sort of duty in her.
Chobi:
The pup wagged his tail as he lead her around the pack lands explaining what was what. Chumani was sure to include a story with each place they stopped that may or may not have been true. He boasted about this and that too as he went being a typical boy.
They ended their tour right back where they started, "And thats our pack," He explained shaking his head. He was tired now, though it didn't show on his face. A good guard never let his tiredness be known.
"Do you have any questions?" He puffed his chest out.
nessiaing:
Peca had followed him through the whole pack, stopping and listening to his stories even when she already knew a lot about the area. She didn't question his stories even if she was fairly sure what he was saying was made up, it was his time to shine a little story here and there never hurt anyone.
"Hrm questions." she mummbled, thinking that she should come up with something to make him feel in charge but there really wasn't anything she could think of that she could ask with out making it obcvious she was making him feel speacial. Instead she settled for, "No I think you covered it all, but if I had a question could I come find you and ask you?" she hoped this was good enough.
Chobi:
The pups chest puffed out more, "Well, can I take you home then? You probably need an escort with it being this late. " The sun had already started to dip down behind the horizon and the noisy insects had started a chirpen.
nessiaing:
"That would be greatly appreciated Chumani." she said honestly as she nodded, company was never a bad thing, and she knew that the pack was safe enough that the pup would be able to make it home safelyon his own. She felt quite good that she had been able to help the young pup feel important and stregnthen her skills it had been a productive day for the hyena, she thought as she walked beside the pup on her way home. Giving him a quick nod before she slipped into her den for the night.
Chobi:
Peca really did make the pup feel quite important. He marched right infront of her like he really was some big guard. Sure one day he would be looking after this pride, but right now he was just a tad short for the job.
Chumani never paid no mind to those details though. He was a happy little fella who knew one day his dreams would come true.
