Tail dragged heavily as it was tugged along the white landscape, the orange color like a flow of lava in the snow. Too bad such warmth wouldn't be found this season. Sighing with a crisp curl of air escaping his nostrils, the pale soquili glanced over his shoulders. With every freaking snow patch that fell from trees to slush on the ground, Manjii found himself more and more on edge. But why should he? Goodness knows he was large enough to take care of himself. But size hardly mattered in this world when other soquili had fangs and wings to battle with.
Scanning the ground only to find nothing, the male continued on his sluggish way. With the area so quiet and cold, it almost felt like a paradise. Or a very lonely death. Speaking of such....the stallion glanced down at his hooves. The snow was already halfway up his legs and cutting down his body heat. Best to find higher grounds.....

The season had snuck up almost without her notice. Just when had the snow piled up so well? The surface of the water she had been staring at seemed to freeze in front of her (although the edges had truly been frosty long before her arrival). For a moment she tapped her hoof on the solid surface. As far as she could reach, it didn't budge an inch.
For once, she turned her back on the water, trotting through the thick snow. There was a surprising ease to her step. The slush was not so different from sand and she took walks on the beach many times a week.
Tossing her head, she actually picked up the pace in a playful way for a moment. Dancing around like a filly was not her normal game, however, and she slowed to a gentle step as the land inclined past the treeline.

Ears perked as the male continued his trot, trying to pinpoint sounds that weren't his own. Though he was finding it difficult passed his own slushy foot falls. But to actually see the changes in his surroundings, well....that was alot easier. Especially when it involved a bright display of purples cutting across the vast expanse of snow.
But there seemed no urgency to the other soquili's movements, and so Manjii continued on his own pace without faltering. Just two normal individuals traveling across the lands, trying to find warmth most likely. And the stallion figured the best source of warmth this season would be to rejoin his family. A herd of body heat would do far better than his skin on his own. Perhaps the purple mare was doing the same?

The mare made it to the top of a fairly dainty hill, which proved tall enough to afford her a gaze over a thicket of small saplings. There wasn't much to see in the distance, just more white powder. Lost in a momentary cloud, she couldn't help but think how pleasant it would be if all the snow melted in an instant, leaving her with a world-wide bathing pool. As one so loving of water, she couldn't imagine that such a happening would be an ill omen for some.
Shaking from her reverie, she began her trek again, only loosing sight of her 'not-quite-a-real-destination' in the distance when something caused her ears to swivel back. Slowing, but not halting, she craned her neck around, catching sight of something new, as well. Something a good distance behind and to the left.
He certainly couldn't hide against white anymore than she. However, it seemed some subtle differences in their character had her subconsciously slowing down even further now. Swinging her head back to the front, she continued with a declining pace until it looked as if she might be struggling to move against the wet landscape (even if that wasn't quite the case).
