Her chest swelling with pride at what all three of her cubs grew into, Haly's eyes sparkled as she looked over her youngest daughter Sehkmet. Today she was spending some one on one time with Sehkmet, while Khensu and Kehpri had been charged with a task to better 'strengthen' themselves - and by that, Haly meant for them to hopefully form a closer bond between each other. She loved her mate deeply, but she could tell that her one daughter would take after him, and while she told herself it was alright, deep down she still had that wish that all three of her children might someday help restore the once regal linage of the Egyptian lions.
Casting the thoughts out of her mind, she focused her attention once more upon Sehkmet. "My daughter, are you ready for today's duties? The gods await their offerings and we must not keep them waiting."

 Sekhmet stood proudly in front of her mother fully grown and the spitting image. It was a great pride to look like her mother in Sekhmet's eyes. She had done every duty her mother had instructed with a great pride, she was the daughter of a pharaohess and the children of gods She would help her mother restore her pride of strong Egyptian lions by Horus's eye she would. There was a long moment of silence as her mother thought.
Haly spoke. Sekhmet responded. "Yes mother I am, and you are right we mustn't let the gods wait." That was common knowledge. Every day the gods had to be pleased lest not to displease them and cause some unfathomable catastrophe. Sekhmet waited for her mother's instruction. she would finally e allowed to perform a greater ritual with her mother. Sekhmet was more excited than she had been in a long time. But she was sure to keep up her appearance. Such childish notions and actions were embarrassing and she was above them.

Halyseta's chest swelled with pride more, and she did her best to keep her calm as she began leading her daughter towards the temple where they worshiped. She had been doing this all her life, though for some reason today, she wanted to just burst with happiness and proclaim her emotions loudly to the gods. That would have to wait however.
Stopping inside, she dipped her paws in a small bowl of holy water, just so that she would not trek dirt on the glittering gold surfaces. She then grabbed a jug of wine perfectly aged and motioned with her head for Sehkmet to grab he bowl of fruits, grains, and meat to drag it over to the alter where they would sit in mediation for a few moments.

Sekhmet followed behind her mother patiently waiting for her turn. She stepped toward the alter dipping her own paws in the holy water before picking the bowl of meat and fruit up and taking her place behind her mother in step before placing the bowl on the alter but only after her mother had done the same first.
Sekhmet then took a step back with her head bowed before beginning meditation.

Haly watched as her daughter completed her task perfectly, though in her mind she knew she would have. All of her cubs would have. Closing her eyes, she bowed her head and let herself slip into a deep trance, praising the gods and praying to them to accept this offering and bless her mate, her cubs, and herself.
(mini time skip)
After a few hours of meditation, Haly opened her eyed, feeling refreshed and anew. She glanced over at her daughter and awaited for her to awaken as well. The first task of the day was over, and she would need to return to Kehpri and Khensu to see how they were getting along.

Sekhmet's eyes slowly opened shortly after her mothers as she pulled from her own trance like state. The ritual was over, for now, but Sekhmet was silently excited to do the next at noon for the sun god Ra. Sekhmet looked to her mother nodding slowly. She knew her mother had to go check on her brother and sister that much was apparent. She would continue to pray once her mother had left.

Haly smiled, nuzzling her daughter on the cheek. "I will return before the next ritual. In the mean time, I would wish for you to say and commune more." she said before turning to leave.Waiting in the shadows, the once grand pharaoh Neffetzen, now restored to a lesser body, watched silently in the shadows. His eyes were upon Haly, and always had been, but between his death and his resurrection, she had fallen for another. Now, though with same motives in mind, his eyes lay upon a different someone. Sekhmet, Halyseta's youngest daughter. Spitting image of Haly, and equally interested in the ways of the Egyptians.
As Haly left, he waited for a moment, still lingering in the shadows for Haly to leave before he gingerly stepped inside, careful not to drag his bandages or trek dirt in a sacred place.

Sekhmet accepted her mother's nuzzle happily before offering a slight nod. Of course she would stay here and continue to commune with the gods. Her mother didn't even have to ask. "Of course Mother." Sekhmet replied coolly before offering her mother a parting bow.
Sekhmet turned facing the great alter before closing her eyes once more to begin prayers once more. Sekhmet listened to her mothers quiet paw pads as she left. Sekhmet focused her attention back on the gods ignoring everything else.

Stepping forward behind Sekhmet, Neffetzen dipped his heads to the alter, stopping in silence as he stood and paid his respects to the gods as well. After all, they had granted him a second chance at life, and so his thanks could never be fully shown.
After a few moments he blinked open his eyes, staring at the lioness before him silently with his one good eye. A grin spread over his muzzle as he opened his wings and dipped his head in an elaborate and rather noisy bow. "Sekhmet, daughter to the beautiful Halyseta, my how you have grown." he said, his voice smooth and gentle despite being a mummy.

Sekhmet heard the other approach behind her, her paw pads were un recognizable, it certainly wasn't anyone from her family. But she had heard them before... she realized quickly. Sekhmet allowed her ears to flick backward as he spoke, she still retained her position toward the alter.
Mother said she should respect the dead, but he was no longer dead in a sense, and Mother didn't seem to care for him at all. Sekhmet found that curious.
"I thank you though my Mother has left." she pointed out her eyes still closed. He always appeared when she was around. He was always watching his mother. It was rather strange for her to see another male besides her father watching Haly. "Is there anything else?" she asked curtly "if not I must continue to commune with the gods..." she didn't finish the sentence.

Nefettzen let out a slight chuckle. "Why yes, I do realize your beautiful mother has left, but It is not here I am here to see...." he said trailing off as she not once turned to face him. Stepping forward, careful not to tug his bandages off, he positioned himself so he could see her front half. "Aaah even more pleasing from the front." he grinned, and though it sounded quite unappropriated, he certainly didn't mean it that way.....or did he?

"Such talk is not fit for the gods temple. "Sekhmet growled slightly as he finished. He eyes opened, she could suddenly understand why her mother held him in complete distaste. Sekhmet stood, she'd get no more prayer done with him here. She wanted to continue...

Nefettzen let out a throaty chuckle that made him sound his age... his true age. Not the age that his voice alone would suggest he was. "Forgive me... I did not mean that the way in which it sounded. Next time, I shall chose my words wisely." he said as he bowed his maneless head to hers only slightly. His every actions were still regal and mighty as if he was still the pharaoh that he had once been.

Suuuureee he didn't the sarcastic comment rolled across her mind. At least he was polite afterward. "See that you do." she spoke in her own regal tone, after all she was Haly's daughter and should act accordingly..
"Now please, if you will allow me to continue communing with the gods."

Nefettzen let out a soft chuckle. "Of course. Forgive my interruption." he said with a soft smile, a dip of his head, and sat down watching her - intent upon waiting until she was finished communing to resume his conversation with her.
