Awhile ago, I heard my friend tell me he was a Satanist.
Knowing what a Satanist is, I was cool with it and all.
" What branch? "
He told me just the one that believed in Satan.
" So...You mean you ONLY believe in Satan? "
" Friend: Yes "
" First off, why? "
" Friend: Two reasons...
1. My girlfriend wouldn't shut up about God creating everything and I got tired of it so I dumped her and became a Satanist.
2. I heard this cool Death Metal song. "
" Well, you do know that in the Bible, God kinda created Satan, right? "
" Friend: He did? I wouldn't know because I never read it. "
" ok...well...to number 2, why did this song convert you? "
" Friend: Well the song sounded cool and it preached Satan. So I followed."
" ...... "

I'm not even going to bore you with what I think, tell me what you think about this.

Are you sure he's not joking? That seems pretty unbelievable, to convert just because your girlfriend was preaching and a song sounded super awesome.

As a former Satanist, I can safely (and painfully) say this guy was not faking.
We got guys like this all the time, only wanting to become Satanist to rebel against their family or friends to shut them up.
As a matter of fact, that's mostly what Satanists are: pissed off teenagers huddled together to stay pissed off.
A lot of them don't care about the mythology of it all, they just want to rage.
I'm betting he never even read Anton Lavey's thick instruction book.

I'm not all that surprised.
Any religion / idea that's considered 'off the main - stream' or 'cool' gets that kind of stupid assholes.
Some of them turn to Atheism as well. :/
