 The large bulky form of a purple and black male made his way slowly through the forest, just wandering aimlessly. Kagiso often found himself needing a good walk in the evening and night time hours, the need to roam strong within his bones. He was loyal to his pride and king of course but sometimes a lion just needed time to himself to see others and meet new faces.
The moon was full and high within the skin, making it seem almost like daylight out, illuminating the path in front of him, though there was no real need for it. His vision was fine, he could see just as well as any other lion in the darkness, but the moonlight made it sort of look like a surreal fantasy land.
He was curious to see if any others ventured out at this time of the night. Most of his kind were nocturnal to an extent, but not all liked to venture alone when so many things could be lurking in the darkness.

 It had been slow day for Yorath, not to many visitors on his little part of the world. The forest was quiet for once, seemed like all good little creatures were nestled down for the night. Then again it had been a quiet day also which was weird but enjoyable. The monkey's could really get on your nerves with all their screaming and caring on.
Yorath lay on a warm rocked, heated from the sun but slowly cooling from the night temperatures, his pale fur gleaming in the moon's light. He almost looked like a spirit not real of this earth, his mane and tail blended with the night.
With a flick of his tail Yorath decided to find a safe spot to bed down for the night. His internal pondering was interrupted his sixth sense. 'Someone is here.' He let out a deep questioning growl to either warn the predator off and to see what he was dealing with.

A soft warning growl alerted the soft black ears of another's presence and Kagiso paused mid step. He lifted his nose to the air, letting he jaw fall open to test the air, picking up the scent of all those around him. A few small pray creatures here and there, but one scent in particular caught his interest.
He'd passed without realizing into another males territory, and was obviously being warned of it. He narrowed his eyes and sought through the darkness until the outline of what looked to be a ghostly lion caught his attention. He tilted his head curiously and slowly approached the mail. " I mean ye no harm... I'm just passing through."
He hoped not to cause a scruff with the other, he was just curious to come across another of his kind. A good conversation would certainly cure his boredom for the night.

Yorath paused in his growling as an accented voice filled the air. Then along with the voice came a body in purple and black form, interesting patterns on his fur like his own. He watched as the other male came closer.
"Ah hello brother-lion." He gave a little nod of acknowledgement and moved alittle closer. " Welcome to my land, I have not seen you here before." Yorath did not sense an evilness to this lion which was good because he really did not feel like fightining this night. " I am called Yorath. Who are you? What brings you here?"

Kagiso watched the ghostly lion curiously as he finally stopped his approach, giving the other male a good distance of personal space. Now closer to the male he could detect strange markings on him quiet similar to his own. It was a curious thing, discovering another of ones own kind.
Obviously the male wasn't having any intentions to fight either so he relaxed a bit. He nodded his head in silent greeting, a habit he'd picked up around the others from the pride that had been forming around where he lived. "It is a beautiful land here..I can see why you would guard it so fiercely. " He looked around him, admiring the the lush vegetation and the many opportune hiding spots. "My name is Kagiso." He smiled a half lazy smile and tilted his large head. "I suppose the wind is what brought me here, since I have no real reason."

Yorath chuckled at Kagiso's answer, "The wind eh? Interesting response. Ah, so you were just walking along. Bored eh? I get like that sometimes when its to quiet and such " He notice the other male lion relaxing which caused him to do the same thing. " Nice to meet you Kagiso, yes I guard these lands for the future. I hope to one day have a family of my own. Raise my own cubs and for future generations." Saying that he smiled at the possibilities that could lay ahead.
" So do you have a family? Mate? Cubs? They waiting for you at home?"

Kagiso listened to the male and nodded lightly. This place would make a fine piece of land to raise a family. No wonder he guarded it. The mention of family made his thoughts drift since he himself had been thinking of starting a family. He was unsure if he'd ever find a female that would put up with his many quirks, but he wanted to at least father some cubs. Continue the blood line and all that. He tilted his head and gave the other male a lazy grin.
"Unfortunately no. No cubs or female to speak of. Not yet at least. Though a warm female to lay next to would be nice. Perhaps some day soon. "

Yorath laughed as he came closer to Kagiso, " A warm female indeed friend!" He nudged Kagiso and sat down next to him. He was completely comfortable with this other male, he had a good sense of humor. " Ah female troubles can not live with them, can not live without them." He looked out into the night, eyes looking here and there. He tried to think of something else to say but came up blank, it was late after all.

Kagiso nodded in agreement at the wise words and looked off into the distance of the night. It was so peaceful here it was hard to even consider going back. Yet there was a quiet, constant reminder in the back of his mind telling him he did have responsibilities. He was a member of a budding pride. A noble by their standards. He could not just decide to stay in the quiet forest forever. "Do you have a pride my brother?" He glanced over at him ideally.

Yorath looked over at Kagiso, "Ah sadly no. Not yet anyway, it seems mostly males pass this way." He chuckled. " Its a lonely life I lead right now, I hope to fill my territory with life and laughter. Well, it is interesting when the smaller creatures are about. Noisy bunch honestly." He wrinkled his nose at the thought. "Especially the monkey's noise beasts." He stood up to stretch his tired body. " I hate to leave this but I am quite tired, it is afterall the middle of the night." He laughed looking at Kagiso.
" Do you need a resting place for the night? I have plenty of room in my nook cave."

Kagiso gave him a toothy grin as he looked up to the trees. "Where I come from.. the noisy beats make good snacks." He chuckled and shook his purple mane out. In the moons light he also blended in well and only his bright purple markings could be seen. It made him quiet erriy looking.
At the mention of the time he got up and stretched some, finding himself also a bit worn. "I suppose I should be going back then for the night. There' s no need for a place to bed down, I did not travel fair." He nodded his head and smiled " Thanks for the company."

Kagiso nodded to the other male and turned to head back home. It would not be wise to linger and if he wanted any sleep at all that night then he'd best be getting a move on. He brought into a light trotting pace as he made his way back down the path he'd just come. It was always nice to meet some one new, especially when they were so welcoming to him as this male had been. Perhaps with a little luck who could meet others of his kind very soon. With the good thoughts in mind, he made his way back home to his pride.

Yorath a solemn nod he sat down and he watched as Kagiso made his way through the forest to where his friends pride lived. This was the hard part, making new friends only to see them leave but in a way it was good to have met them, then to have never have met them at all. Then when Kagiso was no more then a speck in the distances Yorath turned around and made his way back to his cave home.
