Depends on your taste.
When it comes to money, I prefer the PS3 because I don't have to pay to play online. With the Xbox 360 I pay for internet, Xbox Live, and on some games for the Xbox I have to pay to play them online. With the PS3 all you need is internet, wireless or wired. And again, Xbox has another downfall due to the fact that you have to buy a seperate hardware attachment to enable your Xbox to use wireless internet and that piece is overly expensive.
Most games are created for both consoles so you are not missing much. I love Resistance for the PS3 and Halo for the Xbox so it's kinda iffy.
When it comes to things you can do, Xbox is better. The PS3 is finally starting to copy some of the features that were previously exclusive to the Xbox such as chatting with friends who are playing different games, being able to watch movies and shows instantly with Netflix, and though I am not absolutely positive about this, I heard they were also going to enable you to listen to music while playing certain games offline.
Quality wise they are about the same. Some argue that games that are PS3 exclusive are better in picture quality however I've never noticed it.
I suppose if you look at all of the facts, the PS3 is cooler. But, since at the moment I only have a 360 and a N64, I'm gonna have to say Xbox. blaugh

Exactly which is why my husband and I bought it. We saw it in the game shop and both said "Ooh let's get that!" In fact my brother nails is playing Zelda as I type. I would be playing Hey You Pikachu however my old puppy chewed the cord for the microhpone.
