Darcy checked the notebook that she held with one hand, her finger tracing the text as she checked the pile she'd met. Well, it'd worked the last time she'd done it like this; hopefully Jaella would shut up now about it. The pile was SO complex; it held her DVD of Howl's Moving Castle, her set of the books, and a reddish orange crystal on the top. Yep, that about matched the sketch she had made in the notebook. Perfect. She made her way to the pile, kneeling down and lying her hand on top of it, focusing.
Aaron stood by the doorway, a blanket folded over his arm. It was a bit chilly in their house due to outdated insulation; couldn't allow the poor child to get cold. Though, whether or not they could call their future guest a child was up for debate. He sighed; he didn't see why they were doing this. Couldn't they just send the boy back instead of dragging yet another person from their home and bringing them to Gaia?

With Morgan safely tucked away from the night, Sophie Pendragon moved about the castle turning off candles with a frown. Where was Howl? It was usual for him to go off for a while, but to take Calcifer with him? Something didn't sit well with her.
She looked around to make sure all was well when she noticed a new color on the door dial. "When did that change?" Sophie walked over and looked at it, then grinned. Of course! Howl's just went off and forgotten to make a new doorway. Still, she was half tempted not to touch it. The whole thing felt wrong. Sophie reached for the door knob and twisted it, opening the doorway with a gasp before she disappeared.

Oh. Snap. That definitely wasn't a baby or a toddler. "Oh dear..." was all the orange-haired girl said, stepping back a bit from the blue-clad girl who seemed to have fallen out of nowhere. This was NOT what she had expected, though it was an interesting development. Most interesting, though it did complicate things.
Aaron's eyes widened; oh snap. He walked over, offering a hand to the silver haired girl. "Are you alright, miss?" he asked politely before shooting a look at his sister. Oh, she was so in for a lecture later; the only thing that saved her from having to endure it now was the fact that they had a guest. Of which he though should have been left at home, but his thoughts were seldom acknowledges when Darcy had her mind set.

"Ow. I'm too old for this," Sophie grumbled. She rubbed the fogginess out of her eyes. Oh no. That boy wasn't Howl. Cautiously she took his hand and stood up, brushing the dirt off her dress. "Where am I? And who are you?" These people were giants.

"Welcome to Gaia." Darcy said, smiling. "I'm Darcy. Darcy Azoulai. This is my brother, Aaron. You are Sophie, correct?" The girl looked WAY too amused, almost inappropriately so. She circled the girl once, then twice. Well, she seemed to have come through, fine. No abnormalities, no injuries. That was a good sign in her book.
"Um....miss, you aren't quite that old any more." Aaron said, putting it as tactfully as he could. "And as my sister said, you're on Gaia. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Sophie." he said, bowing politely like he would to an adult or a peer.

Sophie clasped her hands together infront of her nervously. "Yes, my name is Sophie. Are you a witch? Do you know where my husband is?" She concluded that either the pair had kidnapped him, thus her too, or that they knew where he was. She prayed for the latter.
"What do you mean...?" She looked at him and noticed his youth. Then looked down at herself with a shocked 'eep'. She was a kid again! But how..? Having been through the reverse situation before, she was unnaturally calm about it all. "Excuse me, Aaron, but is Gaia in the Wastes?"

Darcy chuckled. "No, dear, I'm not a witch. But I do know where Howl is." A witch? Wow, that was the first time she'd been called that....could she be considered one? The girl could ponder that later. "No need to be so nervous; we aren't going to hurt you. You're perfectly safe."
Aaron blinked a moment, then shook his head. "No, ma'am. Gaia is an entire planet of its own." he explained, offering an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, but you aren't in Ingary any more." A glare was momentarily shot at his sister; why did she have to meddle in that which she shouldn't? Augh, stubborn girls.

"You've got the powers of a witch." Sophie pointed out, but barreled on. "Please, tell me where he is. It's not me I'm concerned about, it's him." It was true! If he was safe, couldn't he have sent a message?
Stay calm, Sophie. You've got to stay calm. "Oh my. What about my family, are they safe?" She wondered if anyone else beside herself was in on Gaia. Then again, she was the only one who had walked through the doorway.

Darcy paused a moment; the girl had a point. "Well, Howl's with his adoptive father at the moment. I'm not sure where he lives exactly, though Jaella knows. She's friends with him." Of course, she didn't pay attention to the fact that Sophie didn't know who Jaella was; she'd find out soon anyways.
"I'm sure they are safe and secure, ma'am." Aaron offered, trying his best to sound reassuring. Poor Sophie...

Why did Howl have an adoptive father when he was a full grown man? She was so very confused and it seemed the more that Darcy talked the worse off she became. "Can she take me too him?"
Aaron, in her book the nicer of the two, was obviously the Witch's apprentice. She looked to him desperately. "Oh, you will, won't you?" She wouldn't rest until her whole family was safe and she'd seen it with her own two eyes.

Darcy smiled. "She can, but first, we better set you up with your host family." she said, sounding way too chipper, almost obscenely so. And she had just the family in mind, too. A small chuckle came from the girl; ah, that'd be a perfect match. "After all, you are a child now. And children cannot be left without a parental figure or two." Yeah, she was one to talk; no adults in sight.
Aaron looked from Sophie to his sister, then back to the girl. Moral dilemma! "You'll be reunited with Howl." he said slowly, thinking. "But, I believe it'd be better in the long run if we established your place of residence before hand." That made sense, right? He offered the silver-haired girl a small, sympathetic smile.

The child didn't like the way Darcy's voice sounded. Still....she did make a point. She couldn't very well take care of herself, now, could she? "Will they mind having me? I don't want to put anyone out."
When Aaron put it out there plainly she nodded, seeing the reason in it. "So long as I get to see Howl again." She made it loud and clear before straightening her spine. "The faster we get this over with the sooner I'll see him. So lets go!"

"Of course they won't mind." Darcy said reassuringly, even though she didn't really know the answer. She hoped they wouldn't mind, anyways. She walked over to a desk, opening a notebook as she started to write a quick note. "Jaella will escort you to your new home." she said with a nod as she write, focused on the text infront of her.
Aaron nodded, the headed towards the door, opening it. "Jaella!" he called out before quickly stepping out of the doorway. Too many a time had he been knocked over by the running girl. Better safe than sorry, no?
The girl could be heard before she came skidding to a stop at the door. "You called?" she asked, smiling. She blinked, looking at the new kid. Who was that? She didn't get a chance to answer as the letter was shoved into her hands.
"Take her to Mr. De Launey and give him this letter." Darcy said simply before looking to Sophie, motioning her forwards. "If you have any further questions, you can ask Jaella along the way."

Sophie took a deep breath to calm herself and moved forward only to halt when another teenager came into the room. "My word! You have a tail!" She reached forward hesitantly, excitement plain on her face as she touched it then vaguely registered that there was a transaction taking place.
"Mr. De Launey?" She questioned, moving closer to Jaella with her eyebrows up. Oh, she had plenty of questions and all of them would have answers no doubt by the time she got there. Too bad she couldn't keep her mouth shut and let things be. " What are the De Launey's like?"

Jaella giggled as her tail was touched, the appendage wagging a bit. "Hey, that tickles!" she said, her voice laced laughter. "Hi theres! I'm Jaella and yep, that's my tail! What's your name?" she inquired, tilting her her head to the side like a small child might.
"Well, according to Mom, the De Launey's are nice, respectable people." Jaella said, smiling. "They had babies, but I haven't had a chance to visit the little ones yet; been too busy. But if Mom says they're nice, they really must be." Jaella said, nodding once. "I'm sure you'll do absolutely spectastical there!" This was accentuated by a clap of her hands.
