Nyoka was laid out in the sun on top of one of the forest's big big.. and mighty rocks. Quiet. She was asleep for the time being. Not really thinking about the wonders of the forest as a sight to see. She was in a field or trees, bushes, flowers and magnificence.. But She. Was asleep. Uninterested in the sight and would have rather slept through it all until she found some male to ******** with. Her blue tail drifting from one side to another.. Never even half awake to know of predators..
Masozi was wandering aimlessly, he didn't know what brought him to this place, he didn't care a wit for flowers or views of the landscape. He cared about filling his belly at his next meal and moving forward from one day to the next, he didn't need more than that. His pink eyes scanned the bushes for any movement, and his nose twitched for any scent as me moved along, head low, messy hair hanging in his face.
Nyoka was dead to the world until her tail flickered in a way which only the wind could have taken it. It was odd and made the very sleepy... moggy psychopath's eye lift. "Mmm." She questioned.. and looked around in a mug shot fashion to see a blur of something.. Her size. She was just about average but this one was.. or could be a predator.
She on that- took the upper part of that. "You~ Can't you see Im sleeping~" She saw with a wave of her paw.. As if she were shuuing him away.
Masozi raised his head for a fraction of a second, "So. Sleep. I don't care." His gravely voice was hard, but there wasn't much emotion behind it. A twitching among the grasses caught his eye and the hyena lept forward, began to frantically dig at the base of a bush and then caught a rodent, dragging it from the shallow den it had dug there, snapping it's frail back bone in his teeth before swallowing it. He gave a small barking laugh, shook the excess dirt from his hair and continued snuffing around not going closer to the stone the cheetah rested on, but not moving off as the female wished him too.
She heard a scappering and then the male's voice. Which made her ears prop up and down to lift her head. That COULD have been HER food. One eyelid twitched but then her mind kinda switched off. "Yea know... " Both eyes now slitted and a smirk on her face. "Why don't you catch me one of those~ while your at it.~" She sing-songed.
The tell tale laugh of his species fell from his maw again at the speckled female's words, "Can't the cheetah fend for herself?" He asked, "Your parents would be so disappointed in you, I'm sure." His works were mocking but his tone was flat. The male continued to snoop around, the rodents in the area were all frightened, huddling in their deep dug holes, he could hear them, smell them, but was it really worth the effort to dig them out... when they were stupid enough to make their homes close to the surface it was, otherwise he skipped them over, and their tiny life lines extended another day.
"Hey~ If yea find some parents for me. Go on and tell them ~ But otherwise.. I don't know quite how to hunt.. Its why I sleep all the time.. Wont you help~ " She said in an almost pleading voice. "And besides.. you dont have much to do anyway.. just from one meal to the next, eh?" Her front paws lifted her upper body leaving the other down side in a drape form.
"Then ya die." He murmured, almost as if he wasn't speaking to her, he continued searching and found another shallow dug hole, using quick feet he uncovered two more rodents, and snapped up both of them, one after the other, but only swallowing one, he left the other on the ground. "If you can't fend for yourself. You should have never left home. Rats won't fill your belly." He retorted in a halting way searching still, hoping for a hare or something larger, but it seemed the area wasn't giving up it's meatier occupants today.
"Listen... Mutt. I'm telling you for your own good. Or. Would you rather have a cheetah at your back. I only ask for a helping hand. If you don't give it to me.. I will just pray on the one I'm talking to." Her tail flipping about.. As she smoothly slipped off the rock and made her way like a snake to him. Hunching beside him.. for a split second. "Yea know.. your handsome up close."
A quirk and a very odd smile crooked over her lips. "Do you want me to take a place with... bigger.. pray~ darling~" She joked and gave off a impish laugh.
"Masozi." He glanced at her again, stopping his searching to listen, caught by her words for a moment. "If you're going to beg, at least be polite about it." He didn't seem the least bit worried about her threats, thinking them idle, if she couldn't hunt for herself, she wouldn't be able to catch him. Unless she was lying. Masozi didn't trust easily, he had no reason to. Both threats and compliments rolled from his back, unnoticed. "You want me to catch you something larger, where you do not even seem grateful for what you were already given then." He chuckled.
"What are you talking about! I don't beg. Here. I'll take yea to the big bait. I seen them." Which.. to her was normal. She leaped on to his back. "My legs hurt.. But I can point yea through the way. Because yea see.. The big herds of bucks and gazelle were just lil ways away." She continued as she made herself comfortable on his back. "Oh Maso~ I'm Nyoka ~"

Masozi swiftly skirted aside, not letting the cheetah leap upon his back and make herself comfortable. He growled lightly at her action, head down, eyes on her, watching her moves, trusting her less and less. "Nyoka." His words were sharper now. "I don't know what you think you're playing at, I will not be your prey, nor will I bow to your wishes. You seem to move about easily enough for someone in such pain. If you cannot walk, then you will die. When we part who will take care of you? If you want help you must also show that you are worth that help."
