Raimi awoke with a startled yelp, the sun it would seem had started to shine in the sky well he lay resting in the cool grass by his cave home.
"What a way to wake up." He mumbled sleepily and stretched out his muscles, popping could be heard followed by a sigh. Raimi stuck his nose in the air and smelled to his hearts content. "It is so nice out today-" He was interrupted by a faint growling. He paused and looked down at his stomach and laughed sheepishly. " Guess I should head down to find some food to eat."

Kisu, on the other hand... had been awake for a while now. One might not believe it of him, but he could get up early when it suited him. And he had a fair distance to travel today, so an early start was best!
As per usual, the dark wild dog was on the hunt, but not for food. Not at the moment, anyway. He'd heard rumors of a whole pack of dogs who hunted down treasure ... just like he loved to do. So he was looking around for information on them. Or even the pack itself!
Poking his head over the next rise, he caught sight of another wild dog and grinned. "Hey!" he called - hoping the other was friendly and not inclined to bite his head off or something.

Raimi was startled by a male voice yelling in the distance. He looked over his shoulder and spotted another like his kinda.
" Hello there," Rai called back with a smile, it had been awhile since he had seen anyone in his part of the wood. " What brings you here? " Raimi began to make his way cautiously towards the stranger unsure of how the other was like, friend or enemy. Rai was usually a good judge of character though and the gray wilddog seemed friendly enough.

When the other wild dog came toward him, Kisu's tail started wagging back and forth a bit. Oh good, he didn't seem violent at all! Really, Kisu didn't mind a good fight now and again, but he wasn't looking for that today, thank you very much.
"Not much," he answered the other's question. "I'm just sorta traveling through ... looking for some information on a pack I'd heard of. Or the pack itself, whichever comes first."

Raimi nodded at the replied answer. "Traveling you say? Ah, now that sounds like fun! Around these parts there are many things to do and see, you just have to be careful not to get so involved or things can get ugly." Raimi traveled closer still, at a trotting pace. " Hmm a pack you say?" Rai paused. "Can't say I've seen another pack around here. Its mostly been me, myself, and I." Rai finished with a joke.
"My name's Raimi by the way, but you can call me Rai if you want!" Rai looked around the landscape. " Where is your pack? Or are you alone like me?"

"Nice to meet you, Rai! I'm Kisu'Makali, but most just end up calling me Kisu. It's easier."
Tilting head a little, he lolled his tongue out of his mouth a bit and blinked at the other. Hadn't heard of any packs huh? That was too bad... but still, it was nice to meet new people! "I don't really have a pack, just my family. I left them to go uhmm... explore on my own for a while, though."

Raimi tried to mouth his new friends name but found it difficult and with a laugh he replied, " Kisu it is then! Nice name though. It mean something? Oh hm well I ment family. Pack means family to me, that is what I call it. I lost my family long ago in a hunting accident back when I was in my teen years and I do not have any brothers or sisters to be with so it can get pretty lonely here." He paused with a frown.
"Exploring you say? Have you been to many places? I have heard stories when I was a pup on how some places they have white stuff falling from the sky and other such things."
Raimi was about to continue on talking when a growl interrupted him yet again. "I'm about to head off to get some food, I'm straving. Care to join me?"

"Oh I'm sorry to hear about your family ..." Kisu said, stopping the wagging of his tail for a moment. It was always sad when someone had lost their family or someone else close to them.
"I've been around... though I've never seen any white stuff falling from the sky! That sounds interesting..."
Kisu blinked then and nodded. "Sure. I'm not all that hungry, but I don't mind helping you catch something!"

Raimi looked up into the sky and then looked at his friend in the corner of his eye. " Thank you, it was hard to loose them in the beginning. I was a very angry child after it happened but I slowly got better with some friends of mine. I know someday we will meet them again. I want to make my father proud and mother proud as well. So I'm just going to live my days to the fullest and live happy you know? No use in being sad all the time."
Raimi nodded, " Yeah I heard that from my friend the sparrow she said during her travels she came across it. She told me she about froze half-to-death from it." Rai smiled, "Alright! Sounds good! Its been awhile since anyone has joined me on a fishing hunt. Follow me!"
Rai began making his way down grassy-stone covered path. "We should be near it very soon." He was trying to impress his friend with his hunting skills but sadly ended up tripping over his feet.
Rai lay dazed for a minute on the ground before sheepishly looking at Kisu. 'Great.' He thought sarcasticly. ' Show him how much of a clutz you can be at times.' He cleared his throat and shook himself off. "Hm, like I said this way."

Kisu held back a snort of laughter when the other fell over his own feet. After all, he could remember doing stuff like that a time or two himself. So it wouldn't really be nice to laugh now.
"Fishing hunt? I don't think I've done that before... so you'll have to show me the ropes, I guess."

Raimi laughed himself after all it was quite funny that he did that. "Yup! Fish can be quite tasty, well certain kinds." Rai wrinkled his nose at the memory of eating a swordfish. " Oh what do you eat then?"
He paused to look down. " Here we are!" Rai gestured with his paw. The water was a clear crystal color, you literally could see what was inside the watery depths. "The trick is- brr!" Rai had dove in without testing the waters first. "T-the tric-ck is to s-stay still and at the last possible moment attack with your teeth or claws."

"Oh uhm... well, rabbits, and mice and things. Sometimes a younger gazelle or something," Kisu replied, puffing his chest out a little. After all, he figured it must be harder to catch things that ran away. Instead of fish just swimming around lazily in the water.
This would be easy! Splashing out into the water, Kisu spotted a fish and dove after it ... but he overshot and just ended up falling on his face in the water with a spluttering noise. Auck!! It was really cold!

"Oh I've had rabbit before, those buggers are so hard to catch!" He watched with friend puff up his chest with a silent chuckle.
"Oh my!" Rai couldn't help himself and had to laugh. " Well that was a very good first try! You almost had him, watch me though."
Rai headed up a little further paws still touching the sandy ground of the lake and he began to whisper. "Let the water take hold of you, feel it move your body back and forth just alittle." He grew silent as he spotted a fish approaching. "And.... SNAP!" With his final word he brought down his paw and batted it out of the water to watch it flop on the forest floor.
"That is how you do that my friend." He continued to watch the fish until it stilled and then he looked over at Kisu with a smile. "Ready to try again?"

Still sputtering a bit, Kisu picked himself up out of the water and watched the other wild dog, shivering a little. "Oh ... well, I feel dumb now," he laughed at himself. "Okay so ... here goes again."
Moving away from where he'd fallen into the water, Kisu watched the fish carefully ... then batted at one of them, but ended up missing. Hmph. Well, at least he didn't fall in this time.

Raimi whapped Kisu on the nose in a friendly gesture. "Hey, don't feel dumb! You are just learning right now. Practice makes perfect!" Rai continued to watch and finally spoke up. "Your posture is really good! Just keep working at it." Rai batted another fish out of the water. "If you do not succeed, you can always try another time plus I am willing to share the food if you want."
