The sun had barely settled itself into the eastern sky when Gypsy took her first look at her new home. The cliff she stood upon offered quite the 'birds eye view' of the lush valley below. From the look of things, resources were bountiful. There was plenty of sweet green grass to eat, and more than enough cool water to drink. Yes, this place would do as a home, for now.

Tossing her mane, she set about her course. The rocky terrain under her hooves was not too unlike the sands of her now distant homeland. Though she had somehow found the mountain to be far more unforgiving.

Once her hooves thudded against the softer, greener terra, she picked her pace up to a trot. The freedom was nothing new to her, she had the soul of a nomad, a drifter, a gypsy. She nickered as she trotted, calling out to any who may be near by.

Szad was in a crouched position. He had been observing the free-spirited female for a while now. He had hidden himself strategically in the shadows of the thicker forest edge. Even his soft, light color was not too much of a beckon in this shroud. The sun was also positioned in his favor. he didn't not have to worry about it stealing his hiding spot.
As his clear eyes gazed on the black beauty, with what seemed to be birds woven in her long mane, he saw her run and move. She held herself gracefully, It reminded him of Faerin; a caring young mare he had met not many moons ago. This female also somehow seemed kind in a similar way...Szad was not afraid to approach her, not as her usually was. His closed-off and shy nature always caused him to run off when caught off guard by strangers. But now, coming to these lands far form his home grasses. Time and mustangs alike had taught him to face his fear and take a leap. Just as his two-legger instructed most of the time. He also wanted to acquaint himself with this mare, but something in his mind to act and approach differently. Usually he was the one that was observed and then approached, he wanted to know what it was like. He wanted to try their way as well!
His face changed into a small smile, when he heard the mare's call to others whom might be around.

Thanos had found himself wandering yet again. Why he continued to do so when it didn't help recover his memories he didn't know. Perhaps he would figure it out one day but for now he wandered. His mind had been only semi-clouded this day, although thoughts of Regret did block out many other thoughts. Still it was as clear of a state of thinking as he could have asked for. Memories, he would recover them today, he just knew it. Maybe not all of them, but most certainly some. One memory that bothered him the most, or at least he thought it did, was the memory of how he had died. Had he died in a fight, perhaps drown in a river or of a natural cause.

"So what is it today that we are doing?" Peace asked the stallion as he walked along.
"Let's hope whatever it is involves killing!" War cried out.

"Well unless you see something to kill I don't see that happening." Thanos told the rat, for so far today he hadn't see any other horses outside of the ones from his herd when he left this morning. Then he caught a noise from off in the distance. "What was that?" He asked although he was pretty sure it was another horse.

"Sounds like something that wants to die!"
"I doubt it wants to die, and I do believe it's another horse."

Well if it was a horse Thanos would find it. He quickened his pace a bit as he moved across the grassy meadow. Soon it came into sight. The horse was black much like he was, but it seemed to have these odd things in it's mane and tail. He slowed his pace a bit and stared at the mare. "What are those things on her?" He hadn't seen anything like them before. At least he didn't think he had.

"Those are feathers, and it looks like a couple of flowers." Peace told him after climbing atop the stallions head to get a better look.

After receiving no immediate reply to her call, Gypsy trotted to the nearby stream. There were others nearby, she was certain of it. They would make themselves known soon enough.

She paused a moment, glancing at her reflection. Those who had brought her here, across the sea, had seen fit to adorn her mane and tail with pretty feathers and baubles. She tossed her mane once more, as if trying to shake the things loose. They didn't matter, though. She had her freedom once more, that was enough.

Szad did not answer the mare's call. he continued to watch her. He moved with her, always covered by the protection of the shadows. He wondered how many mustangs were out there. He could also sense their presence as she had.
he glanced around, wondering if perhaps his point of view might have an advantage of the mare's, and would it be able to spot others. It didn't seem li--

Szad froze. His body just stood as stone in fear. It was not possible. How could...No. His eyes must be playing tricks on his mind. There was no possible, physical way for a corpse to be walking around freely like it belonged to the living. Nowaynowaynoway!! He began to turn blue. He had been holding his breath,. He let in a huge gulp of air suddenly, but then caught himself. What if the monster horse had some strange, ultra-sensitive senses and heard him?! Szad's eyes teared in complete and utter terror. He began to shake. A corpse....it was...a corpse....and it was going to kill him....

"AGHHHHHGHHHH!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!" He cried at the top of his lungs and ran like the wind into the forest aimlessly. All sense of common sense gone.

Suddenly, he tripped over a lifted root. He didn't move. i am invisible...invisible....in- i am going to DIEEEEEEE

Thanos watched the mare as she stopped at the stream to drink, well clearly she hadn't seen him yet. Not like he truly cared. The moment she did she would run away like all the others had before. But he continued along towards the stream, perhaps scaring her would lift his spirits for the day. If that was even possible to do anymore. His head snapped up when he heard a sudden scream. How odd it hadn't come from the mare, for her head was still down drinking from the stream. His head swiveled about. He could see another horse anywhere.

"Quickly after that one! It is already running scared." War cried out.

"How can I chase after something I can't see?" Thanos asked the rat. It just didn't make any sense to him. True he knew the general area that the scream had come from but that part of the forest could get thick in areas and he really didn't feel like running into the trees to chase one he couldn't see. Besides the last time he went running blindly into the trees his exposed intestines had gotten snagged on a broken off branch and well that had hurt like hell. So he wasn't about to go do that again.

"Well if you followed the sound perhaps you could find it. Although it does have a good start on us now." Peace told the stallion calmly. "But let's not forget what happened last time.
"It wouldn't have such a head start is this stupid beast didn't hesitate so often."

"I have not forgotten about the last time." The black steed told Peace. It felt odd saying such a thing but it was for once true. The pain he felt that day was still fresh in his mind. Just goes to show that even the walking dead can experience all the things that the living do. "We will find it one day." He told them. Yes, when his herd made their move they would find every single one and.....well they would do something, that was for sure. With a sort of shrug he continued towards the stream. Well at least he could still have fun with the mare, he thought.

Ears perking at the sound of the not so distant scream, Gypsy lifted her head. Turning her gaze to the forest, she paused, watching. She watched for several moments, seeing no signs of movement. Flicking her tail, she turned back to the stream, intending on fully quenching her thirst. Instead, she found herself staring off once again at the sight waiting for her across the stream.

It took her a few moments to realize what she was looking at was indeed real. Upon that realization, she snorted. "I suppose you're what caused the fit of panic which echoed from the forest?"

By the time the rat refered to as "Peace" had begun talking to the back skinned living corpse, Szad had regained enough control over his muscles to slowly move his head to see if there was a giant, decaying, horrible monster about to devour his head. His imagination scared him enough, God knows what would have happened if it were to be physically there. Szad would probably literally have his heart beating out of his mouth...poor boy. Though, thank the heavens, it was not so. There was no creature hovering murderously over him. He was alone. In the dark, thick forest, laying on the ground. Now covered in dust. And in quite a foolish position as well. His eyes were still teary.

He allowed his eyes to slowly gaze around for any sign of the frightening zombie horse. He moved slowly, hoping that if there was any danger lurking in the same shadows, he would at least appear still to it. Seeing that his "attacker" had actually seemed to ignore his lung-tipped cry, he gave an unconsciously loud sigh of relief. This time not cutting it short. But wait.... He told himself. Look again Szad. Look. That dark, foul creature is heading in the direction of the mare! He...he...HE IS GOING TO KILL HER! His eyes and mind grew dizzy with the sudden burst of adrenaline and bravery. He stood up, wobbled unsteady of a paused moment and then bolted. His legs strong and his direction precise. He didn't even breath, as not to slow himself down. He was going to save that mare!

He burst inbetween the mare and the devil horse, and he stood his ground. His heart felt as though it was going to burst. How he was managing this while in complete terror he did not know. His mind was completely blank and only one thought bounced around."Don't hurt this mare! Don't hurt her! Please oh please don't harm her!!!"

Thanos looked at the mare, glanced behind him to one side and then the other. "I suppose so." He said as his eyes returned to look at her once more. "You are not gonna run away huh?" How utterly disappointing. He must really work on this whole being scary thing, clearly his looks just weren't cutting it anymore. Maybe he needed to move like a scary thing, or make....scary noises? Meh he would try that some other time, since he doubted doing such things would scare this mare away now.

"She who looks death in the face shall be the first to die!" War called to the stallion. Trying to tell him to kill her.
"Well aren't we being the scholar today." Peace snorted. It wasn't often that War was so well-spoken.

Thanos opened his mouth to say something but then he noticed a large grey stallion come running out of the trees and come to a stop standing between himself and the mare. Was he telling him not to hurt the mare? Thanos' eyes moved to where the stallion had come running out of the forest. Ah, so this must be the screamer he thought. How odd for the beast to one minute fear Thanos so much the he screams is terror and runs off, but then returns to defend this mare.

His red eyes moved back to the grey stallion. Why was he saying please? Did this situation call for such an odd word. He sighed slightly, thought he wasn't sure why, glanced at the mare and then back to the stallion. "Ah the triumphant return." He said nonchalantly at the big grey. Had Thanos intended to hurt the mare this pathetic little display from the stallion certainly wouldn't stop him. After all the draft, though clearly trying to act brave, had the look of fear in his eyes. He had ran away once, surely he would do that again if Thanos made the right move. A scary move of course.

Though the act of chivalry was not lost on her, Gypsy couldn't help but wonder what the gray stallion was doing. Did he honestly fear the phantasm before them so much it reduced him to a trembling, rattling pile of flesh and bones? Did he truly believe this... specter... would, or could, harm him? Well, perhaps he could, but Gypsy found it all to be quite silly.

"I don't believe his intention is to harm." She said, tilting her head in curiosity. "I believe his wish is simply to cause fear and panic of that which is unknown. Of course, I could be wrong." She lowered her head for another drink.

Szad shivered so much he was almost frozen/ he could not stop his muscles, much less control him. his head whipped from the black mare to the demon horse. this was not what was supposed to happen...he felt like a complete fool. His head sank slightly, his bangs falling over his eyes. Now he really just wanted to disappear.

His ears flattened against his head and he racked his brain for a possible solution to his blunder. He searched for the pause of a heart beat and then decided on an action. "A-a-re y-you...g-going t-t-t-o hurt h-her....?"

Red eyes moved from the mare to the stallion and then back to the mare. Another bunch of bothersome horses that would need to be eradicated from these lands to make way for his herd. Thanos was going to have one hell of time remembering all the horses he had run into that would need to be dealt with later. Though there were a few that he wouldn't mind keeping alive if for no other reason than to have him join the herd to further his cause. He shook his head, he was getting distracted from the present again by his wishes for destruction. His eyes settled back upon the trembling stallion. "If I were to hurt her do you think you could stop me?" He snorted, eyes glowing a darker red than they were before.

"You should crush both of them now!"
"I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even need to crush that stallion, one sudden move and he'd probably drop dead out of fear."

Thanos looked back at the mare, she seemed completely undisturbed by his looks or presence. How odd. Most horses reacted more like the stallion when he had screamed and ran off. Thanos loved hearing that scream of terror, that could be the reason why he roamed so often away from his herd, just to hear that scream. "You are wrong." He said to the mare. "I do not wish to just cause fear, I wish to crush every living thing that stands in my way, in my herds way.

She finished her drink, then slowly lifted her head. After licking the remaining droplets of water from her lips, she turned to Thanos. "Then I apologize for my mistake."

She gave the gray stallion a kind smile. "It's all right. There's no need to fear. Perhaps introductions are in order now, yes? My name is Gypsy. Gypsy Rose."

Fear froze Szad's blood and rushed his mind. He did not want to fight, he did not want to give birth to violence. But...but...he could not run. I cannot run! Not this time! His muscles stiffened tightly, he stood up straight and looked the corpse in the glowing red eye. Its eerie appearance sent chills down his spine, but he stood strong.
"St-stop y-y-you i d-doubt i...c-could....B-but I w-will try t-to pro-t-t-ect this m-mare!" His voice was gentle, but firm. And he hoped with every inch of his body that he would have the mental strength to see his statement through.

As he fastened his control over himself, he heard the gentle voice of the mare. His head turned at looked at her. No fear... he wondered over the mare's strength and nobility. "Gypsy...." It sounded a bit familiar. But not as one's name...something else....someone else....

"I am S-szad...." He looked back at the frightful stallion standing not far from him. He internalized Gypsy's words and tried to smile at his 'enemy'. "D-do you h-have a n-name...sir?" One thing he knew, maybe the only thing that was true in his life, was that if one looks for a freind, one will eventually find one.

"Don't just stand there, kill the weak one! And the mare too!" War chirped while pounding her feet into Thanos' back.

Thanos stared at the stallion for a long time thinking on War's words. Yes he could easily take down this stallion, probably wouldn't even need to hit him, just make a quick move towards him and the the big grey would surely drop to the ground dead out of sheer fear. It wouldn't be a very satisfying kill though, which would be a huge disappointment. At least he had gotten to her the stallions scream of fear earlier. That had lifted his spirits a bit.

"Why don't you just tell them your name?" Peace suggested, noting Thanos was yet to answer the other horses questions.
"Don't be stupid, they don't need to know his name! He just needs to kill them and get it over with!"

Thanos turned his head to the side. "Why do I need to tell them my name? Does it really matter?" He asked Peace. "Kill them and get it over with." He repeated to War. "Whats the point? He looks like he is ready to keel over out of fear."

"Just tell them your name already!" Peace insisted.

"Fine I will tell them my name. But I really don't see the point." He turned his head to one again look at the two horses on the other side of the stream. Standing tall he stared the large stallion down again before speaking. "I am Thanos, leader of the Hell Herd if you must know." There, he thought, now they know my name. He had already forgetting what their names were. That was just more useless information to clog his confused mind, besides he didn't need to know the names of his soon to be victims, that wouldn't stop him from killing them. No best to just forget details like that and worry about making sure these horses fell under the hooves of his herd.
