Which Torah portion? I'm new to this sort of thing. @Lumanny, have you seen the new Star Trek? I re-watched it last night and decided I don't like the guy they got to play the doctor. Everyone else was fantastic though. (Okay, okay...I'll stop talking about non-Torah things now)

I'll explain a general idea of what I think is being proposed for those who don't understand.
There are five "Seferim" that make up the torah. Each week one parshah (story? sorry I can't think of a better definition) is read in its entirety during the shobbos shachris (daytime) davening. The parshah is split into 7 parts and has a extra part at the end called the haftorah that comes from Niviim or Kesuvim (other writing that aren't the actual torah.)
We recently finished the Sefer Bereishis (Genesis). It is customary that when a book is finished the congregation cheers "Chazak chazak vetiztchadeyk."
The proposal I think is that everyone study and discuss the weekly parshah.
This week is Parshas Shemos from the sefer Shemos.
P.S. I know I'm missing things like the shorter layning throughout the week, maftir, and I'm sure other things but this should explain enough of the gist for those who didn't grow up in a jewish environment.
