The days were starting to warm and she'd heard the sound of birds singing. As she walked along to get a drink from a near by stream, she spotted a few plants peeking out from under the snow. If things kept getting warmer, she'd start to see buds on the flowering plants soon enough. As she reached the stream, she lowered her head and drank deeply the cool water. Raising her head only when she'd had her fill of it and began to walk away, her tail dragging along behind her. With a small sigh, she laid down under an evergreen so she wouldn't have the snow melting under her and adding to the still small chill that lurked in promise of an up coming freeze.

Albert made his way along a river, idly meandering around trees and avoiding rocks. he had spent his winter holed up in a cave actually to survive the freezing weather. He actually had had some time to stock up, sensing things would be bad this year, and knowing that those unprepared would find it hard. So he had spent some time and gathered, then spent his winter not exactly shivvering, but never fully warm. And now, he was stretching his legs a bit, enjoying the feel of the sun that would soon feel much warmer.

She gave a small shiver and huffed a breath that was visible in the shade of the tree. The wild life was starting to make it's presence known more so now with the sounds of scurrying smaller animals out to do their daily chores. Looking at a warmed patch of earth in the sun, she grumbled some to herself before standing and walking over to it. Sadly what seemed to be a decent spot to sun herself turned out to be nothing but a mud hole from the melted snow. Turning she went off to find maybe a rocky slab that she could soak up the heat from and chase away the chill of the morning.

His legs uncramped a bit as he walked, and finally broke into a trot, and then a ground-eating canter. It was a type he could keep up for a long time if he felt like it, and at the moment, he did. Drying grasses brushed at his legs, and his hoof-falls were cushioned in the grass, so they could hardly be heard. It would be a bit before he could enjoy a pleasant canter again.

She crossed the open area and looked about, keeping a close eye out for a flat stone she could sun on. Her ears swiveled around listening for any sounds that could mean danger or any other approaching animals. She'd heard nothing and what was worse was she was seeing nothing. With another huff of steam, she stopped and looked around shivering. Off in the distance she swore she'd seen a glint of something that the light had caught. Shaking her head, she chalked it up to be her mind playing tricks on her.

He continued making good time to no where, enjoying himself, when he caught a bit of color out in the world before him. It was hard to tell from the dried grass field he was crossing, but the colors were a little more pale and red. It looked as though it was a mare standing, looking for something. He changed directions, now having somewhere to do, and headed to meet her. Hello, he called, not wanting to startle her.

Her ears flicked to the voice before her head turned to see who it was that had spoken. " Hello" She smiled as she looked at him. He'd come from the direction she'd seen the glint and judging bu the armor he wore, she was willing to bet it had been him that she's seen in the distance. "Fair weather we're having today, isn't it?" Her voice was friendly and warm as she spoke, a trail of steam exiting her mouth with every word.

He slowed to a walk as he neared the mare, and nodded at her words. That it is. Spring is most certainly on its way. As he drew close enough, he finally stopped, and gave a small welcoming grin to the mare. I for one, and going to be most happy when the grass is green again, and the clover is blooming. My name is Albert. May I have the pleasure of your name?
He was certain now he had seen the mare at some point during the winter, but it had been a glimpse. It was hard to mistake her colors for any other. He was glad to see that she had survived the winter.

"My name's Shoshana, but please, call me Sho." She grinned right back. Indeed spring would be most welcome after the winter. She looked at his cloak most intently and his armor. She hadn't meant to stare, it was just that she'd never seen a soquili with armor or cloaks. It wasn't till she'd started actually closing the gap between them in order to get a closer look that she realized what she was doing. Taking a step back, she cleared her throat with a sheepish look. " Sorry.. I er.. just never seen such attire with soquili through my travels."
