[ This is an rp log between Polette [Teleza] and Seaki [Kabaa] ]
PostPosted: Fri Jan 01, 2010 9:50 pm

A dark shadow moved swiftly across the ground, only really notable by a shock of florescent fuchsia down his back and the cyan collar that would forever be impinted around his neck in a mocking symbol of his own past slavery.

But that's not was he was doing about. His master had set him lose a few moons ago, and he honestly was lost. He hadn't been aroudn this area before.

Sinking lower to the ground, the moving shadow slowed to a stop, stomach groaning in protest at the lack of food he could provide for himself.

Trotting along by himself once again, Teleza's dark eyes seemed as sad as always. When he was by himself, things always bubbled up in his mind. He wished that Kana could be here, to comfort him or to tell him to warm her up, to groom her. But she was still so small, and not allowed to leave pride lands, not even for a little while.

His massive frame was easy to spot, but Teleza feared few things in life, none of which were attack from another. He never kept his eyes open for others, he let them see him first. If his mere size didn't scare them off, then they would approach, and there was no trouble bor Teleza. He wasn't one to be bothered by others, because their problems seemed so minescule compared to his own, their stories fairytales. That, or they were too full of themselves for Teleza's tastes, and he ended up reverting to his old self.

Kabaa had covered his face with his paws just before the lion enetered his view. A small whine echoed in the back of his throat, but he hushed himself imediately. He was so badly trained, he scolded himself.

With a decisive shift, he looked up, squaking as he spotted a large lion in his direct line of vision, shaking, he pulled himself and watched the male warily.

Teleza flicked his ears up as a strange sound entered his ears. They were like dishes, and picked up sound better then normal lions because they were so much larger than regular lion ears. He glanced around, wondering more if the sound was of some injured animal more than a threat. He inhaled deeply, his fur ruffling a bit as he did so.

The louder sound drew Teleza's attention to the dark cheetah. The thing was lanky, and seemed as if it would snap if he so much as touched it. Teleza eyed him for a moment, a strange look on his face. He didn't really understand why the cheetah had made so much commotion and then just stood there. Usually things would scream and run, not scream and...linger. "Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to say something?" His deep voice seemed to shake the ground, but he wasn't trying to be threatening.

Kabaa shifted his weight and ducked his head. The voice of the lion was... frightening to say the least. "I-I'm sorry, sir," he hesitated an answer. He didn't know what to say, after all. He wasn't allowed - not an opinion, not a question. What was he supposed to say? He didn't pose the question allowed, simply. shifting under the gaze.

A pause, this lion was someone of authority though - at least, he would be in the pride he was born in, the one that forced him into slavery due to the collar that had be imprinted on his neck at birth - the mark of a slave.

So, the question posed - "May I speak freely, sir?"

This was...odd? Teleza was used to others being frightened by him, but this? The apology almost angered Teleza; he could feel the emotion building in the back of his mind. Someone like him should not be apologized to. Not in any way. "Don't." His eyes flicked down towards the ground. His mood was partially ruined.

"Speak, if you wish. I don't care." Teleza was getting more and more confused by the creature that stood before him. Never had he heard anyone ask for permission to speak. Sure, Teleza himself only spoke when spoken to, but that was different.

Kabaa closed his bright colored eyes for a moment. He was given permission to speak, but his apology was refuted. He frowned - was he not at fault? He didn't state anything of the sort though. He shook his head lightly and reopened his eyes.

"I am not... from here, I don't know the customs and things to get around. Is..." he paused. "Are there any lakes or rivers in this area?" he wouldn't mention that he could not hunt, but water would fill his belly until he could obtain anothers abandoned kill.

The cheetah ground his teeth together for a moment. "May I ask your name, Sir?"

Teleza let out a sigh, almost frustrated by the cheetah. "It doesn't matter too much that you're not from here." Teleza thought that things were done pretty much the same everywhere, but maybe this cheetah grew up a little warped....like he did. He tilted his head to the side, now curious. "Where did you come from?" Teleza had been outcasted by the pride that had taken him in when his pride was slaughtered because of his pelt.

"There....is water in my pride, but I wouldn't reccommend going there. I don't know how...perceptive they'll be towards you." He wasn't too sure on how they'd react to rogues in general, especially not those who are this strange. "Why do you look for water? You need meat, not water." Teleza eyed his skinny legs and sunken frame. Although, it could've just been Teleza's immense size that made the other look so freakishly small.

"A pride, far from here. Slaves were not to know the name of the pride, so that when we were set to die, we couldn't find or slander the name," He spoke calmly, though his head was low still in the sign of submissiveness. If the lion was a cheetah, he was probably be grovelling.

But he wasn't, and he was allowed to speak freely. That's why he was set out - he knew too much, and he was opinionated. That made for a bad slave, but he still knew the rules, and still acted like a slave, having grown up that way.

His mind couldn't even make sense of his own actions, and he flinched, wondering at his own horrid behavior, at least, what he believed to be horrid behavior.

"Water can fill my stomach until I find meat..." He spoke truthfully.

"Huh." Teleza listened, but didn't care too much. He would have preferred the life of a slave. That way, he wouldn't have had to do the disgusting things he did. "Well, I guess that's slightly interesting." Not as interesting as he'd hoped, but not a total waste of air.

"Why don't you just go and get meat?" The concept was strange to Teleza; whenever he felt even the slightest rumble in his stomach, he just went out and killed something, no big deal. He easily outran things, usually paralyzed them with a swipe of his massive paw. "You shouldn't allow yourself to just fill up on water without eating. You'll stay small forever." He knew well that food was the best thing to make others big and strong.

That would have been all well and good if Kabaa could hunt, however, that was not the case, and Kabaa could not hunt. "I... haven't found any yet," he said shamefully, hesitating to reveal the truth.

Kabaa would probably remain small for the rest of his life because of this inability, but he had coped - he had to scavnge in his pride as well, for slaves were to fend for themselves in that sense.

"Well, you should go find some. Fatten yourself up." Teleza patted his chest with his paw. "You'll never be as big as me, but you won't grow at all if you don't eat." He didn't want to keep the cheetah from finding a meal. Especially not if the cheetah was in such poor condition. "You should go find something to eat. I won't keep you."

He turned, not wanting to give the shrunken cheetah a reason to avoid hunting. "Go on, now." He dipped his head, trying to make him go along.

Kabaa hesitated, shifting on his paws, but he nodded anyways. This lion didn't help him at all, and now he had to go find a river to fill his belly and scavange around to find someone's left overs. Ah well, that's life.

"Thank you," he dipped his head lower, and turned to skitter away, nose twitching in hopes to find some water. He paused though, looking back at the white male efore letting his body fall into a low stalking crouch, as was his normal gait.

"Yeah yeah." Teleza shifted positions, wanting to return to his pride now. He had had enough of the day outside the pride lands, and enough of this strange cheetah. If anything, it only enforced his prior belief of lions as the better species.

"Go on." He flicked his tail, and began his trot home.
