How had all of this started?! Sailor Iris was wondering this as she now literally ran away not from one, but 4 Youma on a rampage. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was one, but she had FOUR of them chasing her all at once. She really wasn't paying attention to where she was specifically running right now, since her main priority right now was to GET THE F*CK AWAY!

The evening hadn't been so bad to start. Sailor Iris had decided to patrol around the junkyard again, thanks to yet another report from Hank about materials going missing. Last time there had been damaged goods on premises, a Youma had been responsible. This led to her encountering Sailor Idiot (aka Castor). She casually made her way past piles of metal scrap, when she suddenly spied a foreign form. It was a Youma, that much was for certain. It looked like a mix between a giant boar, a long horned bull, and puke (based off how ugly the beastie was). The Sailor Scout clad in yellow grinned from ear to ear, thinking this was going to be a simple job. Just lasso the stupid Youma beastie in, and then possibly cut off its head.

If only she had thought the whole thing through. Instead, she shouted out "Iris Rainbow Ribbon" and flung a thin spread of colored light at the Youma. The Youma screeched and squealed the minute it had the colorful noose about its neck, attempting to buck off this foreign feeling around its neck.

"Piece of cake!" She began to tug on the ribbon, attempting to finish the job, when she heard something that nearly made her soil herself. 4 distinct screeches had replied to the frantic calls of the current Youma she was wrestling with (figuratively). She managed to end the current Youma with a strong tug, its head falling onto the ground heavily, rolling slightly in one direction. As her rainbow faded, she heard the four squeals, much louder than before. She glanced up and now found four Youma of the exact same type, pawing their hooves against the ground and glaring at her like they were ready to kill.

"Oh sh*t!" The rest was history, and now as she was running to AVOID these furious monsters, she couldn't help but wonder if she'd even make it out alive this time or not. They did have very sharp looking horns, and Sailor Iris wasn't in the mood to get more stitches. The girl wasn't even remotely aware of where she was now, but soon enough she saw the form of some guy in front of her. "Get outta th'way, dude!" she shouted ahead of her. Last thing she needed on her conscious was some civilian getting trampled to death by a herd of pissed off Youma.

Sailor Taurus had been out on patrol. That's what they were supposed to do, right? Zodiacs had to patrol against the growing threat of evil. He barely remembered the force that had destroyed them all those years ago and he had yet to encounter anyone that sparked those memories. The only thing that confused him more was the fact that he suddenly had a decent grasp of jumping over buildings. That was definitely not something he did all the time when he had just been a normal kid going to school. Though, this was a great way to escape traffic.

His soft shoes barely made a sound as he landed on the platform of a fire escape, making sure he was pressed up against the brick instead of the windows in case someone decided to look out. This meant the most awkward, bent position he could muster between the two low windows. Whoever said that patrolling was a glamorous job was a flat out liar. He was reminded of this as he slowly pulled his foot from between the railings, desperately trying not to slip and be ultimately trapped between a dumpster and a brick wall.

However, with the quick leap and a twirl of red fabric, he had landed perfectly on the ground. All would have been fine and dandy had a tremble not gone through his body. Was he shaking? He look down at his hands. Well, his fingers weren't trembling individually. That normally happened when he was shaking. Quick movements close to his face caught his gaze.

Pebbles? Loose gravel was bouncing around his feet. That wasn't normal by any sense. It was then that Sailor Taurus noticed that everything around him was starting to move and dance around him like there was an earthquake.

An earthquake?! "What is going on?!" The sound of pounding had drowned out his voice by now. Was there a parade he hadn't been aware of? The moment he looked up to whatever had been making the noise, he wished he had already been running. A girl was being chased by a pack of...bulls? No. They definitely weren't bulls. Bull or not, they were getting closer. Fight or flight kicked in and self preservation was at the top of that list. Before he could even have one of his famous inner monologues, he was already spinning on his heels. Getting out of the way felt like a damn good idea.

It was times like this that he was thankful for being a decent runner. "What the hell did you do to piss these things off?!" He called out to the girl escaping with him. There would be time for introductions and formalities when they weren't running for their lives.

Her feet continued to press her forward as fast and furiously as they could, despite the fact that the stampeding Youma were very slowly gaining on her. At first, the guy in front of her only had looked like some ordinary guy, but that was probably due to the dim light more than anything. However, the closer she got, she saw that he looked like someone who just came from a costume party. Oh god, she hoped this guy wasn't a jackass and going to attempt being the "bullfighter" with these monsters behind her. There were so many jackasses out there who would do that, especially if they were drunk.

And then the guy turned and began to run. If anything, this was a good sign that he wasn't a drunk b*****d. He was still a bit ahead of him, so all she really could see was that red cape fluttering practically in her face as she ran. She did manage to somehow hear his voice over the sound of the hooves pounding into the ground and her heart pounding her head.

"Oh! I killed a lone one, but th'damned thing called its friends before it died! Didn't think there was more than one!" At least she was being honest about the whole thing. Though it was probably the wrong time to ask about it, she had to know one thing. "So, what the hell party didja just get out from? Yer costume is kinda fruity lookin' fer a bullfighter!" She would have said more, but she managed to get a mouthful of cape in her mouth. Bleh!

"Killed it?! No wonder they're angry!" He looked back at whatever was chasing her and now him. The flowing cape was more trouble than he thought. It wasn't until he finally bunched up the fabric in one hand that he was able to examine the situation in it's entirety. She was like him. She had to be by the look of her. Not exactly but definitely. Still, that didn't stop the rampaging herd behind them that was still charging at full speed. He picked up his feet as fast as they would go, trying to put as much distance between them as possible. He had to think of something and fast.

Obviously, she didn't have a plan or they would've stopped by now or she would've let him in on it. But the only thing that came out of her mouth were questions that could probably be left to a better time. "A costume party?! Halloween was months ago!" It seemed so obvious to him. Of course, he didn't know about all the other male senshi besides his teammates and they were dressed pretty distinctly. The others looked quite different. "I'm Sailor Taurus! The senshi of defense! I'm like you.." His voice was drowned out by a loud..squeal? Roar? Whatever those things did.

Sailor Taurus knew he could stop them for awhile. It was no use trying to keep running from them. What would that accomplish? The youma wouldn't die from running but the senshi would surely die if they got too tired and Taurus was already reaching that point. Jumping over buildings was tiring like that.

There had to be another way to get this done! The senshi quickly spun on his heels, tripping backwards a bit since the cape was still in his grasp. "Just keep running! I can stop them and then we'll figure out how to deal with them!" He hopped backwards, waiting for her to cross some sort of imaginary line before continuing. The boy clapped his hands together, swiping them until they glowed a bright red light before flashing into a bright white.

"Defending Castle Fortification!" The ground quickly began to tremble under him a light cracking through the surface of the earth until it created a line of light in front of him, closing off the alley. His hands reached out in front of him, still glowing as the ground began to split, spiting up great slabs of rock that began placing and rotating themselves until a solid wall was standing between them and the beasts. A satisfying crack sounded out as one inevitably crashed into it, their squeals and roars intensifying at the sudden obstacle. And, just like that, the ground stopped shaking, the light dissipated and his hands dropped to his sides. There was nothing. No scars from the imaginary quarry he'd pulled from the ground or dust swirling around them. Just nothing. The entire thing lasting less than a moment. He turned around, half expecting her to still be there. "As long as they can't climb, we should be good for now..." His face was anything but relaxed, stuck in a 'what now' kind of expression as they both listened to the symphony of pissed off youma from behind the wall.

"Well, EXCUSE ME FER NOT KNOWIN'!" she shouted as her feet pounded against the ground. "I'm used't'the damned uniforms on dudes bein' a bit gayer! Yers is stupid lookin'... but at least it ain't gay!" She was truly appreciative that she found a Senshi (though wasn't Taurus a Zodiac thing? Weird!), but this wasn't the sort of situation you gushed over such a fact. No, you were too busy running the f*ck away to really start doing a meet and greet.

At least, until Taurus started playing Mr. Hero. Oh god, did that always rub Sailor Iris the wrong way. It wasn't like she was doing anything about the situation, but for some reason, she hated the notion of getting her butt saved by anyone. When she heard his call of his attack, she spun around on her heels so she could see what was going on, and literally fell onto her a**. She still wasn't flawless when it came to the damned heeled boots. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she couldn't help but joke Bet'cha can't say that attack name five times fast! At least her attack was pretty easy on the tongue. When the Zodiac boy turned to face her again, his comment and expression combined really seemed to hit home with her.

"Well, sh*t, son! That's a pretty nifty trick y'got there!" she managed to gasp out. Tired of being on her butt, she hoisted her body up with no grace at all and easily flashed the leotard underneath the skirt at the guy. It wasn't like she really cared, as long as he wasn't grabbing her a**, it was all well and good. She clapped her hands off, then walked casually up to the wall. It was just a smidge taller than her, but thanks to her heels, she was able to look over the obstacle slightly. One of the Youma was down, at least knocked unconcious due to the collision. That left 3 ugly pig-bull beasties pawing about, pacing about the wall.

"Well, one's out fer the count," she reported to Taurus rather indifferently. "Still got three up an' about." She began to step away from this boy's handiwork, when all of a sudden, there was an enormous THUD behind the wall. Despite the Youma looking like stupid animals, they were actually quite intelligent and had begun to start ramming into the obstacle with their horns. Sailor Iris frowned at this development. She was still facing the wall when she then explained her plan.

"I started this sh*t... I guess it's my responsibility t'end it. Taurus, was it? Gimme a boost." It wasn't much of a plan at all, and at best, she'd be able to take down one more Youma if she was lucky. It was a risk she had to take. The duty and the what-not.

This situation wasn't getting better anytime soon. Even though he had successfully stopped them, it was hardly a fortress. The 6ft wall could easily break if the youma bashed at it for long enough. Heaven forbid they learn that they could jump over it.

It was obvious that this girl wasn't an expert when it came to high heels. This was not going well. If she could barely stand up then what would she attack with? Not only that but he had no idea what this unfamiliar senshi could do besides throw insults. He doubted insults would kill the youma. In fact, Sailor Taurus was sure of it. The boy in him just wanted to walk away and let her and her insults handle everything but the captain mentality was keeping him rooted to the spot. Time to take some kind of control. "What exactly can you do and who are you? You know what I can do but I can't properly figure out what to do if I don't know everything. It could end badly if we aren't in tune."

Very badly actually. These youma weren't letting up at all.

Taurus thought he sounded rather in charge but, to anyone else, it probably came out as more of a whine. More training was needed to give the boy any sense of presence. Still, they obviously couldn't do anything from this side of the wall. He could still hear the youma scraping and crashing into his barrier. Small hair line cracks were appearing throughout. Nothing to be worried about quite yet but it was definitely something to keep his eye on. If they broke through that, it was all over and he knew that wall wasn't going to last forever.

Of course, he really had no idea how to get her up there. He was only a few inches shorter than the stone wall and it would probably be effort to put a staircase in the thing. He couldn't just ask his powers to suddenly change and build something different. Taurus stood on his tiptooes to look over at the other side as well. She was right about there only be three to worry about now. The unconscious one could be easily dealt with.

"Here. Just jump on my hands. Should be enough of a boost to get you up there. He held out his hands and laced his fingers together, placing them at a low enough height for her to step on. "Try not to dig in with those heels of your please..."

The blonde nodded her head at the boy as he offered his intertwined fingers as a step before planting her foot in his hands. In a tone that probably sounded more chipper than it should have been, she finally answered his questions and concerns.

"Go by Sailor Iris, Senshi of Rainbows. M'powers are pretty gay."

She grunted slightly as she used her hands to hoist herself up onto the wall. Some girls might have had a problem with such, but she made it look pretty easy. Most Sailor girls could probably make it look easy in reality though. Her golden eyes flickered for a moment as she spied the three Youma stalking about, preparing for another assault on the wall. With an overly confident smile on her lips, she managed to tell this guy all he'd need to know before the Youma began to trample forward to try to knock over the wall.

"Guess you'll jus' have t'wait and see! I'm gonna make them see some new colors!" With the accepting smile of someone about to commit suicide, she leaped over the edge of the wall without an explanation to the poor boy. It was a suicide mission after all, going after three Youma at one time.

Her jump was well timed, narrowly missing the collision of the first beast into the wall. She managed to land on the back of the lead beast, grabbing onto a large tuft of hair sprouting down its spine to maintain her balance rather than toppling off and getting trampled to death. The Youma did not seem to approve of the newest hair accessory gracing its mane, and after the collision with the wall, began to buck furiously. With a confident grin, Sailor Iris crowed out "Oh, yer a feisty one! Let's see if I can do somethin' t'calm ya down!" She lifted her right hand in the air while clutching on for her life with her left hand, tightening her free hand into a fist. Her gloved hand began to glow as she shouted out "Iris Rainbow Ribbon!" From the depths of her hand, a rainbow fluttered out, which she soon flung around the creature's neck with a strong swing of her arm. Almost as if using the rainbow like reins, she grabbed onto the opposite end when it returned back to her from the opposite side of the beast. The creature beneath her shrieked out in pain and only continued to retaliate more fiercely with its bucking motions.

The other two Youma crashed into the walls before they noticed where the Sailor Scout had gone. It did not seem like these were the smartest of Youma, but they were strong, and that was something pretty important at the moment. The two backed up and began to paw their hooves to the ground.

All Sailor Taurus could do was stand on his tip-toes to see exactly what she was doing. It sucked to be on the other side of the wall with no way up. next time, he'd have to find a way to stand up on it while it was constructing. Then he'd have a much better vantage point. Still, Sailor Iris seemed to have a decent grasp on the situation.

Rainbows?

That sounded completely useless...and gay as she put it. Were all the other senshi so seemingly useless? What the hell could she do with rainbows? He doubted youma were so sensitive to bright colors. Well, maybe these were sensitive to red...maybe. Even as she jumped on the thing's back, Taurus had absolutely no faith in what she was doing. He could feel the wall rumbling under his fingers from the constant force and pressure against it. It wasn't going to last much longer if she didn't start ripping through these things like she had a chainsaw attached to her arm.

The sudden bright light and the weird rainbow cord wrapped around the things neck wasn't necessarily his what he had in mind. It just seemed to make it angrier. Taurus grabbed the edge of the wall tighter, lifting his foot between what looked like mortar between the stones to try and haul himself up. The movement of the rocks wasn't helping much. Before he could reach the top of the wall, he heard a miserable shriek from the thing she had been riding. This was not going to end well.

"Iris! This isn't working!" He called out to her over the beasts, finally finding his footing on top of the wall. Those things were right by his feet! Another crash against the wall almost knocked him off his feet but thankfully the soles of his shoes were rugged enough to keep him still. "Can't you do anything else?!"

There was way too much going on for Sailor Iris to really pay much attention to the one shouting at her right now. She was concentrating hard on not getting thrown off of the furious beast beneath her, concentrating on pulling tightly upon the rainbow reins, concentrating on the two other Youma looming nearby, and then being expected to hear what Taurus was shouting at her. He sounded upset, though she couldn't quite place her finger on whether it was concern or just strictly anger directed at her.

"Well, when you come up wit' somethin' better, feel free t'let me know!"

Her ribbon, though it might not have seemed like it was doing anything, was beginning to pull tighter up, meaning that the Youma's flesh was giving way slightly. In the back of her mind, she hoped that the creature started bleeding out soon. That would be her only saving grace at the moment.

The thing that snapped her mind out of thinking was the sound of hooves pounding towards her mount. She had only been alerted just prior to the first of the two beasts colliding into her current Youma mount. Sailor Iris was practically thrown off her mount, her body hitting a wall behind her harshly. The creature she had been mounted on screeched in a fashion similar to fingernails along a chalkboard. These Youma really weren't that smart, since the non-mounted creature literally just gored the mounted beast with its horns. At her hand, the rainbow faded, practically eliminating any chance for the blonde to get out of this alive.

The second Youma that had been stampeding towards her mount shifted slightly so that its new path led straight to the Senshi of Rainbows. There wasn't enough time to dodge, there wasn't enough time to attempt an attack, and there wasn't enough time to defend. The suicide mission had indeed turned into suicide. And all Sailor Iris could do in the face of danger was grin like the cocky little b*tch she was.

(End summary: Astraea pops in and saves Iris by blasting the charging Youma. Astraea then tampers with Iris' starseed to allow a new transformation. With renewed energy, Iris is able to slay the remaining Youma. Iris and Taurus part on their separate ways. )
