Layan thought of herself as an adventure, and it was with that thoguht that she left the den where her parents and siblings slept and moved off towards the unknown. She figured she would do some exploring and come back in time to eat.

She had gone down to the rivers edge and watched the fish swim, had a drink and a swim. She had climbed to the tallest point of the closest hill. When she was on top of it she could see for miles and miles, it was beautiful, it made the little klipspringer so happy.

She walked and walked and walked till her little hooves could take her no further. She was very proud of herself, feeling that she had accomplished a great deal in one day, she had explored so much and thought that she was a great adventurer. With all of this in mind she fell asleep under the blazing sun for a quick nap, after all even adventures needed naps sometimes.

Kona had had a quite morning, she had walked but she was walking slower now that she was getting bigger. She had covered very little grown this morning, but that was ok, she was still happy with herself, she had run into others that had met her Hetal and she knew that she was close, she was going to make it home before the birth of kittens that was for sure.

As Kona walked she noticed a bright blue spot up ahead of her, which stuck out a great deal amongst all the browns and greens in the Savannah. She moved quickly towards the blue spot, worried for the safety of whoever it was laying there, it was a hot day out and the stood out a great deal, any predator might came by and snatch them up.

Layan woke up just before the serval reached her and was startled by the fast creature approaching her, though she did stop to think that the creature was moving a little awkwardly, like it was moving much faster then it really should, she wasn't sure what to make of it really.

As scrambled up to her feet as quickly as she could unsure of what to do, she looked around herself trying to figure out which way was home, and then realized that she was lost, she had done so much exploring that she had no idea of which direction home was.

Without a thought about the creature that she had been so afraid of moments before Layan plopped down on her behind and just started wailing, she was so afraid now that she realized that she was lost.

Kona skidded to a stop before she actually ran right into the now wailing klipspring. She panted for a minute before actually being able to say anything to the little one, "I am sorry, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you little one." she sat down still trying to catch her breath. She felt terrible about scaring the little one, it hadn't been her intention, in fact she had ran all this way because she had been worried for the little ones safety.

"My name is Kona, and I mean you no harm, I was just worried about you I came to see if you were ok." she talked to her in a soothing voice trying to break through the sobs.

Layan continued to sob but she had heard everything the serval infront of her said. "I am sorry to" she managed to get out, "Its not that you just scared me but I have realized that I don't know where I am or how to get home." she cried harder after making this realization. It was a scary world for a tiny little klipspringer and Layan felt so silly for getting herself lost the way she had.

"My.... my... my name is Layan." she managed to get out. So that the serval knew who she was. "I don't suppose you could help me get home." she was very hopefull that this creature would be able to help her.

Kona dropped her head down, she really didnt want to help this little one, but how could she say no, after all she would hope that if her young ones were every in a bad position that they would come across someone nice enough to help them, "Layan" she said gently, "Do you know where your home is at all?"

While waiting for the little one to answer Kona looked around, she was hoping that she would be able to find a sign of something anything that might be the little ones home. She wasn't going to leave her stranded out here it just wasn't the right thing to do but she did hope that she was able to find her home quickly she had hoped to make it to Hetal but night fall.

Layan shook her head, her tearss becoming less and less. "I am not sure where my home might be. I was being an explorer and I had explored so much today that I lost my way. " she nodded as she told Kona all of this as the nodding made it extra clear that she was telling the absolute truth and nothing but.

"My home is big though, its not just my family but many other families, and a god is there with us, he is our protector." she was talking in her normal high pitched voice now, quite quickly as she was getting excited, surely the serval would have heard of her pack, her home, it was a great safe haven to many animals of prey.

Kona listened and found herself nodding along with the little cub. When the little cub mentioned her pack, with the protection of a god, Kona's face lit up, she knew exactly where this little one had come from, she had seen that pack in all her travels and if she wasn't mistaken it wasn't too far from here. She rose to her feet so that she was taller then the little klipspringer, before she would take the little one home she needed to talk to her.

"I think I can help you little one. But there is something I need from you first. I need you to make me a promise, that you will never do something like this again. It is a dangerous world out here for a little one such as yourself, and I would hate for something to happen to you. It would break you poor mother's heart." she looked down at the little one hoping that she was coming across as serious.

"You promise me this and I will bring you home."

Layan listened to Kona her eyes welling up with tears again but this time she held them back, she knew she had been wrong to venture so far off, but the world was so exciting and she had wanted to see more, to know more.

When Kona finished her lecture Layan looked up into her eyes and with the best big girl voice she could managed she said, "I promise that if you help me get home I will stay put till I am big and grown up, and know how to get myself back home. I promise that I will stay out of trouble." She hoped that she had got it right and that Kona would now lead the way.

"Will you take me home now?" she asked lightly, her little tag wagging ever so slightly.

Kona nodded and signaled for the little one to stand, "Ok then lets get moving, we don't have time to waste." she said as she began to walk in the direction that she knew the little ones home was in.

As they made there way closer the tell tale signs of a pack came into view. The land just looked lived on but in a good way. She could even see the odd members here and there. She smiled proud that her navigation hadn't failed her at this crucial time.

"Here we are little one." she said turning back to look at Layan. "Home sweet home."

Layan danced around excitiedly, there it was there was her home. She knew that it was it for sure, she recognized some of the others walking around, it was just like she had left it this morning.

She twirled around to look at Kona. "Thank you thank you thank you." she chirped. "If it wasn't for you I would probably never have made it back to my home, I owe you everything." the little Klipspringer was clearly overjoyed.

The little one darted into her home land at the speed of light. She wanted to find her mother and stay by her side, she was so thankful to be home again.

"Just don't forget your promise!" Kona yelled as Layan ran away. She hoped that the little dear would stay out of trouble, but it was in the nature of youngins to find where they shouldn't be and then spend a lot of time there.

She turned smiling to herself glad that she had been able to help. She looked up towards the sky, the day still had quite a bit of time left in it, hopefully she would still be able to find Hetal before night fall. She had a life time of stuff to tell her.
