Carter Hill East The gentle slope of Carter Hill is ideal for a leisurely hike, and so is marked by a high number of trails. Closer to the base, the forest is rather sparse, but as one approaches higher elevations, the spread of trees becomes quite dense. The closer one goes towards the city, the more one sees that the ground is pockmarked with small craters, and many of the fauna has been scorched badly.

"...where is that bugger..."
James looked around, then set one of his bags down on the ground beside him; reaching into a pocket on his right side and pulling out a pair of binoculars, which he used to scan the area.
He knew that the missile had come from the west, likely from high ground. But he didn't want to just keep going without any real clue as to where they would have to look.
He waited for backup to arrive...

Three rockets flew straight up from a point directly west. They began to arc down at the group of RAIFers below.
((Wait... there's only one RAIFer below... sweatdrop Belay this until more of you have arrived, and take a turn for reactions each.[/obvious]))

"Whatever it is knows we're comming," Abel mentioned, "Keep a look out for more rockets I suppose."
The part-machine stoped moving near James, his fans kicked in to combat some of the heat from walking the distance.

An arm slung back to keep Sey from falling off, Anna on Yves followed after the others. Her attention was primarily on Sey, though her ears were straining for any more of those frightful missiles.

(( I think I just assumed that you were firing at the other thread, but... okies. ^^ ))
James could clearly see now the rockets coming down at them. It would be kind of hard to miss the things, especially since he was within hearing range of their launching, at this point. Whatever it was that was shooting at them, it was right over the next hill.
"Everybody look up!" he shouted-
Dropping the binoculars and grabbing the handle of the briefcase beside him that he had set down, James ran to the left. Yes, there were three missiles, but scattering would get everyone away from where they would hit... unless they were locked onto one specific person, in which case, scattering would probably still help.

Sey thanked Falis and Anna for being there, and sat up, breating deeply.
"I'm better. What's..." She felt her hair stand on end and shivered.
"Falis..." Grabbing her staff and praying fervently, Sey swallowed.
"Falis strengthen my barriers, protect your children of light."

The roaring of a motorcycle in the distance singnaled Al's arrival, the team was complete.
But Stryphe, now next to James, was more focused on the missiles. He held out his right hand. From on of his index, middle, and ring fingers shot a small green sphere of energy. Like bullets, they shot through the air towards the missiles, now streaking down on a straight path towards the group.

He didn't even have time to finish the word "rockets" before James was already pointing to some.
Takeing a cue form James he made a dash to the left, slower than James but hopefuly fast enough to get out of the way. If worse came to worse he was ready to dive.

"Saints take them," Anna swore. She readied Yves to charge, if Stryphe's attack wasn't strong enough.

Alber, still a little disoriented, followed instinct when he saw his team run left. He did the same, tossing his helmet aside.

((First one- missile, second one- Sey's shield.))
One missile did break off and go after Mr. James Black, while the others headed for the majority of the group. This one missile saved itself, moving to narrowly dodge the energy blast, while its two companions exploded before they could reach their targets.
[Results]
The missile collided with Sey's shield with an explosion, but the shield took the brunt of the blast, resulting in a quite safe (or not perhaps shaken) James Black.

"Damn!" He hissed. The rest of his group was headed away from him, and Al still hadn't shown up on the scene.
Stryphe began to charge directly up the hill, knowing that Sey would protect James from the last missile. If someone didn't stop whatever was launching these, they would only keep coming.
He flicked on his radio while dashing up the hill.
"Al, up the hill! Fast! We need to stop whatever's firing these missiles at us!"

Sey felt the pieces of her barriers crack - someone was hit, but they were safe.
"What's going on Anna?!" Sey exclaimed, her adrenalin pumping. She was almost ready for another cast - she wasn't going to let anything happen to anyone else.
