Elle didn't usually find herself in this part of town. Particularly not at this hour-- which was close to midnight. She was sixteen and not particularly intimidating, so she was effectively acting as if she had a death wish. However, it was either cut through the slummy nasty cutthroat part of town or get home a half an hour late and get reamed by her mother. No thank you. To make things worse, the whole reason she was out in the first place was to make a run to some kid's house to pick up an eighth, and the Pope wouldn't be Catholic if Elle hadn't already rolled and smoked summa dat. She reasoned that because it was a Thursday and not a full moon, she was probably safe. And the ganja went pretty far to ease frayed nerves.

Not quite blazed out of her mind, Elle couldn't completely shake a really weird sense that something bad was close by, and it was bad vibes all the way. It was the weird feeling from the hospital, the sensation that nagged at her like background noise when she wasn't occupied with something else, and which intensified at the oddest moments on her romps about town. This was the worst it had ever been, and through the herbal haze she got the feeling she better pick up her feet and get back into safer territory asap. She didn't yet realize that it was her peculiar ability to sense youma that was prompting her, a trait inherited from her time spent at Barren Pines effectively as a zombie.

Elle had had the opportunity to be a zombie for much longer than some of the other kids, and it wasn't really surprising then that she had weak memories of the entire ordeal. She hardly recollected anything at all, but what she did remember, she didn't let on to others. Some things were better kept to oneself. She wasn't keen on being perceived as crazy. Her choice in personal style and recreational activities put her close enough to that line in many people's books.

The sound of footsteps faintly getting louder from behind her startled her from her reverie, and she jumped, glancing over her shoulder to see who--or what-- else was on the streets in this part of town at this hour, half-expecting some sex offender rapist to be creeping up on her, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. Man, this was so not cool. It was ruining the high.

Antique lamp-posts flickered dangerously as Ji-Yeon fervently rushed by stores. She glared down once again at her glow-in-the-dark wrist-watch as the long hand silently moved towards the '12'. It was midnight. That damned Sung-Jun. He knew her all too well already; the fact that she couldn't resist a challenge, particularly ones coming from him. At school, Ji-Yeon didn't care if her reputation was the shy, meek, easily-bullied new girl; it was the truth. But Sung-Jun always seemed to bring the bad, [or was it good?] side out of her.

Her mind reminisced back to just half an hour ago, she was already in bed, Bible open, prepared to pray just before eight-hours of Sung-Jun free hibernation. Just as she was closing the revered book, Sung-Jun entered from his 'side' of her room, some-what drunk. With some-what of a lascivious grin and breath that clearly hinted at vodka, he had inquired, "Want to do me a favor, Ji-Yeon?" She had simply responded with a scowl, and blanketed herself under her comforter. Of course, knowing him, he didn't give up that easily. "Please, Ji-Yeon? I'm too, dizzy, that is, right now to get some booze. I'll love you forever if you do!" Sung-Jun pleaded, though playfulness could be heard in his words. Leaping up with fury from under the covers, Ji-Yeon threw at him the coldest glare she could manage [which isn't scary at all, trust me], and spat, "GO. TO. SLEEP." Feigning innocence, he raised both hands in the air, as if a prisoner. "All right, all right, I give up." Slowly, the radius between the two Koreans increased as he backed off. Just when Ji-Yeon thought she could relax, Sung-Jun began to mock her, directly aiming for her weakest points. In a high-pitched voice of the sort, "That's right. Who would want to ask you? You're miss innocent. Missus I pray everyday, Missus I do charity day and night. Keep on acting like an angel, Ji-Yeon, but I know the truth. If you want to prove me wrong, do me the favor." She should've known better at that time, that he was merely playing puppeteer with her. God.

Where the hell was she? The streets began to become shadier, more people began to show themselves. Even with minimal light, Ji-Yeon could feel unhappiness and mischief radiating off these humans. Did that Sung-Jun want her to die out here? Clutching Sung-Jun's fake ID and Benjamin Franklins, her pace quickened, only to be stopped by several men, that towered over her. Curse them Korean genes, couldn't she be taller? One man, obviously the alpha male, clutched Ji-Yeon by her collar and literally inspected her. "My, my, what do we have here? What's a girl like you doing here?" he smirked. Ji-Yeon was simply repulsed. The second man, did the same, "Man, Xavier, she's freaking flat, just let her go." Xavier, that was, only grinned more. "I can deal." What the ******** was going to happen to her? She couldn't even reach for her henshin pen in such a position. So, she did what all females had learned from the moment they were pronounced as a girl. She shrieked at the top of her lungs, "HELPPPPPPPPPPP!" Boy, did she feel useless.

Elle was two parts relieved, one part severely paranoid when she found herself basically alone on the street, though she couldn't get over the feeling that something bad was out there. The high teen picked up the pace. Nothing bad would happen, she assured herself, doing an exercise to calm her turbulent mind, letting out a breath as she forced herself to accept that hers were the only footsteps she could hear on the seemingly empty streets. She was fiiiine. Oh yes. Fine enough to take another hit, mmhmm. That was excellent. Just what the doctor ordered.

The peaceful state of mind was not to last, however, broken by a scream from relatively close by. It made Elle's blood run cold all over again and she jumped, that single sound enough to send a flush of adrenaline through her, her heart thudding against her ribs. Oh no... seriously? Was that real? That sounded too real to be a hallucination. Naw, naw. Come now Elle, she counseled herself. You are high as ********. That could very well be a hallucination.

But what if it wasn't? She did sort of have a responsibility to go check it out, didn't she? It'd sounded like a girl. If it were she in the same position, Elle would certainly hope that a stoned kid would come to her rescue. And Elle was all about do unto others. Of course, if she'd been any closer to sober that wouldn't have been the case, but as it were, Elle bravely hurried to her peer's rescue, spotting a few men ahead holding onto an adorably petite Korean girl that looked about ready to piss herself. Hoo boy. Turn and run now, Elle.

"Hey assholes!" she cried, brandishing her jay like it was a deadly weapon. "Let go of her! I already called the cops!" Elle whipped out her cell phone threateningly as evidence, though she had done no such thing, not while she was carrying around an eighth of dank in the bottom of her purse. It just seemed like the right thing to say. Thugs were afraid of the cops, right?

Um. What, an angel? Someone, had come to save her. And anybody who had the gut to do that won Ji-Yeon's eternal love. Who could it be? The voice certainly sounded feminine. Xavier suddenly dropped her, to turn and glare at her savior. He moved, allowing her vision to clear. The spotlight was on a girl probably her age, with a jagged hair-cut, and piercing golden eyes. The threat was evident in her sentences, and the other male backed off. Xavier however, only cackled in response.

he grinned with a murderous intent. "You think they can go up against ME?" Within a second, the teenager transformed. The other boy's face transformed into a face of disgust and horror, "WHAT THE ******** ARE YOU MAN?!" Exactly, Ji-Yeon thought. She recognized the creature, it was similar to the one she had seen the day she had become a senshi. Looking back at the girl that saved her, Ji-Yeon decided, it was time to repay her debt. Though her hands trembled, she reached out for her henshin pen and shouted "SIRONA POWER, MAKE UP!" A brilliant array of neon flashing lights and twirling, was sure to daze the youma momentarily. Taking the chance for survival, Ji-Yeon grabbed her life-saver's hand, and ran like mad.

Where could they seek refuge? Hmm...Flashing lights. A nightclub! That was the only place that'd be open in Destiny City at such a place and time. Soon enough, an obnoxious sign welcomed the two, as they entered. Ji-Yeon sure didn't know the first thing about clubs, but perhaps the new girl did? Oh, and Sung-Jun was so not getting his booze.

Aww jyeah. That guy had better back off. Elle had a cell phone and she wasn't afraid to use it. She was feeling rather good about the whole situation, until Xavier uttered a phrase with a sentiment Elle often felt, but coming from him, all it did was scare her. Considering fear of the popo was her only weapon right now, and all. Xavier was giving her baaaad vibes, and she recoiled as he suddenly transformed, her eyes huge, rapidly considering the possibility that her recent purchase was laced with LSD or something. She certainly hoped she was trippin ballz and that guy had not SERIOUSLY TURNED INTO A MONSTER?

Elle was pretty good at keeping her cool. But that, that was a little too much, and her mouth fell open. But Sirona didn't give her a chance to run away screaming; she stared at the girl, transformed and wearing a very, VERY campy looking outfit. What the hell. Okay, definitely some acid in that weed. It was troubling because the monster was staying quite solid and terrifying, but she tried not to wig out. It was all just a bad trip.

Dazed, Elle stood staring for a moment more before Sirona snatched her hand, dragging her off down the street. Elle's adrenaline finally kicked in and she turned to run with her, her boots thudding on the street. She felt like she was flying, running for her very life, and darted with her into a nightclub-- the bouncer looked the other way for two chicks wearing short skirts. Panting, Elle drew to a halt inside the doors, the thumping house music vibrating through her, feeling the bass line in her bones.

"Wh-wh-what the-- DID THAT JUST ******** HAPPEN?!" Elle cried over the loud music, squinting at Sirona in the dark of the club, occassionally illuminated by patches of rapidly moving colored lights. Perhaps not the best place for her to be while she was already drastically overstimulated. She grabbed Sirona's arm, pulling her back into one of the bathroom where 20-something women were drunkenly primping, and the music wasn't quite as loud.

"Who are you and what the ********?" she demanded, her heart still pounding, terrified that that thing was coming after them. She could still sense it, whatever it was.

The combination of obnoxiously loud music, flashing lights, teenagers that might as well have been wearing no clothes, empty bottles of alcohol here and there, was deadly to Ji-Yeon. Such a lewd atmosphere! Good thing Yellow-Eyes took the initiative in finding them a sanctuary, or else she might have freaked out. It was only natural for the girl's response to be the way it was. Heck, if it the situation had been the other way around, Ji-Yeon might've bit her half-way there.

"I'm Ji-Yeon Nae, I go to your school, Meadowview. Part time Sailor Senshi."
she giggled shyly. She wasn't sure if she should've told the girl or not; but she seemed reliable. "And, I just saved your a** in thanks for saving me. That thing you saw, a shadow youma. If we hadn't run, we would've been dead, probably." Good thing the rest of the females in the restroom were all high. "It will probably change back into human form. And come after us. Can you sense it? Because, I can't."

Foolish mortals, running away from him. No matter, it could change back into 'Xavier'. And their running pace was so sluggish. The youma had been known for its' speed, but it's flaws lied in the inability to sense star-seeds and track them down. If it were to lose sight of the two girls, he'd be useless. For now, he was just another teenager entering a night-club. Come out, come out, wherever you are~.

Elle stared at Ji-Yeon as she explained what the ******** had just happened, blinking slowly, looking at her like she had six heads. She was desperately trying to keep her cool. Elle, come on girl. You can handle this. You're not going to die, it's just the weed. Never buy from Buddy again. Cross him off the list. Go home and sleep. No, not yet. Focus, just a little more, and realize that Ji-Yeon is saying something completely ridiculous.

"What .... okay wait a second. What is a Sailor Senshi? And what IS a 'shadow youma'? Is this some bullshit? Because it smells way too 'Saturday morning cartoons', okay?" she gave the Korean girl a level look, her eyes sweeping over her weird outfit, and wondering just how much of this could be chalked up to being completely out of her ******** mind. Or maybe she wasn't messed up enough. A few more tokes might make all of this make sense. Her heart was beating so hard that it almost felt like another part of the music.

"You can't be serious that that... that thing is--" she paused, realizing Ji-Yeon meant that she, Elle, knew where it was. It sounded ridiculous, but that odd feeling from the hospital was en force, and at the moment it seemed pretty meaningful. She did know where it was, to some degree. She had the weirdest sense of dread that it was coming into the night club right now, and she paled, grabbing Ji-Yeon's hand and squeezing. Elle wasn't about to let them get caught. She was a survivor. Even if she'd kind of died early on for the whole Zombie Pines bit. Everyone knew only virgins survived the Zombiepocalypse... but hopefully the same was not true of this situation.

"Man, I don't know if this is a bad trip or what, girl, but if I die, tell them that Elle Hammel didn't go down without a fight. I think we need to get the ******** out of here before it finds us. Isn't there somewhere safe where that thing like... can't go?" she furrowed her brow, her thinking retarded and at the same time sped up, traveling down useless avenues, flights of fancy that were not helping their plight. She had indeed smoked herself retarded.

"A Sailor Senshi are basically girls and boys who wear fukus like me," Ji-Yeon smiled as she looked down at her own attire, clicking her heels together. "We all have different 'spheres', and that decides our powers. My sphere is Healing. So, I'm kind of useless, and if we were to battle against that thing, we're kind of screwed." Ji-Yeon laughed nervously, avoiding eye contact. "Speaking of, that thing, called a youma, is definitely of the shadow type. We can't keep running away from it though, we need to get on the offensive. If you get caught, it will kill you." Ji-Yeon pursed her lips thoughtfully, slightly tilting her head.

"By means of devouring you." she stated. "You won't die. You can't die. I need your help!" Ji-Yeon cried, nearing tears. "I can't sense that thing, I won't know where it is, and I-I-I need your help. You can feel it right?" She felt completely at a loss, with someone like Elle on her side, she'd definitely feel safer, stronger. "Please?" Ji-Yeon pleaded, putting on her most 'vulnerable, help me' expression. Yeah, she was a pretty pathetic defender of justice.

"So, here's my plan, Elle." she leaned forward and spoke in a whispering tone. "Like I said before, shadow youma. Think. What's the opposite force of darkness?" she inquired, in a most mysterious way! "Light!" Ji-Yeon practically shouted, striking a flashy pose. The drunk girls in the bathroom turned to look, and rolled their eyes. Haters. "Anyways," she continued, "We have to go buy, lights. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it'll work. We just have to corner it. But then, the lights have to be crazy bright." she explained. "Are you up for it?" Ji-Yeon meekly asked. She hoped the answer would be a favorable one.

Ji-Yeon was not being very convincing, but Elle, despite a somewhat calmer appearance, was very near panic. So, while usually logic would dictate that she look at the Korean like she was crazy, she accepted it-- anything that promised a solution to this unusual and very real problem. The dark-haired teen visibly shuddered when the costumed senshi said it would kill them if it caught them. She knew it would. It felt so... so evil. And, to her horror, ever so slightly familiar. Her sun-starved skin was pale to begin with-- she wasn't sure she could get any whiter than this. Still, she reached out for the senshi on instinct when she saw the tears in her eyes, blinking, pulling herself back to reality as her fingers contacted the puffy sleeves. Focus.

"Ji-Yeon," she said, squeezing her shoulders, her anchor on reality. "I have to be completely honest with you. This sounds crazy. Insane. If I accept this as truth, I have jumped off the deep end." Elle drew in a breath, glancing over at the sickly yellow bathroom door nervously, knowing it would be no obstacle if that thing found them. She forced her gaze back to Ji-Yeon, catching a glimpse of herself in the dirty mirror above one of the sinks. Damn, she looked chopped.

"But right now, I really don't want to die, so I'm going to do something crazy. I am going to believe you. Home Depot is still open, right? Let's go there. Because that thing is ******** right outside the door man," she lowered her voice to a desperate whisper, shooting another fearful glance at the door. "If we run, we can make it," Elle reasoned, trying to calm the ******** down, but she could hear her heartbeat in her ears by now, a rapid staccato.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 29, 2010 4:39 pm

Elle's whispers sent chills up and down Ji-Yeon's back. Death seemed like such an unrealistic thing, ever since she'd become a senshi. Elle however, wasn't being a pessimist, just, straight-forward. It certainly was going to happen soon, if they didn't do something? The fact that th-th-the youma was standing right outside the restroom was something straight out of a horror flick. With a gulp of her throat, Ji-Yeon swallowed, and replied, "Running to Home Depot, sounds good." She tried to maintain a positive and clear tone, but even her voice shook. On the count of three, she mouthed towards Elle. As each second passed, one of her fingers went up, and then at three, Ji-Yeon clutched Elle's palms and busted down the door.

For a split, split, second, her horrified eyes met the sadistic gleam of the youma's. It seemed to even let them pass, as if it took pleasure in the hunt. Disgusting. A few girly shrieks and pissed grunts were thrown at the two as they shoved through the crowd, but survival came before manners. Opening door after door, not a word was exchanged, it would be wasting their precious breaths. Soon enough, the blistering night wind hit flesh as they ran with all their might. With every passing shadow, Ji-Yeon's fear grew. It felt like death was awaiting on every corner. At one point, a cackle could be heard. You can run, but you can't hide. Ji-Yeon's mind translated. However, the tacky orange and white letters soon came into sight, and it felt like a haven. "There!" Ji-Yeon yelled, feeling slightly more energetic then before.
