(I know initially I said that only Host Club members could post before 10 PM, but after snow shoveling most of the day, I'm less than inclined to care. So feel free to post. Just let me lay down one or two things:

1. Please let the Host Club set up decor / prepare themselves unless they ask you for something,

2. At Amelia's request, I'll be bunnying her around,

3. We, the Host Club, reserve the right to ignore whatever attempts you make to crash the party BEFORE it starts.

4. I don't want to get TOO picky on rules, so I'm going to leave it at this.

5. Oh, and for the record, this is supposed to take place at FEF Castle)

Rhys looked... really zarking happy!

Stockings were hung, trees had been decorated, and their decorating assaults on the castle at large had begun! The battlements gave way before a relentless swarm of wreaths and, um, other assorted decorations that parties at Christmas / New Year's called for. The Bishop himself wasn't sure what everything was--"Ehhh, just get as much festive stuff up there as you can"--but it was all starting to come together! ...Or maybe it was recent family life developments giving him a more cheery outlook on life. Who knew?

Amelia also looked pretty happy herself. There had been times in the past when Rhys would get pretty bloody well depressed about this or that serious matter, and while it was justifiable, she hated it when he got that way--it made him a bit scary, even. Not scary in the sense that a giant wyvern is about to eat your face off, but not all kinds of "scary" come from Wyvern Lords. But no, for Rhys to be acting pretty bouncy and giving out orders with such carefree confidence? Adorable, that. For once in her life, she had a vague notion to pinch his cheeks... then perhaps carry him off somewhere more private, but that could wait until later.

Still, two little kids (one present, one forthcoming) aside, there was work to be done, and darn it if she was going to let others do it!

And so it was that the couple were busy at work doing goodness knows what making preparations for the party, along with whichever Host Club members felt like lending a hand.

~)Sue(~

User ImageSue had been given a message (or rather a demand by mail) from Rhys to come and help with the decorating of Eyris Castle for a party that was supposed to usher in the new year and hopefully give everyone a happy start. There had been a lot to think about during all the previous holidays, well with all the takeovers, rebellions, rumors, and...

"Maybe this year, things will be different, no, I know they will! This New Year's kickoff will be the start of something new for Eyris!"

All in all, Sue prayed that peace would smile down upon all of the fair city of Eyris. It was what they deserved after a year of many hardships and struggles. The Nomad Trooper had been charged with rushing the food that had been prepared to the proper places, making sure that it was put in the right order.

Only one thing bothered Sue about this task she was doing: there were several dishes that were sent anonymously from the Duke's head. All were tested to be fine, but who in their right mind would send this many, when the Host Club had worked so hard in preparing food themselves? It was downright irritating not to know.

So far, only Rhys and Amelia were here, putting the decor upon the walls. More of them would show up, surely... and maybe figure out just who sent these things and why.

The Fire Dragon had been waiting for the Host Club to host another party for quite some time. Life in Learania had been evolving for all the members (some more than others quite drastically) since the last party they'd hosted. Rhys and Amelia had finally gone from being engaged to actually being married, whilst he and Nils were now engaged, in need of a wedding (which was apparently trapped in a dimension where things gets planned for but never actualized). There was now a Hostess Club to compete with, fresh faces continued to sprout in Learania from all sorts of far away places regularly, while the presence of some others had seemed to wither away. At any rate, he was glad they were back to hosting a party. And at FEF Castle, too, FD thought to himself (remembering the events that took place when they hosted their last party at FEFGA's where he had... caught the mansion on fire with his Flametongue).

FD was at work preparing for the celebration by stocking and readying the bar with a larger assortment of drinks than there had been at any other Host Club party he could remember (which at some point while preparing the bar he recalled the time when... he got so drunk at a Host Club party Nils almost had to drag him off to a sofa to recover). There had been a time when there was only a single bottle of Vodka.

That wouldn't be the case tonight. No, tonight anyone would be able to have whatever sort of drink they wanted, should they want any sort of drink. It would be a night of celebration to remember (or not remember, depending on just HOW drunk one became), FD told himself as he continued to stock the bar up. The party hadn't even started, but FD already had his signature martini glass he drank from at every Host Club party in hand while he worked to prepare for the next one.

Of course, a large celebration organized by the Host Club would be nothing without the resident Druid with hands all behind the scenes! But, whatever was there for him to do? People were managing the refreshments, the decorations... everything was pretty much under control, for once!

Well, until Rei focused his attention across the large ballroom, and upon the bar. Good ol' FD, as busy as the rest of them. But the man's fiance, Nils, was nowhere to be seen! Maybe the Bard was off managing things even more complicated than what was on the floor. Either way, if the dragon were to consume a massive amount of alcohol before Nils came, things could have a chance to get... quite out of hand.

Still, everything else looked to be in good order, and he had nothing better to do, so why not? So obviously, Rei approached FD with little more than a casual wave, before beginning conversation. "So, when are you and Nils going to... you know, get all that stuff actually worked out?"

"Oh hi, Rei," FD glanced up to see the Druid approaching him. "You know what, it keeps getting delayed. But as of right now, we're planning to have in on Valentine's Day." he explained.

He looked at the martini glass in his had just after the answer and decided to place it on the bar's cool surface for a while. He shouldn't be drinking BEFORE the party even began. If history was to give any insight into what would happen, he'd certainly have more than enough to drink during the event. Besides, he had Nils to think about. FD didn't want to inconvenience his love like he had in the past due to his drinking habits at celebrations (although he had been getting better about it, he thought to himself).

"Meanwhile," he turned his attention back to the Druid, "what have you been up to? More than just locking yourself in the library alone, I'm hoping. Otherwise, we're going to have to change that," he spoke to Rei with a grin.

"I-I'm here!!" Nils practically shouted as he entered the room that was to be the site of their party tonight. Much to his embarrassment, the rest of the Host Club was already there. Heck, even Rei was already there! And that was a rare sight. He began to stammer something that sounded like an excuse and apology, though it certainly made no sense; he was practically out of breath, slightly doubled-over and pressing the palms of his hands against his knees. The little bard had been running around all day, as usual. Between his crew duties, his Host Club duties, his daily musical performance in the streets (something he insisted on doing), and spending time with his loved ones, he seemed to never stop moving.

Nils truly loved his life. He exhaled heavily, calming himself down enough so he could talk normally. "... Sorry." The bard stated once more, looking for something to do. It looked as everything was ready, though, so he put a bright grin on his face and made his way over to his love. And hey, Rei was there, too! He gave a nod to them both, his facial expression hardly fading.

Rei let himself utter a small humph in response to FD's response. Valentine's Day? If it kept getting pushed back, there'd be the chance of it just getting pushed away farther and farther and farther and then it never happens! And that would just be sad.

"Me?" Rei said, giving the dragon a sheepish grin. But before he could reply, Nils's appearance definitely distracted him. "Well look who it is." The druid said, shaking his head. "As I was going to say, I've... been doing nothing but hiding in the library, lately..." The druid hung his head in fake shame, before beginning to laugh and smile as he looked the pair of dragons in the eyes. "So yes, it would seem like you two will have to change that..."

"Kaoru!" FD exclaimed as his lover approached him and the Druid. "You're hear!" He embraced the bard, turning to Rei before their embrace ended to respond to the Druid.

"I guess we will have to change that!" he replied. "You know, I've been looking to actually start training myself, and I haven't done anything like that in many, many years, being, well, a dragon and all around here. But with this place always being plagued by something or other, I figure it never hurts to be at the top of your game." Actually, it had been his battle with Misura months ago that had the dragon considering training. If they could face opponents powerful enough he'd have a draw with a single enemy one-on-one, there was definitely room for improvement. "At any rate, I've been meaning to do some field training. You're more than welcome to join me if you'd be interested in working with a Dragon. Why not practice what you've been learning in the library out on the field with me?"

User Image"Nils!" Sue exclaimed the bard's name as she's just wheeled in another group of cakes (half of them from the Duke's Head) and put them on the appropriate tables. She was distracted from her own duties for a moment when she took the opportunity to hug the little dragon. "It's good to see you. That performance you did today was near my bow shop, by the way. it was fantastic, I can't wait to hear more!"

The nomad backed away from the little bard, before greeting FD and Rei as well. "Well, you finally decided to join us here outside your study, Rei. and Hikaru, you said you want to train yourself? I can be good with teaching you how to be speedy, if you don't mind. As a Sacaen warrior, I won't hold back... I know you're prepared. For now though, we have to focus on one thing: lets make everyone in Eyris feel like a King or Queen, right? It's our mission!"

Nils grinned brightly, gladly returning the embrace. "Of course I'm here, Hikaru! Why wouldn't I be?" He tilted his head up to look at his lover's face. "There's no way I could have missed this, even if I wanted to."

Once the embrace ended (too short-lived, the bard thought), he turned to Rei, shaking his head slowly. "... You really do need to get out more! You're, what, sixteen or something? You can't spend the whole time just having your nose stuck in some book!" His eyes narrowed into a not-so-threatening glare; the urge to slap his friend's head in frustration was great, but he resisted. "And, to let you know, I'd be happy to drag you around town sometime, if that's what it'll take to get you outside! Sheesh..." He shook his head slowly, giving the druid a quick hug and a smack on the back. Apparently, Nils couldn't resist smacking Rei in some way... "... and stop being taller than me." He muttered irritably, quickly releasing Rei from the friendly hug.

With his mini-rant done, he turned around again, swearing that he heard someone call out to him. Indeed, he was right; he was pulled into a hug by another member of the Host Club, Sue. He grinned, returning the hug. "Really? I'm glad you liked it! It was the first time I ever performed that piece, actually..." He sheepishly admitted, laughing softly to himself. "I'll let you know when I'll play next. Maybe you can stop by!"

Once the conversation switched back to training (I really should train more, too), Nils began to smile to himself. He was happy being here with the Host Club, almost happier than he did doing all the other things that he did. "Sue's right... Let's focus on this party for now. Let's make it one that no one will ever forget!"

Nomad Rath
Vice Captain

Dedicated Guildsman

PostPosted: Thu Dec 31, 2009 6:41 pm

It had been two full months now, since the kidnapping of Amara, and arise of the dark sorceress, Razevi. Usually by now, something new had come along and was causing trouble. However, nothing came, and Learania had peace. The new year was now upon them, and they were able to celebrate it, the way things should be celebrated: with a Host Club party.

As Rath came down and entered the party area, he looked around and was pleased with the decorations. The last party held at the castle had not gone so well, and he could only hope that there would not be a repeat event. It would certainly be a far less formal celebration, at least. There was no foreign guest to impress.

Having finished taking in the pleasant decorations, the acting captain of the guild made his way over to one of the bars. As he made himself a glass of nomadic tea, Rath noticed that Nino's child, Nils, and the bard's fiancé were at the bar, as well. He paid them no mind, and went about his business. When he finished preparing his drink, he looked over at the conversing group, gave a nod's greeting to whoever looked at him, and calmly walked off.

The nomadic man was not very good when it came to parties or any sort of social gathering, but in the position he was in, he would have to attend the ones that he could. Nino was still known to be bedridden, and thus unable to attend, herself. Since this one was actually being held within the castle, it was only suiting that he come out of his office for it.

Not many had arrived yet, making it easy to locate people. With a quick glance, Rath noticed Rhys and made his way over to the bishop. As this man was the leader of the committee who was holding the party, it would apparently be polite to say hello. "Hostmaster." Rath said as he nodded slightly. "You are deserving of praise, it seems. You have done well. I hope this celebration is as good, if not better, than the reputation of your other ones."

Rei couldn't help but smile as he saw the pair embrace each other. They were a really good couple, he had to admit. Seeing how happy the two of them were almost made him wonder about finding the right girl for him. Almost. But he shrugged that thought from his mind. Chances are, the girl of his dreams would end up finding him, like so many other things had.

Romantic thoughts of the corny running-through-the-field scenes came to Rei's mind, completely blocking out a bit of FD's reply. It was only when the words 'field training' came up, and jabbed the Druid's mind like a spear, that he shook his imagination from the forefront.

"Working with a dragon, huh?" The Druid had a sly smirk on his face as he brought his hands together and cracked his knuckles. "I'd love to-" Before he could say something this time, Nils once again decided to put his two cents in, showing that he was more than willing to mess with his friend, if it got him to leave his room once in a while. And then even Sue walked up and said her hellos! He really needed to get out more. But with as much time as he was spending reading, coupled with as much effort as it took to keep those twins from causing citywide mayhem, he hardly had time to be dragged around for a night on the town! And he didn't want to give the twins to someone for a night, he'd feel bad.

And then everyone started getting on the same wavelength. Make the party great, make it memorable, all that stuff. Hardly Rei's thing, he'd just help out where he was needed and leave it at that. So, instead of verbally agreeing with Nils and Sue, he only rolled his eyes, let out a small chuckle, and waited for things to get interesting. They always did, after all...

User ImageSo far, so good. Everyone here was in good spirits, and they were all in the mood to be celebrating. Being in good cheer would make it far easier for thier duties as hosts, for someone had told Sue that smiles were contagious. The young nomad woman quickly proceeded to making some more of the preparations she was assigned to, when she stopped at the sound of her father's voice.

"He's here!" Sue thought, with a little excitement allowing itself to show in a wide grin across the nomad's face. Despite all his crew duties, Sue's father had been able to show up here! It was like another gift in itself. She waved, and then returned to help her fellow hosts make this the best night of their lives.

"No time for words now, I can speak with Father later. For now... I have to make sure that everything is absolutely perfect! At least..." She looked around, at FD, Rei, Nils, and Rhys. "I'm not alone in this New Year. My friends are with me. We'll all do this together."

Something moving in the emptiness
Something drew me near
Someone told me of my future deeds
Whispered them in my ear

User ImageTibarn came down the steps in his long winter coat. He had never fully acclimated to the cold winters of Eyris after all his years spent in sunny Phoenicis, and so even indoors he would often wear a long, warm fur jacket in place of his usual green one during the winter. Although he wasn't crew, he obviously still lived with his wife and daughter in the castle.

He also had a new hat. A hat so awesome, it made people want to give him money just for wearing it. It was red, with a shiny black visor and a golden bat wing rising up to one side. Apparently it had been left as a gift from a satisfied patron at his new job.

He wore it now, because it looked damn fine. He waved to the Host Club folks as he passed through the main hall and opened the door to poke his head into the courtyard. "Vah! Vaherianslyeri, stop playing in the snow and come in! It's time for the party!" There was a soft squeal from outside, and a snow-covered little Branded came running in and hopped up into her daddy's arms.

"Uff! Hey, girlie." He put her down, laughing softly. "Go get out of that wet coat and let Mommy get you dressed for the party."

"Kay, Daddy!" the blonde child giggled, hugging his legs before running off down the hall and up the stairs, her mittens flapping as they hung from her wrists by strings. Tibarn shook his head slowly, reaching up to lift his hat, run his fingers through his hair, and put it back down. "Hmm..." He still wasn't sure about appearing publicly at the castle, but Vah was so excited about the party, and she wanted her daddy there... and he couldn't say no to her. So here he was.

He sighed, turning to look at the decorated tree. Hmph, not much near the top! He couldn't just stand here like an idiot until people started arriving, so he spread his wings and slowly took off, collecting some of the excess ornaments from the lower parts of the tree and flying them to the top, where he hung them until everything looked a little more even.
